Goldberg's arm infection/injury ruined the buildup to the Summerslam match. He missed 2 RAWs that could have been used to buildup the title match as a HUGE encounter, but now its your typical "Triple H against Former WCW Big Name". Why couldn't Vince or the writers just use Goldberg in those 2 RAWs in a non-wrestling role just to get the ball rolling for the SUmmerslam match?

You do realize that Summerslam is 4 weeks away, right?

Of course I realize that it is 4 weeks away. But a Summerslam TItle match thats only built over 4 RAWs proves my point exactly - its like any other title match on any other PPV. If they really plan on making this an "epic" encounter where HHH may finally lose the title, they should have been booking this, or at least an underlying tone of it, for the last 2 or 3 weeks, plus the next 4 leading to Summerslam.

What I really want to know is why they're completely ignoring the fact that HHH should have sympathy for Goldberg. I mean, Jericho tried to have Goldberg ran over just like he had HHH's dog ran over. Remember Lucy? Why isn't anybody complaining about Vince's revisionist history now?!?

Goldberg matches don't need buildup. You could have Triple H with NO FEUD going into Summerslam, show up at Summerslam, cut a 15 minute promo about how he's the Game, run down all of his accomplishments, then have the music hit, the Man come down. Power move, Spear, Jackhammer - See ya, wouldn't want to be ya...

But that won't happen.

Seriously, they should SHOCK THE WORLD and put Goldberg over HHH clean in a non-title match, Old School Style. No posedowns, or verbal burials, just Goldberg slaughtered Triple H in the middle of the ring; will the Cerebral Assassin adapt, knowing that he could lose the title AT ANY TIME...

Why complicate things?

GB missing two weeks of Raw didn't ruin anything, especially since one of those shows was from Hartreal. With the exception of a few storylines, WWE booking in general has seemed to be on a week-to-week basis since the Invasion. With a lack of long term booking, four weeks is like a blessing.

Yeah, I think 4 weeks is plenty of time for this one to brew. Goldberg has beat the Rock and Jericho so he has somewhat established himself in WWE and has yet to be defeated.
I personally think that they will put Goldberg over HHH.
Then Goldberg could lose the title to Kane or Jericho and set up a fued with a face HHH.
I think WWE is going to try a turn around with Goldberg as champ. If Kane can keep his monster persona going strong then Kane vs Goldberg might be a classic monster match.

and thats all i have to say about that!

Chances are good that the Raw before Summerslam Goldberg will get a clean win over HHH in a tag team match. Then HHH will get his win back on the PPV. I don't see much hope that they are going to change the pattern now, not that I am overly enamoured of Goldberg as the title holder. Is HHH still getting married in October? Maybe he'll give the title up in the PPV before.
