Whose in charge of editing Alex Marvez's interviews on Meltz's site? I thought I'd been drinking, after reading this:

(From January 16, 2003)
Link:

http://www.liveaudiowrestling.com/wo/news/interviews/default.asp?aID=6535

Q: What did you think of the ?twin? Undertakers storyline with Brian Lee in the mid-1990s?
Moody: ?I was kind of iffy about that. I was never high on that whole angle, because at the time, we had Undertaker dying and rising into heaven. At that time, right now don?t mean too much that time a first for everything nothing like thatg ever done before tran lot old timker on road say my goid what doing our business now find myself saying what doing our business. Don?t know. It weird situation.?

Not surprising. Meltzer is in desparate need of an editor for his own stuff as well. His piece on the Montreal Screwjob that is reprinted in the RSPW-FAQ is a total mess.

They may want to consider using a spellcheck before posting. The Friday and Saturday updates were both a mess.

"Of course the wrestlers at that point that were mad at Vince, and then he gave the speech about taking the punch from Hart for them, did work with some in the locker room."

No doubt Meltz, no doubt.

You know what I like to do when I'm at Blockbuster? You know the quick- drop that they have there? I like to stick my penis in there. And then look at the help and say, "Have you seen this, is this any good?"

When you paste from Word to Works to email to the webpage or whatever, stuff done gets screwed up. For some reason I end up with a bunch of extra exclamation points in the Heat report. (The show is not actually that exciting. But the dashes are all mine -- I swear.) But in other cases, you just gotta learn how to speak Dave~.

More like you, are one! Dave is an excellent writer. He just puts out so much content each week that I would assume he spends little time proofreading it, plus when you're overworked you'd tend to make more mistakes. Unless your problem is with the actual idea he's presenting, but dunno why you would be.

You got me on the comeback Shapiro. You so crazy!

Anyway, I agree with Meltzer most of the time. He knows his shit. As far as him not proofreading, there are ways to make sure you are putting out stuff that doesn't have sentences that make little sense. OTHER PEOPLE, for one, could proofread. Also, maybe he could try to lighten his workload a bit. Maybe have Alvarez do some daily posts, or someone new entirely. I don't know, if I were Meltzer, I would take pride in everything I put out for public consumption, but then I'm not Dave Meltzer, am I?

I would think he earns enough money through what he does to pay somebody to edit his material. I'm sure someone would do it for a couple hundred bucks a week and a free subscription. Christ, I'd do it for a couple hundred bucks a week and a free subscription. Take some pride in yer freakin' work.

People (including me) have been saying the same things for years.

My biggest "gripe" these days is that the piecemeal nature of the sheet is growing more obvious. Dave will write something and then write the same thing two paragraphs later. So, I'm guessing he wrote something at time a) and then wrote more later at time b) and didn't check to see if it was already in there.

I also give Dave a lot more slack once I actually publishing stuff. And I only do it quarterly. The sheer magnitude of what he does every single week is quite admirable.

Hmmm, I see what you mean. The sentence structure above is certainly worthy of Da Meltz!

I think he's said before that he doesn't have time to have someone edit the thing. He works on it right up until deadline to try and keep it as current as possible.

After listening to his radio show for a few years now, it's apparent that he writes like he speaks. He often starts a thought then before he finishes, switches to something else.

The website is much worse then the actual newsletter, though. Especially those NWATNA reports he puts up. Alvarez must have some sort of day job and that's why he can't update the site.

I find the use of the word "whose" in this question quite amusing.

He's done fine without an editor for the last 20 glorious years. If it makes YOUR VAGINA hurt so much, don't subscribe.

"Take some pride in yer freakin' work."

He does. And should.

"--Trish Stratus is on the cover of the current issue of Ontario Golf Magazine. She talked about comparisons between wrestling and golf and said he and Booker T played together when they were in England (thanks to Mike Crisolago)"

Yes folks, the reason Trish won't do Playboy RIGHT HERE.

If there is one thing I won't tolerate, it's bringing my vagina into question. Wait. Off the subject. Damn you.

I think they're just blowin' smoke, man. "Problem Lesbian" sounds like a heck of a more interesting gimmick than "Bitter Smark". They've probably got long-term plans for her. Maybe 'Trick just needs a repackaging.
