Am I alone in getting a kick out of this "forced charisma" gimmick Lance Storm has at the moment?
I mean, the whitest-of-white-guy dancing and grooving, kissing Jackie Gayda, the goofy smiling and the new funky West Coast-ish hip-hop theme and Goldust being his "personality coach" and everything?
Sure it will probably go in the annals of Big Show Impersonates Superstar X from 2000 and it won't take him anywhere but damned if I didn't think this was pretty funny.
You're right - Lance's new character could go the way of Wacky Big Show. It will probably end up along side Norman Smiley's "screaming hard core" gimmick in that it will get him mid-card over and never go any further.
I don't think Lance's new-found charisma is "forced" though. He seems more like the dork who is way too excited about being accepted and takes his goofiness a little too far.
I hope that they bring Scotty 2 Hotty back so that we can see Lance Storm do the Worm. Heck, they could redo the whole Too Cool thing by bringing Rikishi to RAW and replacing Grandmaster Sexay with Grandmaster Storm.
My Calgary Flames are currently tied for first place overall with a record of 0-0-0-0. It's training camp, but it's a start, right?
It would be nice to see Lance try this for a couple of months, then start to snap like Chris Benoit, turn on Goldust and turn into a total bad ass. Might turn his character into a Chris Jericho type, goofy but still capable of dishing out a beating.
Are you ready for Mahkan-mania to run wild all over you?

That's the best idea I've heard so far. No bogus charimsa, no Goldust, no bringing back Dawn Marie (which seems to resurface every now and then)...I could see Storm and Christian working very well as a follow-up, not unlike Benoit and Guerrero last summer.
I long for the day that Storm could be traded back to Smackdown. At least if he was having meaningless matches on Smackdown, they'd be against guys he could have damn good matches with.
I've been saying from the beginning that I think Storm will eventually snap. Seeing how goofy his current character is confirms that belief. Storm himself has been saying that the angle is leading somewhere good (but giving no indication where that would be) and I don't think that the current stage of the gimmick is the end.
There's potential to allow it to develop in such a way that Storm can be considered a serious contendor again, just need to be careful they actually DO take it somewhere.
Too often, angle and gimmicks are dropped in the middle without a pay off.
I enjoyed the article Blake Norton wrote a month or so back, sometimes I feel WWE fails to study the strenghts and weakness of its performers and play to them.
Storm is never going to set the crowd alight through mic work or backstage skits, but he can earn the respect of the fans with his in ring work, just as Benoit is allowed to do so.
Good point; Angle should have the right of first rematch, and for that matter last night was at least the third time in his career that he's lost a title without being pinned or made to submit. No doubt both of those things will annoy Angle to no end.
