Anybody who doesn't watch the weekend shows really should definitely read Cub's recaps of them. (Even if he only occasionally links to them from Wienerboard. :-) ) They're doing some good stuff on the weekends these days, & Cubs is a damn fine recapper. This has been an unpaid, unsolicited testimonial.
Hey! That takes the count up to a whopping 5 people who saw WWA:Reckoning! Awright!
The tecnicos are jumped during their entrance, and get in no offense at all. Mephisto and Averno get a double team submission on Tinieblas. The only move of note was Averno placing V-4 across the top turnbuckle and slingshotting Mephisto into an axehandle. Bestia then submits V-3 to an armbar/Half-Boston combo. (2:47)
At the whistle as Tineiblas is double teamed by Averno & Mephisto. Drop toe-hold by Averno, and Mephisto puts on a camel clutch for Averno to dropkick him in the face. V-4 also takes a double team, but it becomes one-on-one with Bestia after a flapjack from the rudos. Bestia quickly dropkicks out V-4. V-3 tries to get the one-on-one thing going with Salvage, but the remaining rudos jump in. The expected happens though when Mephisto holds V-3 for Averno to hit him. V-3 takes over, and splatters Salvage with a dive off the ring apron. The remaining rudos fall quickly, as Mephisto gets sunset flipped by V-4, and Tinieblas puts Averno in an upside down bearhug. (2:35)
Mephisto gets armdragged several times to start the third fall, before he just slaps down V-4. Nothing much of note during Averno and Tinieblas sequence, save for a nice bump from Averno when he is WOW-Catapulted to the floor. Bestia and V-3 trade slaps. Bestia then misses a cross body and flies outside. Mephisto comes in and gets DDT'd. Avenro looks to get the same fate, but Bestia comes from behind and fouls V-3 for the DQ. (2:54)
67 rating.
2. Felino vs. Juventud Guerrera
Juventud looks like he skinned a muppet for his coat.
For once, they don't edit out the chain wrestling sequence that starts the first fall. It's mainly Felino focusing on Juvy's arm with a bunch of takedowns thrown in for the first part, putting on holds that Juventud can't counter his way out of. Eventually, Juventud has enough and levels Felino with a short-arm clothesline. After that, it is a Fireman's Carry into a Diamond Cutter. Juvy moves onto the arm, but can't get a submission, as Felino tries unsuccessfully to bridge out. Both get to their feet. Off the ropes is Juventud, until Felino dropkicks his knees out from under him. Felino dropkicks Juventud outside the ring, then jumps outside with a Victory Roll on the floor. Things return to the ring, where Juventud is met with a chop. But Guerrera does get in a couple clotheslines, but ends up being powerbombed. Felino goes for another, but Juventud obviously learned something from all those Kidman matches. One Scorpion Death Lock later, Juventud is up 1 fall to zero. (5:23)
Juvy starts off catching Felino with a spinning heel kick. That's followed with Juvy tilt-a-whirling aroud Felino and DDTing the tecnico. An elaborate sequence on the floor ends when Juvy drop toeholds Felino, and Felino clocks his head on the apron. Headscissors on the floor after that. Back to the ring, Juvy gets tripped up, and Felino dropkicks him in the face. Later, Juvy tries to climb up the buckles after catching Felino with a high kick. They jostle on the top ropes, and Felino belly-to-bellies Juvy off the top. Felino holds onto the legs, and puts on an inverted Figure-Four (Juvy's on his chest instead of his back) for the submission. (2:35)
The third fall starts of with a Felino rana. Felino then clotheslines Juvy outside, and somersaults off the buckles onto him. They do blow a sunset flip spot when they return to the ring, but they recover beautifully, with Felino bridging for a near fall. Juvy gets up and clotheslines down Felino. They trade near falls for a bit, then Juvy sets up Felino on the top rope (not the buckles), and springboards off the buckles with a rana. Both men go for leglocks, but each gets theirs blocked. Juvy shoves away a Magistral, double leg takedowns Felino, and goes for another Scorpion. Felino manages to slip out, but he gets kicked outside. Juvy delivers a pescado. Felino is rolled back into the ring, and catches Juvy with a sunset flip powerbomb to the floor. Felino goes up the turnbuckles, and planchas Juventud, but Juvy meets him with a dropkick. Both crawl back in the ring, and Juvy gets 2. Juvy also gets 2 of a Death Valley Driver, and off a Juvy Driver. Felino staggers up by the turnbuckles. Guerrera charges, but his dropkick misses. Felino backs Juvy onto the top-rope, and gets the pin with a top-rope Splash Mountain, to successfully defend the CMLL Welterweight title. (5:56)
Really good match. Felino's last big singles match was a highly disappointing match with Black Warrior, but they hit everything here, and the one blown spot was covered for perfectly. Juvy was really good in this too. Worth getting just for his ring entrance attire. 90.

> Hey, this is stuff I did. And other people > did.
Hmmm... I'm going to have to get around to steal all this stuff. Maybe this week. I need to throw off almost a year of CRZ-retirement induced depression and take up all those nice offers from people to allow me to dump it in the History Section.
Now... if I can just find time. It's not like there's anything interesting on tonight...
BTW... is there anyway to get cfgb to pick up Raw and Brew Guy to come out of retirement to do his old fun PPV recaps?
I actually tried to do Bad Blood, and couldn't... By the burping contest I had let loose with more profanity than every other recap I've ever written combined, and couldn't bear to deal with the show a second time.
I can't even begin to imagine the horrors doing RAW would induce.
I start a 12 hour schedule in a few weeks that sees me ALWAYS working on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I actually can't see it being possible time wise regardless. (Thank god.)

Is this going to end the great recaps of TNA that you have been posting? I don't watch anymore (on a budget), but I try to read most of the recaps and yours have been very good.
EDIT: I wanted to give "props" or however the cool kids are saying it now, to Cubs, for very good recaps the past couple of months. Good Job!
If only one other person was still doing recaps, everything would be covered.

tom: Depends on how bored/busy I am watching the show...
jdw: If you're looking to fill in holes, make sure you check the guest sections - there's some RAW recaps and PPVs that they may willing to let you use, provide you ask first.
(I typed this once but it broke twenty gramatical rules. I think I cut it down to five this time.)
Homer: remind me to steal that for the site.
Maybe if I finish proofreading CMLL, I'll figure out the latest list here later. Eh.

{No SmackDown! Recap this week, sorry.} Perhaps I've Brought This Up Before: MTV is running it's great supplementary "the Cast Talks" bits again this year - if you haven't been reading, you've missed Jonah, Kelly and Eric.
