Show starts with no pyro as Angle's music hits immediately and he comes out. He's pissed and wants Brock now. He doesn't want a match, as that's Sunday at SummerSlam. He wants a fight. McMahon comes out and says he's not gonna get a fight against Brock. Angle then wants McMahon. Not gonna happen. In fact, if you get involved with or touch Brock or himself all night, he's stripped of the title and fired. But if he wants a fight, he can fight the Big Show. Out comes Big Show and they fight with Angle getting the better of Show until refs break it up. Really good opening segment with Angle throwing out some things that are going to have to be bleeped out and showing some really good intensity here.

Backstage, Show is pissed and throwing things around. McMahon calms him down and says the fight is going to be a street fight where falls count anywhere.

Matt Hardy and Rey Misterio had a decent match. Rey won with the West Coast Pop after Zach hobbled down to ringside and smacked Matt with his cane as Matt was going off the ropes. The West Coast Pop on Matt is absolutely BRUTAL! Matt came down with force right on his head. We got no 'X' sign from the ref, and Matt left under his own power, so he was alright.

Backstage, Brock comes into Vince's office wondering why it's such a mess. Vince explains how show is pissed, but he's gonna take it out on Angle in their "fight" tonight. Speaking of which, since Angle has an opponent tonight, it's only fair that Brock has one too. It should be an opponent equal to Angle's, of course, so Brock vs. Zach is set up. Brock promises to break Zach's leg. "Not his fake leg. His one good leg."

Michael Cole interviews Zach's mom at ringside. She is scared for Zach and doesn't know why somebody would want to hurt her son and break his leg.

Basham Brothers d. Gunn and Noble. Short match, thankfully. Gunn takes out one of the Bashams with a Fame'Asser, but Shaniqua breaks up the count. Nidia and Torrie attack her, but she destroys them both with a double clothesline, which got a good pop. During this, the other Basham snuck in, rolled the other out and played dead. He then small packages Noble for the win.

Zach runs into Brock backstage and Brock wishes him luck.

Brock absolutely destroys Zach drawing a DQ win for Zach when Brock smashes him with a chair. Brutal blade job here. Brock F-5's Zach into the ring post twice right in front of his mother, who is yelling at Brock to stop the whole time. After the second F-5, she jumps the rail to check on her son and the medics come out to stretcher him out. As, he's being stretchered out, Brock tips him over.

John Cena comes out with a GREAT rap on Detroit. Joe Louis arena is the world's largest crack house, Detroit's people only look good in a blackout, and Detroit has more rednecks than Jerry Springer. Classic.

John Cena & A-Train d. Undertaker and Orlando Jordan. This was kept quite short. UT dominated most of the match and had Cena up for the Last Ride when A-Train came in and hit UT with Cena's chain in the ribs. Cena falls on top of UT for the pin.

Backstage, Sable finds A-Train and fondles his chest saying that Mr. McMahon wanted her to personally thank him for taking out Stephanie. She was running her hands through his hair and groped his boobens then gave him her hotel key card. It was disturbing.

Eddie/Rhyno d. Benoit/Tajiri. Unfortunately, this was kept short as well, but it was fun while it lasted. Ultimately Rhyno gets the pin with a gore on Tajiri. After the match, Eddie hits Benoit with the belt leaving him laying. As he and Rhyno are celebrating and getting ready to leave, he hits Rhyno with the belt. He's about to leave again, and he comes back and hits Tajiri with the belt just as he was recovering from the Gore. Eddie Rules.

Kurt Angle d. Big Show in their Street Fight. My whole section was expecting the "street fight" to spill over to the floor in front of the stage right in front of us, because before the match started, the concrete there was lit as if there was going to be action there. We were all excited about this, but they stayed in the ring or around ringside for the entire match. Early on in the match, a table was set up in the ring and teased a few times, but then the action spilled to the outside. The steps are set up in front of the announce table as Show tries to chokeslam Angle from the steps as he did to Brock awhile back, but that doesn't work. Eventually, Angle gets Show in the Ankle Lock on the outside as Show's upper body was on the steps. Show is then placed on the announce table and Angle comes off the steps with a chair under his legs in an "Arabian Face Buster" type move, for those familiar with Sabu. Only gets two. Back in the ring, they fight a bit more and Angle finally gets the Olympic Slam through the table for the win. Brock comes out afterwards, but just stays at the top of the aisle and there's a stare down. The End.

Got these Velocity/dark match results off another board:

Dark matches: Mortis d. ?. I missed the guys name, but he lost. Mortis (Kanyon) won with the forward falling electric chair drop.

'Textbook' Tyson Dux d. Matt Butacelli - I know Dux's opponent's name is spelled wrong. There seemed to be a good number of MXPW / BCW fans in my area as Dux got a pretty good pop. Tyson won the match.

    Velocity

Billy Kidman d. Shannon Moore. Good Velocity match, Kidman won with a top rope sunset flip bomb after Moore climbed up to stop Billy's SSP attempt.

Sean O'Haire d. Funaki. Short match, not really any different than previous ones they've done on Velocity. O'Haire won with his finisher (The Betrayal? The inverted DVD).

FBI (Palumbo and Stamboli) d. 'Showtime' Eric Young and Bobby Rude. Typical Jobber tag team vs Local enhancement tag team match. Palumbo pinned Young after Jungle Kicking him in the back of the head.

Bradshaw d. Shelton Benjamin. They seemed to be setting up some sort of feud between APA and WGTT, but nothing materialized on SD!. Actually seemed like a decent match live, Bradshaw won with the Clothesline from Hell.

--I guess they're going to let Kanyon use the Mortis gimmick.
--another FBI win = awesome.
--Bradshaw over Benjamin? BULLSHIT. I am *so not* looking forward to a possible APA/WGTT feud.

Yeah, I wasn't really paying too much attention during the Velocity tapings. We arrived late and got there in the middle of the "Textbook" Tyson Dux match. My girlfriend made a Textbook sign because she loved him the last time we saw him in a dark match back in October. Unfortunately we got there too late and missed his match, so she didn't get to show him her sign.

The Kidman match was alright, but people were still getting to their seats so I missed a bunch of it.

We went to the consession stands during the FBI match, but decided against a $7 beer and $4 hot dog.

I was actually entertained by the Bradshaw/Benjamin match. Bradshaw pulled off some good offense, and TSPWGTT are always good. However, that doesn't mean I want an APA/TSPWGTT feud.

I see Ultimo didn't wrestle last night.

He could've wrestled Tyson Dux but instead he wasn't used.

Sucks.

Well, I'm piggybacking a little here to talk about this week's Impact, but I figure there's no need to start a new thread. This was a very good week wrestling wise, with Styles/Abyss and the X Games qualifer both very good.
