For me it's a tie between B.I.G.'s One More Chance (remix) The sheer number of guest in the video is amazing. And Madonna's What if feels like for a girl (Paul Oakenfield remix).

Honorable mention goes to, Micheal Jackson's Thriller, P. Diddy's Bad boy 4-life, Fatboy Slim's Weapon of Choice and Praise You.

I think by law there has to be some mention of Peter Gabriel in a thread like this. All of his videos were amazing.

It's easy to see without looking too far

It's gotta be a tie between "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock" -- Twisted Sister videos that defined a generation.

While my loins would direct me to name Shakira's "Whenever Wherever" and demand the conversation be called closed for all time, my mind does take precedence and say that "Do The Evolution" by Pearl Jam was mighty swank looking.

I hate Eminem, but "Stan" was a work of art.

Do you mean that seriously, or in a "so bad it's good" kind of way? That shot at the end, when the kid pulls off his hood or cap or whatever and reveals his bleached hair is hilarious. Not just because of the inappropriately horrified look the woman gives him, but the implied comedy of the little kid surreptitiously bleaching his own hair (and managing to hide it before and through the funeral) and doing so just to reward himself for that triumphant moment to get the look of horror.

For my money, best video has to be AC/DC's Jailbreak, complete with the Muppet Show explosions in the background and the H.R. Puffentstuff police uniforms. Plus, Bon Scott gets to stop the song and talk in the middle, which always earns bonus points.

Thriller and Scream should not be left out. They are two excellent videos.

With that said, my personal favorite is "The Statue Got Me High" by They Might Be Giants. The skateboarding Don Knots astronauts are too much.

It's "Thriller," followed closely by "Weapon of Choice" and Cake's "Short Skirt, Long Jacket."

Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?

A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"

I personally like REM's "Everybody Hurts" as a great concept video, and I'm not sure of the name as I'm not a fan, but there's a Korn video with Todd Macfarlane animation at the start/end with a bullet shooting through things. Thats a great video (whatever it was).

I think the Korn song is "Freak on a Leash" and that is a cool video. One other one that popped into my head actually is "All I Want" by Offspring. I just love the guy running full tilt the entire video, and when he hits the mud puddle dive it feels good to watch.

I've always liked Scream by Mike and Janet Jackson, Where the Streets Have No Name, by U2, Wild Boys by Duran Duran, and The New Pollution by Beck.

But I remember being 13 and seeing "Hot for Teacher" by Van Halen. That was excellent.

Well.

I just was appreciating the quality of the Cee-Lo video, and how funky it is, and then I come back to find the thread to be interepreted as "What is the best video ever?"

Hey, I can live with that.

I really, REALLY hate "Stan". I hadn't heard the song, but had definitely heard all of the "what a great song" and "I don't like Eminem, but "Stan" sure is good" hype.

Then I saw the video. That was some of the most self-absorbed bullshit I've ever heard/seen. (I remember feeling the same way about Kid Rock's Only God Knows Why after liking it at first- one day, it hit me, "Cry me a fucking river, Bob. Must be real tough trying to think of ways to spend that money.")

So anyway, Eminem, get the fuck out of Michigan and take Kid Rock with you. (But leave behind "Lonely Road Of Faith". I also like "My Sacrifice" now, despite knowing how lame it is. I hate the WWF.)

Anyway, you're all wrong. Except Bullitt, aside from his backup choices. (Hey, I *heart* Weapon of Choice and both versions of Short Skirt as well.)

But... yeah. Thriller, followed immediately by November Rain.

I'm glad someone else is having the same problem of being tricked into liking bad songs by the WWF hype machine. I listen to that damn Creed song a lot now, and I HATE Creed. I find myself listening to the Kid Rock song from the video too. Hell, last year I even would listen to that Drowning Pool song and that execrable Limp Bizkit song from WMX7. They just work into your brain with those video packages.

The original, the NYC version, and there's a Canadian version that I believe was done in Toronto.

I really should edit my original list, though...obviously the best video ever is Hip Club Groove's "Shootin' the Gift"...because it's the only video I'm in.
