Just saw these on Observer. Not the most detailed results or most well written report, but i'm sure there'll be lots of talk about this show:
Dark Matchs
MORTIS over jobber
Ultimo Dragon over jobber
Velocity:
Matt Hardy over Orlando Jordan Nunzio over Sho Funaki Johnny Stambol/Chuck Pulumbo over jobbers Sean O'Haire over Kenny Anderson
Smackdown:
Vince starts off the show and introduces the REAL Brock Lesner, also said that Kurt Angle is back home recovering from last week, and steph comes out to confront Vince about Vengeance and then Vince sets up the Steph vs A train match
TWGTT over Rey Mysterio Jr./Billy Kidman GREAT MATCH, probally just as good as the PPV match. The ending looked botched, maybe they will edit it, dunno
Danny Basham over Billy Gunn
Big Show over Undertaker via Count Out, A Train attacked Taker in the crowd
Tajiri over Rhyno, Benoit/Guerrero were doing guest commentary
John Cena over Zach Gowen
Spanky over Brock Lesner via DQ, this was basically the Hogan v/s Lesner match, prior to Summerslam '02, Spanky giged hardcore and Lesner wiped the blood on his chest.
A Train over Steph, taker came out, but Big Slow and Atrain attacked him and thus allowed Atrain to get the victory over Steph.
----------------------
The return of Mortis?? A-Train vs. Steph as the main event? I'm sure the tag title match and Rhyno/Tajiri should be good. But what in the hell? And i'm curious as to who or what "The Real" Brock Lesnar is like.
This is the Observer so I assume this isn't a false report, right? It might be better if it really was fake though. :\
Man, fuck this shit. Kidman still hasn't turned on Rey! It looks like we'll see them go against WGTT again at the Slam and maybe (if the stars align just right) see an actual cruiserweight title defense two months from now at the SD! PPV. Bleah.
It looks like they're setting up a four-way for the US title. Good deal.
And I like Mortis coming back. Kanyon ain't going anywhere in WWE.
The tag title match looks great on paper and I agree that it looks like WWE is setting up a 4-way for the U.S title. This week's show didn't look too bad...
But who in their right freakin mind thinks a STEPHANIE MCMAHON/A-TRAIN main event is a good idea??? Is THIS what they think will make people start watching? I mean, this must be some kind of rib, right? Ha HA! That's a good one, Meltz. So what's the real main event?
(silence)
Uh...ok, I guess he's NOT joking.
LS: Can you make me exciting? GD: I don't know. Can you get me back on TV?
Eh. I'm "whatever" towards to whole McMahon clan. Main events haven't been consistently entertaining in a long time. I don't care if they stick sports entertainment (or interviews or skits) in its slot.
But the A-Train match puts Undertaker back in the same universe as Stephanie. What are the odds they'll acknowledge the "dark wedding" and "higher power"? 'Cause I'm guessing a hundred fucking million to one that they don't.
Ah well.

(edited by Notorious F.A.B. on 13.8.03 0302) It's just you against the group mind.
Are we soon to see the return of Glacier and the whole Blood Runs Cold scenario?
nah, probably just the laser light show thing. in fact, goldust could have lance storm dress up as glacier the next time he comes to the ring. not that glacier was really that exciting or anything either though..:P
No Kurt Angle, Benoit and Guerrero not wrestling and the A-Train/Steph main event aren't signs of a Good Smackdown.
I have a feeling that the Smackdown Satire will be better than the actual show.

If they play Mortis the way WCW *tried* to parody Glacier in thier dying days, I think it might just be crazy enough to work. But they'll probably make him all serious and everything, which sucks.
Anyways, nice to have you back, Heel Brock.
Kain Interview: the first since he's been unmasked!!! Major changes to SummerShow main event!!! All this plus an interview with Kain in the latest Inside The Ropes!!!
But who in their right freakin mind thinks a STEPHANIE MCMAHON/A-TRAIN main event is a good idea???
Stephanie and/or Vince McMahon.

Screw that. Yeah, Kanyon is good in a comedy role, but at least try to make him into a serious (serious as in "legit. wrestler", not as in "solemn demeanor") mid-card player before relegating him to a nothing role. He's got the size, moves, and skills to be a contender for the US Title.
Holy crap! All 3 FBI members pick up victories.
Looks like the Taker/Cena feud is done. Way to put over Cena, Marky-Mark.
Looks like an OK show. The opening tag match will probably be enough to make the show better than Raw.

Where was the taping this week? I wonder if that's the Ken Anderson who lives in Minnesota, and is one of our franchise guys who's done WWE work before.
He looks a LOT like Cena did when he debuted, only with blond hair. Now that Cena's got the rapper gimmick, can there be room for Kamikaze Ken Anderson? C'mon, WWE!
Star wipe, and...we're out. Thrillin' ain't easy.

Funny, the Torch has a completely different set of spoilers (and ones which sound a lot better than this show). I think someone's playing the Fake Spoiler Game. They've got a lot more detail, but basically it boils down to:
Mysterio over Hardy and Nunzio, triple threat CW title match Gunn over O'Haire Gowan and Spanky over Bashams Cena over Jordan WGTT over APA, tag title match Guerrero over Tajiri, US title match Benoit over Rhyno, submissions match Undertaker over A-Train Sable over Dawn Marie and Nidia, bikini contest Angle over Show and Lesnar, triple threat WWE title match

That sounds like one of the house shows..hmmm..
There are 10 types of people in this world. Those who know binary, and those who don't.
Duh. It was a house show. Sorry, and just mark me down a F for reading comprehension today.
Still, I'd rather watch that than A-Train/Stephanie any day.

It's preempted here in Philly again (it'll be on Saturday at 10PM), but from the sound of things, I'll come for The World's Greatest Tag Team and stay for the REAL Brock. I had a feeling the main event would be that. All I'll say is, it's their company, I respect them a lot, they do what they want. But, Steph in the main event AGAIN?! Do us all a favor and book the damn rematch for summerslam already with Sable, and spare us this stuff.
(edited by Ringmistress on 13.8.03 0808) 1200 bitches and counting....

Amen. I have no real problem with Vince being in high profile storylines as in spite of his faults he does seem able to attract heel heat like no other.
Steph on the other hand? A month or so at the top fair enough, but sweet golly am I getting sick of the sight of her now. She was doing so well as the less oft seen of the 2 GM's, and then they had to go and fiddle with things didn't they?
Benoit and Guerrero both doing commentary on Tajiri/Rhyno should be interesting. If the daughter of Vince McMahon has a match at SummerSlam, that will mean that 2 of the (in all likelihood) 8 matches on the second biggest card of the year will involve non-wrestlers. Didn't we already see Taker vs. Albert already this year?
Cubs, White Sox and Red Sox fans unite. Its time to overthrow the German Government and re-install our beloved Kaiser. Remember, Kaiser ='s World Series victories.
Wow. Vince brings back the REAL Brock Lesnar, and puts him in a match with THEMONSTERSPANKY?
So, the REAL Brock Lesnar is the one who had to "pay his dues" in crappy low-profile jobber matches for eternity like all the smarks seemed to want him to do back in the day? (:

Nah, they most likely put Lesnar against Spanky because he's the loveable underdog and bumps his ass off. It makes Brock look like more of a heel when he beats the shit out of someone like Spanky as opposed to Benoit or Bradshaw.
Hard to say anything new about the PPV other than what folks have said. In a word: AWEXOME. I was watching it with two non-fans (my sister and her husband)
