Don't forget Austin has been on ESPN quite a bit over the last five years. They've seemed to have adopted him as their official wrestling diplomat. You are forgetting a big one...one that has had two #1 best-selling books.

As a writer myself, I can assure you that at least in book circles Mick Foley is a household name. I would venture to say not as much as listed above, but moreso than Chyna, Sable or Jake "The Snake".

Also ahead of those three, I would have to put Goldberg and the nWo. The nWo especially considering every major sport at the time had athletes wearing the shirts and whatnot.

Foley, of course! Okay, I officially give up on my little list now... just missing way too many....

Seriously, out of any wrestlers who have had cross-over pop culture success, Foley's the one I respect the most. Not only was his first book the best I've ever read -- wrestling or otherwise, and I do read a LOT of books -- but the way that he acheived mainstream success was commendable.

I believe he is busy filming a re-make of the 70's movie "Walking Tall".

If CRZ doesn't get a cameo in this, it's a f*cking CRIME.

Just for empirical data, I asked my class (12 30-50 yr old men) if they knew who these 4 men were

2 knew who Randy Savage was
1 knew Steve Austin
4 knew who the Rock was
all 12 knew Hulk Hogan
