The Clippers' collapse continues. Odom will likely pack his bags next. Fuck you, Donald Sterling, for completely dismantling what was once the most promising young team in the NBA.
If Olowokandi can improve his game in the off-season, the T-Wolves will be feared next season.
They might match Brand. But then what? He's stuck in West Bumfuck, playing the next six years for some tightass owner that won't build a team around him... shit. If Brand gets to go to Miami, great for him. You've got Butler, Wade... makings of a good team. Maybe the Clips should sign some of those streetball guys? Smush Parker's not doing badly, last I heard...
If I was Elton Brand, I would've signed a one-year deal just to circumvent the Clippers ability to match the contract. Then he would be a free agent as usual after 03-04. THEN you can sign the six year deal...

The genius of Pat Riley continues. Just when I was beginning to think that the old man had finally lost it, he gets Brand to sign that offer sheet. Signing Brand would be a good move, but the genius lies in the fact that if the Clips match the offer, they won't spend the money to keep their other high-priced restricted free agent, namely Lamar Odom. Welcome to Miami Lamar. Riles has been high on this guy for years now and it looks like he's finally going to get what he wants. And even if things don't work out this way, he still gets Brand. Good move.

This is one of the very rare moments I'm happy that Sterling is a cheap owner, because from what I've heard they won't match the Nuggets' offer to Miller. We'll finally have ourselves some stability at the point.

Odom and high are two words that you hear in the same sentence quite often, I gather.

That's the riskiest thing a player could do. If you go and blow something out your all done. It's hard to leave that kind of money sitting on the table.
