I'll catch a repeat (one of thousands, I bet)...

But did I mention how much I LOATHE 24p? Anyway, I'm happy that Missy Elliot did win an award finally; I've always thought that her videos were off-kilter enough to win at least a Breakthrough award (if they still have that) if nothing else.

Cash got shut out; common MTV you had a chance to honor one of the most influential artists of all time and you dropped the ball. Unfortunately, considering his health, it was their only chance as well.

Now you will receive us.
We do not ask for your poor, or your hungry.
We do not want your tired and sick.
It is your corrupt we claim.
It is your evil that will be sought by us.
With every breath, we shall hunt them down.
Each day we will spill their blood, 'til it rains down from the skies.
Do not kill. Do not rape. Do not steal. These are principles which every man of every faith can embrace.
These are not polite suggestions, these are codes of behavior, and those of you that ignore them will pay the dearest cost.
There are varying degrees of evil. We urge you lesser forms of filth, not to push the bounds and cross over, in to true corruption, into our domain.
For if you do, one day you will look behind you and you will see we three, and on that day you will reap it.
And we will send you to whatever god you wish.

CHEERS to MTV for the open mouth kiss between Britney and Madonna.

JEERS to MTV for showing Justin Timberlake while Madonna kissed Christina.

'But if one is struck by me only a little, that is far different, the stroke is a sharp thing and suddenly lays him lifeless, and that man's wife goes with cheeks torn in lamentation, and his children are fatherless, while he, staining the soil with his red blood, rots away, and there are more birds than women swarming about him.' While they f'd up on the Christina kiss, seeing Justin's reaction was worth it's weight in platinum. That was by far the funniest thing I've seen since John Candy, God love 'em, came out during a Canadian awards show while somebody was speaking and held up a sign that said "ARGO TICKETS" and the number to call.

I think somebody needs a Mattitude adjustment.

I read somewhere else that Family Guy's Stewie made an appearance on the preshow (which I didn't see). Can anyone confirm that?

There we have MTV ripping off WWE, proving that WWE is still on the cutting edge. I always knew that HLA was a winner!

Yup. They had a series of guys reviewing comparisons between Eminem and 50 Cent (Queer Eye's Carson, Robert Englund, Stewie, Simon Cowell).

Stewie's was best, tho. STEWIE FOR GOVERNOR!

OK, I guess I hallucinated this.

I thought Cash won an award during the pre-show.

If he did get a preshow award then the VJ miss-spoke on the post show when he stated that Cash despite being up for four awards didn't win any. I only caught the tail end of the show so I took his word for it.

Considering he was up for more than four, it wouldn't surprise me if the VJ screwed up. Who was it, anyway? Kurt Loder (who they apparently only drag out of cold storage for VMA ceremonies)? That Fucking Tool John Norris?

Cash's video won for Best Cinematography, which is actually more of an award for director Mark(?) Romaneck than it is Johnny Cash.

That's okay, we all know that Johnny Cash is a legendary artist who has been quoted by such musical geniuses as Charles Manson, and to see Cash cover Trent Reznor - one of the best composers of our time - was pretty cool in and of itself.

Missy Elliot's music video, which really only had the video part, winning was a sham, but I guess that's the point of these specials full of totally unforgettable MTV moments that I look forward to MTV saluting itself for in the years to come.

These MTV Moments are truly what makes life living for.

Ok, I just watched the video clip...thanks for liking that...after hearing all the talk about this today. (Iwasn't home to watch it) and that seemed pretty tame. The way people in my office were talking I thought it was a long drawn out french between the two. Not that I'm complaining though.

First Fred Durst, now Dave Navarro. Go Christina!

This was probably the least exciting show in quite a few years. Chris Rock looked like he got real tired towards the end, and the production was pretty much third rate. Nothing after The Kiss was all that much fun. Even Jack Black couldn't save this thing. Also, it was kinda strange to see one of these things with so little Eminem-related content, after the last couple of years. I guess that's what 50 Cent was there for.

Y'know, Dave Navarro played with Christina Aguilera, and was still more metal than Metallica was.

My sister made this YouTube video a little while ago, as a response to a challenge I made. She's very proud of it, and I love it myself, so I thought y'all might enjoy it, too. Especially if you're a Star Trek fan.
