Goldeneye is da bomb, but I think it's success has meant that the PS2 games have the problem of trying to emulate Goldeneye, so much so that the games are now just standard FPS.
For the next Bond game, I wouldn't mind seeing a Metal Gear Solid style game.
...full of energy. Multi-orgasmic, if you will, in a cosmic sort of way."
Goldeneye was the king. Now, if I play a FPS, I gotta go with CounterStrike.
I think that a Bond game along the lines of MGS would be pretty cool too, A-Mol, but I also think that adding a few traits from the N64 game Mission: Impossible would be acceptible as well. Granted, MI was in dire need of fine tuning and polishing, but they had some decent ideas in the game.
Kane gets flustered that he didn't get to do something silly this week. Ho hum.
Goldeneye set the standard for console FPS and also showed people how much fun 4 player multiplayer is. Perfect Dark improved upon the formula by adding bots. Timesplitters 2, as much as I like it, just cannot compete. I'm spoiled by that damn Warthog from Halo. Until other games give me vehicles that me and my friends can hop in to go kill other people with, Halo is the king of FPS. That's not to say that Halo wasn't a seriously flawed game - it was, but it did give me something new to play with.
As for Counterstrike? *sigh* Am I the only one who gets sick of the lack of teamwork and the pointlessness of the objectives in that game? If not, go download Natural Selection (natural-selection.org) and play one of the best damn games out there right now.
Goldeneye, excellent one player game, the crown jewel of multiplayer games. Mario Party's 1 - 4 are also great multiplayer games. I play Mario Party with my girlfriend, her brother, and his girlfriend, oh at times my cousins or sisters, i know it sounds childish, but those games are realy fun. now if you're in a kill and have fun with your friends, bond for the n64 is your game. ; )
The Stars are Upside Down.
Oklahoma State Cowboys: 2 - 1, do I smell the return to being ranked? Damn Nebraska...Oklahoma, November 1, 2003, 3 peat?
Goldeneye, as has been stated repeatedly here, is the King Shit of FPS's. Agreed about making one kinda like MGS, but I kinda wish they'd go back to the good FPS model (where's the team that did Goldeneye?).
