The Bananas are supposedly big TV stars over in AussieLand.
It'd be the equivalent of using the Banana Splits on a PPV over here.

Still looks like I'm the only one interested in this promotion.

I'm very dissapointed that Randy Savage won't be on the show. However, Bret Hart is still scheduled to appear, so I'm still buying!

What do you all think?

Nono. I'm interested in it too. Matter of fact, I'm watching it right now. I liked their last show, but bottom line is that they are lower right now than ECW had been since 1997.

They need to hold onto Scott Steiner BADLY if they are going to compete two or more years down the road. Having some of these AWESOME cruisers too won't hurt, but we'll how many Vince picks up after the split.

EDIT: Here's the first surprise I saw tonight. Jerry Lynn just showed up and attacked Eddy Guerrero after Eddy had just on the Internation Crusierweight belt. I thought JR has been telling us that he was injured beyond all belief.

So, this means no more Lynn in WWF, right?
Anyway, I'm still mad that the West Hollywood Blondes didn't show up against Kroni>|.
And Eddie G. still rocks...

Lenny and Lodi are actually tagging right now against -- wow. While I was typing this, Cat and Rick Steiner just pinned Lenny in about 15 seconds.

Also, you have to believe that Lynn is gone because Larry Zybizko just ran down Vince McMahon and challenged him.

Well, that was one entertaining show! The production was nowhere near the WWF's and made us miss a few spots because we couldn't see anything.

The Sabu/Storm match was awesome, the Zybizko promo had me marking out and the Funkster had me laughing out loud. That was a vrey good Hogan impersonation!

Seeing that PPV made me realise how much we were lucky to have an alternative to the WWF when WCW and ECW were still around.

Now if the WWA can keep all those wrestlers, they might be on to something.

2 good matches. 6-Man Cruiserweight was off the page. Eddy-Juvy-Psicosis was also solid. Everything else was weak. Brian Christopher main evented the show for crying out loud! Bret Hart cut the stupidest promo I have ever seen in my life and Larry Zybsko came off as a sad, bitter old man. Zybsko actually said Jericho is too short to be a mega-star. Loser. Yeah, Jericho is using living legend, get over it. That show was bad, plus they advertised Macho all the way up until the pre-show (after my dumbass had ordered it) they could have at least taken him off the website considering this allegedly happened Thursday. Man was that bush league. Oh well, life goes on and I know I'll appreciate Raw a hell of a lot more now. "Man Stephanie is annoying...but at least she's not a hardcore midget"

The PPV was a keeper. It wasn't a joke like the last one with the Royal and the Bananas. They have some real talent, and all I can say is that it's a shame that the promoter isn't looking to establish in America for a while.

Q&D Results for anybody who cares

Great cruiserweight matches, pointless segments, boring midcard, and a crappy main event. Didn't I see this formula done somewhere before? Where did the WWA go wrong?

- The announce team. Jeremy Borash? This guy sucks. I've seen more excitement and emotion out of an Al Gore speech. As for Madden, he has always been a poor man's Heenan to me. They're only a step above David McLane and Lee Marshall as the most annoying announcers.

- Yet another impression of Hogan, and probably the most unfunny one to date. You know, that's been done to death and there are much funnier versions that have been done (see Austin's Steve-a-mania in ECW and Big Show's Showster). It's called originality, brother.

- A Kronik match. Almost as bad as the match they had vs. Kane/Taker that saw Kronik get their walking papers.

- Hardcore midgets. If I have to explain why...

- Scott Steiner. OK, they sign a potential big player and what do they do with him? Make him squash midgets and beat up Disco Inferno. Oooooo, what an impact. You got a monster heel, for goodness sake. Have him do something buzzworthy, like an attack on Bret Hart.

- Larry Z's "challenge" a.k.a. let's hope Vince bites on it and gives us free publicity. Larry, it didn't work when Bischoff did it. What makes you think it would work with you? All you did was make yourself look like a bitter old man that time forgot.

- The main event was handled sloppily from the start. What's the deal with Savage? You don't advertise somebody until you make sure you have them for the event, or was that the classic bait and switch? Then to make things worse, Brian Christopher in the main event? Not even Jarrett could make this train wreck look good.

Like I said, the cruisers were the only saving grace, but you could get the same quality match for free on Lucha Libre. Forget about striving to be the next ECW, the WWA isn't even on the level of the dying days of WCW. I'll be tuning in Monday night with a renewed appreciation for the WWF.

Well....
It seems as though wwa actually has wrestling in its program, which is nice to see, but they really need to do a better job with their talent. The Savage thing isn't really a huge deal, nothing that hasn't happened before to other "up-and-coming" feds (re: XPW). Anyways, it wasn't as good as the first ppv, but it shows promise. I hope they can get a syndication deal for an hour a week somewhere. Hell, I'd watch it for the crusierweights, since we know WwF ain't ever gonna use them.

Well, I just watched the Zbysko interview and it was the most rediculous thing I've ever seen. He begins telling us how wonderful a man Vince McMahon Sr. was and what a disgusting loser Vince Jr. is. He'll "testify" about the McMahons!

Larry goes on and on about how Vince spits in everyone's face and does not let the cream rise to the top. How he vowed 20 years ago never to be in Vince Jr's WWF and never was. How "Junior's business is waaaaaay down and how Chris Jericho is too short to be a super duper star."

Well if that wasn't the stupidest thing I've ever seen I don't know what was. I feel so bad for Larry right now I don't know what to say. That was just horrible. The only good thing about the interview is how the fans chanted, yes, you've guessed it, "What?" after everything Larry said. What a loser...

I've got to give Lenny and Lodi props for holding up the "We're not Chuck & Billy. We're funny" sign....and how they lost in about 15 seconds... And now The Cat is beating up Mark Madden... Why am I watching this?!

The King: "Are you bilingual?"
HHH: "I'm bi- a lot of things, but lingual's not one of them...Ummm, did I mean to say that?"
JR: "Probably not, but we're live"

Sorry Z. I was just here all night, and I saw the PPV, so I didn't think of looking at slash.

One seemingly optical illusion on the WWA show really confused me. During the middle of the first match, the camera does a wide shot, and over half of the right side chairs (if you are facing the ring) are empty. The entire area is sparsely populated on that right side. Toward the end of the first match or the beginning of the second match, they went to the same wide shot and this time the entire area is full of people. Did anybody else see this, or was my mind just playing its usual tricks on me?
BTW, Madden and Disco's banter during the Kronic match had me in stitches.

Probably pointing out the obvious here, but it's gonna be tough for them to keep people when, if the WWF has any interest in them, they will be G-O-O-N-N-E-E, gone. (Christopher supposedly already is.) I think their chance of keeping Steiner is about 0%. They can probably keep most of the cruisers, but if WWF is right that they're not marketable, then that's not gonna be a big help. On the bright side, keeping Jarrett and Hart won't be problems.

Do you think he'll win? I do. My guess is that Booker wins it, drops it to Nash after Backlash, and Nash drops it back to Triple H at the first Raw PPV.
