Well, watching Shane Douglas vomit in the ring is well worth my $9.95, I guess.
Wait, I mean, I hope I never have to see anything like that ever again.
Also two SURPRISE wrestlers arrive: The Man Formerly Known as Jamal, and -- much more exciting, for me at least, and I'm GUESSING for you -- VAMPIRO! Yay!
Show as a whole wasn't great. Maybe they shouldn't take any weeks off next year, since everything seems worse when they come back -- the timing seemed really off.
Has anyone here seen much of Nosawa? I'm not impressed with him so far -- and it's not just because of the ICP ads plastered all over his body. He just seems really awkward, really hesitant -- he spends too much time looking like he's not quite sure what's going on. Anyone?
Oh, and Christopher Daniels' altar boys: Was one of them Altar Boy Luke? I've only seen him once before, and I can't pick him out of a lineup. That middle altar boy looked EXACTLY like a little mini-Kane, though. While I don't have any real objection to Daniels getting a stable, it just seems really kind of New Church-y.
Rowdy Roddy Piper -- wow, he really made no sense at all. I think that was the first time ever I was glad to see Russo interrupting someone.
One last thing: Does no one in pro wrestling know how to operate electric clippers? They always hold them upside down! First Edge with Kurt Angle, and tonight, Mitchell carved the HELL out of Raven's head! Jesus, give them a quick TUTORIAL before the show or something. Or have Kyan do a run-in.

I assumed that was intentional, as Mitchell referred to doing something like it during his promo before hand. It made for quite a visual. As did the vomit. Poor Shane, maybe he watched a tape of Raw before the match.

And I always get a kick out the people that still wear the Sting Wolfpac shirts.
"But it's mah rasslin' shirt! nWo 4 Life!"
Maybe they were expecting Sting to show up, though. If that's the case, it's not quite as bad.
Originally posted by El PescadoWhy did Shane Douglas throw up? Was he sick, injured, or was it part of a story line?
It definitely wasn't a purposeful thing. He was choking out Raven, both of them prone, and Shane was...spitting a lot. I thought he was taunting Raven at first. Then, when they were both standing, he spit/drooled a lot more, and then he horked. Not a ton or anything, but enough to make a spot the size of a dinner plate or so on the mat. It wasn't like a Booker T / Michael Cole kind of thing.
I did notice that he was REALLY favoring his right (IIRC) arm, and for some time afterwards -- he was holding it really close to his body. It seemed like maybe he injured his arm (although he started using it more as the match went on).
In any case, kudos to Douglas for not calling for a quick end to the match when he was having problems, and going through with the rest -- including, I have to mention, a pretty awesome Raven Effect DDT off the middle rope through a table.
I was really impressed with Raven & Douglas ... They put on a 17 minute match full of excitement (not bad for a bunch of older guys) ... Douglas really played a great heel by getting into it with the crowd. I so wanted to chant a "Dean Douglas" reference, but advised against, for fear of coming off as a tool.

I now have one big problem with the NWA:TNA and In Demand relationship. Until about a month ago, there was ONE showing of TNA (not counting the show right after for the purposes of this discussion). Now there are many, many showings of the show on digital cable.
Here's the problem I have with this. Actually I'm glad that In Demand is getting behind TNA to a point. But now I can just not order the first show and go online to find out the results. It is then when I would decide whether to order one of the replays. In the case of this past week, I see that the show wasn't very good, and I can now not bother ordering. In the past I would have the curiosity factor, but now I can treat TNA like Smackdown and read spoilers and decide from there.
(Although the thought of former ECW champ Douglas spewing in the ring has a strong curiosity factor.)
Molly, Stacy and Daffney all in WWE? I suddenly lost all my will to complain about anything regarding the WWE. Hope I don't lose my street cred for this.
TS, the greatest Wiener rated 6.1554 ever to live!! Oops, I mean 5.5...4.5?? Oh, dammit! I guess Notorious FAB was right.

They've also completely stopped showing movies on iNDEMAND1, so they have to fill all that time with SOMETHING.

He's look fine in CMLL, but it sounds like in Mexico, his matches are a lot more (sometimes aimless) brawling than in NWA TNA. He's been less a flashy spot guy and more an annoy the crowd one, so he wouldn't been my first pick for this spot.
Does Nosawa wear pigtails in TNA? If so, I may have to make a trip over to TN and kick him in the nuts like I vowed to do the first time I saw him on Lucha Libre.

Like most people, he probably felt a little better after throwing up.

Here is a reprint of my highly acclaimed third slash opinion piece, hopefully in the correct forum this time (it was a draw between here and guest column feedback, so I chose here. Yay). Enjoy! /////// ... TIL IT'S RAW Hi.
