I'm sure we all watched SD and had to turn down the volume when Steph. She sounded awful last night. At first I thought it was my TV set going bad. Here are some things it could be making her voice sound bad. Steph gets dry throats during SD and does not think of drinking a cup of water or she may even get small colds. Steph. has a major smoking habit? Steph's soon to be husband made her get a voice change?

Solution for Steph even though I'm no doctor drink plenty Lemonade it is good for the throat, take cough drops, and cut back on the smoking.

Till Steph puts in very little $$ to fix her voice so it does not sound like Chyna You may have to turn down the volume.

I got one question for you Cajunman. When exactly did Stephanie's voice change? Because it sounds exactly the fricking same and annoying as it always has for like 5 years now.

I thought she sounded really raspy and gargly last night, unlike usual when it's normally just a painful screeching noise. I thought maybe she had a cold or something, though she sounded like my friends who smoke 2 packs a day do when they wake up in the morning.

Sorry to be a jerk, but this is one of my pet peeves:
LEMONS ARE TERRIBLE FOR YOUR THROAT!
It's just an old wives tale that they help. Actually, lemon juice strips your vocal cords and while it will temporarily make yor throat feel better, it is much worse for them in the long run. If you are taking tea for a sore throat, put honey instead of lemon in it. Honey will coat your throat and give it that temporary better feeling without removing layers.

Thus ends your public service announcment for today.

A little bit more speculation:
It could be that the years of "painful screeching" (quote: spf2119) have finally caught up to her. Hypothetically, Steph's years of screeching could lead to either:
1) Nodules - extra scar tissue on one or both vocal folds caused by repeated hard contact, such as one when yells, screams, or tries to talk in a pitch above his/her normal voice.
2) Vocal polyp - Same as a nodule, but could be caused by only one event, and not repeated abuse.

With the little bit of Steph I've heard on Velocity recently, her voice sounds a lot lower than I remember it being and she does get really hoarse when she screeches. The lower voice could be a combination of the smoke and if there is some pathology at the vocal fold level.

Fortunately for you guys n gals watching Smackdown, if she really does have something going on down there, one of the things she'd be recommended is PLENTY of voice rest.

[/dork]

Madness takes its toll. Please have exact change.

Well then how come I always hear about singers and people that sing in the opera use Lemons to keep their voice in tune. You are right about the honey though. Warm apple cidar also works to clean out your throat so it is clear.

Credible sorces tell me she wants to be the momma, in Throw Momma From the Train pt 2.

Seriously speaking, I wonder if the deepening and screeching of the voice is from Steroids? I've heard it discussed a few time before. Her arms look kinda normal, but her legs look like and probably feel like Giant Redwoods. Her face, well, I think she is just more...manly.

"Greg be working", said the Arab mockingly, as he wiggled his toes above the plumbers...crack. Greg was well aware that his wife was having an affair with this foreign man. But, Greg kept working, as per his probation.

Steroids? well Steph has been acting with rage these days going over sofas, jumping into buffets, and jumping on limos but even with the rage from the roids I don't think it would make you sound like a black& decker.

I'm bored as you can see.

Oh Steriods mess up the voice. I've heard interviews with women who've done roids and the voice is alot deeper and has got a screech somewhat similar to what Steph has. Considering who her husband and father is, it's not like she has to go the hang around the back of a Gold's Gym after midnight to find them.

If she's on the juice, she needs to get her money back. Or try something else from HHH's "medicine cabinet." It just sounds like she smokes a lot.

Remember Chyna's voice was from getting hit in the throat, it had nothing to do with steroids. Nope, women naturally produce enough testosterone to look like she did at the beginning.

I'm not so much worried about the screeching, it was those grunting noises and faces she's been making that are very strange.

Lemons are not that bad for your throat. Having been in theatre arts for most of my life, I can tell you that lemon juice is used as a TEMPORARY SOLUTION. It is suppose to be used only when you have to remove mucas off your vocal chords for a more clear voice.

It was never meant to be used all the time. Lemon juice is acidic and with overusage, can damage your vocal chords. But this takes a long time to happen.

For a scratchy voice, use honey for it's coating properties. Scratchy voices usually need something added, not taken away.

Another good remedy (only use this as needed) is to warm up some lemon juice, hold against the back of your throat for at least a minute, then take a teaspoon of honey to coat. This method is only used in extreme situations where clarity of voice is paramount.

Something from your neighborhood Thespian.

LOL, I don't know if she smokes or not. How the hell can steroids affect the voice? I just think the wear and tear of screeching suddenly got to her at last. But, truth be told, I miss the old voice. This new voice is brutal when she's trying to yell. Did you hear her when she was yelling "LET ME IN! LET ME IIIN!" One of the boys thought it was Gamera or something, lol. Seriously though, I do prefer her old voice. I know I'm opening a can of worms, but at least it was feminine?

This has got to be the funniest thread I have read on here in a long time. People discussing the best way to soothe Steph's sore throat, great stuff. Who says the IWC doesn't really care?
