This is so scary on so many levels if this happens.

From ESPN.com:

Michael Jordan playing for the Lakers? The thought has occurred to Phil Jackson.

Jackson, the Lakers coach and Jordan's former coach in Chicago, intimated in a published report that he has reluctantly considered a scenario in which Jordan would play for him if Kobe Bryant is unable to.

"It has crossed my mind," Jackson told the Chicago Tribune for Tuesday's editions. "But I don't think I'd ask Michael that question until it became absolutely necessary or it became a reality. It's just speculation."

Jordan, 40, has not dropped hints that he'll play again.

Jordan retired after last season as a Washington Wizard, missing the playoffs for a second straight season. He butted heads with teammates and ownership and, ultimately, was fired when he tried to return to his front-office position with the franchise.

Bryant has a scheduled court appearance in Eagle, Colo., on Thursday, when it will be determined in a preliminary hearing whether he will stand trial for felony sexual assault. A trial date has not been set, and it is possible that a trial could come during the NBA's regular season or during the playoffs.

The thinking is Jackson wants Bryant to be able to straighten out his personal life and get back to being the 25-year-old star player he's known to be on the court. Bryant has acknowledged that he considered not playing this season, a revelation that may have gotten Jackson thinking about short-term roster alternatives.

Bryant has denied raping his 19-year-old accuser, contending he was guilty only of adultery for having consensual sex with the woman.

Meanwhile, Bryant is continuing to build strength after having offseason shoulder and knee surgery. At 205, he's 15 pounds lighter than he was a year ago. Jackson said Monday that Bryant probably will not play until the Lakers' Oct. 14 preseason game against Phoenix in San Diego.

"I can pretty much do everything except explode. My leg is weak at some spots," Bryant said in Honolulu, where the Lakers hold training camp.

*Announcer* now coming out of retirement for the 78th time, Michael Jordan, he is in his 80's, but he can still tick! Wow this is weird, i kind of want to see Jordan come back, nostalgia rules in playoffs.

Go ahead, do it
You have sexual needs (needs), desires (desires)
You want to, you need to, do it for you
When was the last time you did something, for you? (indulge)
We all know this is a physical thing, it's not like you're going to leave your wife (physical)
Look at it this way, it will make your relationship stronger in the end
What she doesn't know, wont hurt her (bliss)
You'll apprecriate your wife more (appreciation)
You play your cards right, you might even learn a few things (A+)
And believe me, your wife will thank you later (thanks)
I'm not telling you anything that you don't already know.

Please no. When he came back to the Bulls, he was the savior. When he came back to the Wizards, he did great things and was supposed to be the savior. Now, he'll be a roleplayer. The Lakers just add and add and add, and now they're gonna call in the greatest player of all time as a fill-in? An injury sub? That's like calling up Wayne Gretzky when Mario Lemieux goes down, or Cy Young (revived and back to near prime) to replace Pedro. What the Lakers are doing is just not fair.

Sometimes I ask myself why I watch WWE after all the crap it's given me. HLA, necro, HHH, and so on. And then it hits me. That one simple phrase that can be modified and used for anything that gets you down, yet makes you keep coming back.

Every episode has the potential to be the best one ever, and I'll be damned if I'm going to miss it after sitting through this shit.

What's not fair about it? They are playing by the same rules as everyone else.

I wonder if GP and Malone, on hearing the news about Jordan as Kobe's possible replacement, secretly wished for a second that Kobe gets foud guilty. And Shaq too, since 41-year-old MJ would surely give him the ball more than 25-year-old Kobe.

(STOLEN FROM ESPN.com)

Michael Jordan playing for the Lakers? The thought has occurred to Phil Jackson. But it hasn't occurred to MJ, who said his answer would be no.

In fact, his response -- issued through a spokeswoman -- was short, to the point and unequivocal: "100 percent no."

To the Lakers? No. The Wizards were bad enough, but this just wouldn't be right. It'd be like Wayne Gretzky coming back to play for the Calgary Flames, or Joe Montana coming back to play for the Dallas Cowboys. Could Jordan do it? Probably. Respect alone singled him out as the man to guard in Washington, but you can't do that on a floor with Shaq and Malone, and Payton distributing. If not for the fact that I don't think there's any way Kobe is kept off the floor this year, I could definitely see this happening.

That, and also Jordan saying "100 percent no" to any comeback thoughts.

Hasn't Jordan said that before? The same way Mario Lemieux said it after he retired for the second time? I don't think I'll ever believe Jordan is gone for good until he's physically no longer capable of playing in an NBA game.
