-Superstar Billy Graham- An interesting piece. Says Ventura and Hogan bit his style. Seems proud to admit that he was the start of flash over substance, for better or worse. After hearing how sick he was, I was surprised how in tune he was. His mind and speech seems to still be there.. Graham says his career took a major hit when he lost the belt to Backland and never really recovered. Next week: Life after WWE.

-Ivory the thespian- Ivory's always a good watch. Interesting program in having kids write up scripts and having actors (and cast members from MadTV haha) act it out.

-OutSide The Ropes: Al Snow-This was up there with Y2J as the best Outside the ropes ever! Lance Storm was the very "exciting" interviewer with Goldust as his excitement motivator. The questions & answers were funny but what made it great is the looks they gave eachother especially Snow to Storm who no-sells all of Snow's witty lines & Goldust interaction. Too funny... Lance asks who first gave Al Head. Al response "Mikey Whipwreck & Dreamer backstage in ECW". Storm looks at him pure stoneface & says "That can't be a good thing." Al says"I don't know about that, it might help YOU out" Storm responds "You think it might help loosen me up?". So immature but came off funny. Also love the Al vs. Avatar vs. Shanobi vs. Leaf Cassidy who would win IN THEIR PRIME. Did they have a Prime? Snow & Storm question LoL. If Confidential segments got stars this would be 5*, but I don't' play that so I'll just say it was Great!

-Diva Search-They show the final 4. I like the girl from Denmark, I like the accent, she looked much better live then on the photos. How did Terri from Detroit get this far? The 2 brunettes kinda look the same, ones Canadian the other isn't. A girl went to powerbomb Josh & dropped him on his head and all the wrestler yelled at her "You F'ed up You F'ed Up!". It's a wrestlers dream, telling a fan that they f'ed up(well the chant didn't happen but would have been funny). Canadian gal Jamie wins just because she wants it more, you could just tell... Quickly get her in the studio before she changes her mind. All things on her seems to be in position, she actually looks pretty good. Looks like younger Dawn (not that Dawn is old by any means). Jamie says Trish Stratus inspires her. I love it when girls are inspired by Trish, now check the bruises up & down Trish's arm & see if you are inspired to get in the ring.

-Vault: Bret vs. Shawn- Dammit Mysterio. Confidential has shown this match and dissected as much as possible, why do you want to see it again. Just wait a month, they'll do another story on this... Mysterio is like the guy who calls up the music request line and requests a current Top 10 hit, Jebus dude wait a hour, they'll overplay it for you then dont' take up the request hour with it!

-What's Dawn been up to- Ahh look what happens when TorrieBerg finishes with you. Poor poor Dawn. Just kidding, she's not really a stripper. Well kinda not LoL... I do find it a bit surreal Dawn just standing around having a conversation with her arm over her chest, I though for sure someone would say "Hey Dawn" and she'd wave with her occupied arm. Raw Magazine has a special Diva's issue with Trish, Stacy, Lita and Gail??? What the.. That's a surprise, but surprises are okay. Even though if there was a surprise I'd like it to be Victoria.

Great show tonight. First half hour was solid. Graham story was interesting, Ivory is a ball of fun and Snow, Storm & Goldust was a riot, Lance's best stuff in a year, at least... Diva Search and photoshoot had good fluff, lucky they edit out most of final contest that was a mess LoL I think this girl is only getting a photoshoot and not a WWE career. It's good to see Dawn but one T&A fluff is enough per show for me. Could have gone without seeing Hard and Michaels AGAIN. But very entertaining confidential, best one in months.

I have to admit, I thought the Superstar was dead. When we finally got the WWF programming regularly in the sticks he was doing the angle where he was rehabbing from an injury in the Arizona desert, got frustrated with his walker, threw it down in disgust and kept inching forward in the heat. I can't even remember if he came back to actually wrestle or not, but that was the last time I even remember him on WWF programming (I didn't watch much from '91 to '96), so I might have missed it if he did.

I just assumed he was no longer with us, so yes I was surprised to see how good he appeared on the show last night. Of course, we just saw him sitting, so maybe he has to use the walker for real now . . .

Superstar DID come back to wrestle. I remember those promos very clearly. He only had a few squash matches and won with a backbreaker submission (which at the time looked to be a weak finisher and lame way to end the match).

He got into a tussle with Butch Reed, I believe. But in the end, he began standing in Don Muraco's corner. Muraco was awesomely built, that's for sure. He and his steroids put Graham to shame, and I actually liked The Rock's matches. I was so letdown when Muraco lost in the first round of the Wrestlemania IV championship tourney... was it to Greg The Hammer Valentine??

It was weird how they were splicing old WWWF footage of Graham in with 1985 NWA footage, when Billy Graham turned face on Number One Paul Jones and abandoned the karate gi for the tie-dye.

Ummm... actually, Rock won by DQ (IIRC) the first round of the Wrestlemania IV tournament, beating Butch Reed. It's when he went to the next round that he lost to "Das Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, who defeated "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan in the first round.

You might be thinking of Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, who actually lost to Greg "The Hammer" Valentine in Round 1.

ObSemiOnTopic: Why was it that, when Billy Graham returned to the WWF circa 86-87, they first used "Bad to the Bone" by George Thorogood (sic?) as his entrance music, then switched to the theme from "Jesus Christ Superstar"?

I don't remember the Jesus Christ Superstar music, but "Bad to the Bone", definitely. Such an odd choice, the JCS theme.

Yeah, you're right. Muraco won in the 1st round. I was rooting for him to go far, but I guess I confused his loss with the injustice I felt when Valentine moved on. If I recall correctly, Valentine won cheaply - either with a handful of tights or by using Jimmy's megaphone (the best foreign object ever used in wrestling).

Graham used Bad to the Bone in Mid-Atlantic after his face turn. Probably because he was quoting lines from his interviews from Thorogood songs (or if you prefer, old Bo Diddley or Muddy Waters songs).

"I got a cobra snake for a necktie, etc."

I don't remember him using BttB in the WWF, only JCS.

Actually, JCS would be a cool entrance song, especially if you nickname was "superstar."

The thing I remember most from his WWF tenure is wrestling a match with his earrings still in and one of them cutting his cheek.

Noticed that as well, as the David Crockett interviews and the refusal to become a member of Paul Jones' Army was early '85. Seemed a little out of place when they were having Billy Graham give a day by day appraisal of the end of his world title reign at the same time. Only thing that could have made the Paul Jones segment better was if somehow Bugsy McGraw had become involved in some manner.

I'm not sure that Al Snow's Outside the Ropes had me laughing quite as hard as Big Show's, but it was definitely up there. Now if only Lance had busted out a question about the Penis Suplex...

The angel/devil costume was a nice touch by Jaime.

I wonder if Rey really wanted to see that match again or it was "we have to show this again, come on Misterio say something about shawn's high-flying and bret's wrestling."

I would love to see a Superstar Billy Graham DVD, I saw his comeback stuff around '87 when I was a boy, but before that I saw alot of video packages, and only a few clasic matches. I thought and still do think he is awesome, he was the greatest at the promo game, he was so cool I didn't mind the lack of of in-ring skills.

Why is it that everybody assumes that when you see a WWE Superstar come on and announce "my choice", that they really did go to the wrestler and say "Hey, Rey, what do YOU want to see on Confidential this week" rather than "Hey, Rey, we need an intro for the Montreal screwjob match, read this." It's a WORK, man. Don't blame the wrestler.

That said, I'd have been happy to see the match there if they would have actually *showed* it. They never showed complete matches on From The Vault, but they used to show enough that you could get into it. Now it's a couple of quick highlights and the finish. Why bother?

It's getting to the point where I might not even bother leaving Confidential on in the other room so I can catch the Vault segment.

The Vault is usually the only thing or one of two things on the show that the serious wrestling fan cares about. Give us a break, WWE.

They wouldn't wanted to have cut out those thrilling Ivory and DivaSearch segments, though, to actually show a full classic match. No one wants to see great classic matches, they want fluff.

The best part of the Snow/Storm segment was when Goldust came in and said "WHO THE HELL IS LIEF CASSIDY?" I laughed for a solid minute. Great stuff!

As for the Superstar Billy Graham segment, I had never seen the match with him and Bruno, so that made the segment a winner for me. And, any time I can see Old School Bob Backland, I am a happy camper!

Getting close on Don Muraco's WMIV tournament showing. Muraco beat Dino Bravo in the first round by DQ. Bravo grabbed the ref and pulled him in the way of a Muraco shoulderblock. Muraco then lost his second round match to Ted DiBiase. Butch Reed lost by pinfall to Randy Savage in the first round.
