Well, no hot, throbbing, blatant dog-on-cat sodomy this week... but plenty of the hyperviolent Ren that we've all come to know and love, plus some sizeable helpings of fundamental wrongness.

Anyone back on board?

For some reason, "Man's Best Friend" was supposed to air last night, but it'll air next week.

Anyway, "Ren Seeks Help", was better than last week's drek. Psycho Ren and Mr. Horse made this episode good. Not up to the level of seasons 1-2, but still aright.

Also, "Black Hole", the "classic" R + S shown last night is a very underrated classic.

I was happy with last night's show. It showed that they didn't need to go over the top like they did last week. And I agree with Tom... "Black Hole" is very underrated, but "Stimpy's Invention" is still in my top five.

No, but we DID get some hot chihuahua-on-chihuahua action...

Yeah, but it was HETERO chihuahua-on-chihuahua action, and Ren described Stimpy as "just a friend," which should pacify the "They made them GAY?" crowd somewhat.

Last night "Man's Best Friend" made its long awaited return to TV. The Nick-banned episode was funny, but not one of the better John K. R + S's. I did like Ren's assault on George Liquor, though.

Also, "Powdered Toast Man" rules.

The PTM episodes always got a laugh out of me, just like last night. Something about throwing a plane into a truck to save a cat is just, well, funny.

Last night, there was another new Ren and Stimpy, but they first they showed the classic "Fire Dogs" which is one of my favorite Ren and Stimpys.

"Fire Dogs 2" was another disappointment. Just them in "Ralph Bakishi's" bathroom. Lame. It reminded me of those awful post John K. Ren and Stimpys with the old guy. Worst part is next week is Part II. Maybe it will be better, maybe it won't.

I'm not even going to mention "Ralph Bakishi's Playhouse."

The "classic" that they showed last night, "Untamed World" is another underrated classic.

Fire Dogs 2 was definitely underwhelming -- a couple of cheap laughs, but nothing at all memorable.

His name was Wilbur Cobb.

And I enjoyed Fire Dogs. But Fire Dogs 2 was surreal. However, Stimpy playing the panflute was good for a cheap laugh.

Yeah, that's the old guy's name.

He would've been a good character if John K. was there but he wasn't and as a result, he wasn't that funny.
