In this month's issue, while it has an excellent tribute to Classy Freddie Blassie, it also has the WWE Mid-Year Awards. Here are the winners with selected quotes from the summaries.

RAW

Most Outstanding Performer: Triple H

"This year, Triple H has fought off a series of challenges that no champion has ever had to face, and he remains on top."

Most Shocking Moment: Stone Cold Parties With Goldberg

"Stone Cold and Goldberg finally met. Who would have guessed it wquld have turned into a party?"

Biggest Upset: Hurri-Shock For The Rock

"Many thought they would never see the day when The Hurricane would best The Rock. It happened though, and launched The Hurricane to previously unseen heights."

Best Match: Triple H Vs. Ric Flair

"With his legions of fans behind him, the "Nature Boy" nearly won his 17th World Championship from "The Game". He certainly won the fan's hearts and added another signature moment to his long and storied career."

Breakout Performer: The Hurricane

"The Hurricane was given an opportunity and ran with it. The only question now is, when will The Hurricane become World Champion?"

Best Comeback: Kevin Nash

"Nash came back to RAW and immediately went to war with his one-time best friend, Triple H. He showed little ring rust and looked as dominant as he did a decade earlier when he held the WWE Championship. Kevin Nash has been inspiring fans and fellow competitors for years. Known for his quick wit, this year he is leading by example."

Most Heated Rivalry: Stone Cold Steve Austin And Eric Bischoff

"In Austin's first match following his return to WWE, he beat the tar out of Bischoff. Since then, the hatred has only grown between the Texas Rattlesnake and the man that once (or twice, depending on how you look at it) fired him."

Most Inspirational: Theodore R. Long

"We went with a controversial choice: Theodore R. Long. many see him as a grandstanding hate-monger but WWE Magazine decided to look at him as a courageous human being, willing to take on the system and "The Man". For fighting so hard for his cause, Theodore R. Long is our choice for Most Inspirational. Plus, anyone who comes up with the "White Boy Challenge" deserves some award."

Most Hated: Chris Jericho

"His weekly segment, "Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel", is the greatest innovation in sports-entertainment in recent years--and that only makes him more detestable. And you know what? He probably couldn't care less about it."

Best Executive Move: Linda McMahon Names Stone Cold Co-General Manager

"Linda McMahon is known around the world for her business acumen and this move should only add to her legendary status. RAW just wasn't the same without Stone Cold Steve Austin, and thanks to Linda McMahon, it will forever be the best two hours on cable TV."

SMACKDOWN!

Most Outstanding Performer: Brock Lesnar

"Brock has dispelled any rumors of any so-called "sophomore jinx" by becoming the first competitor in the history of the sport to win two world titles in his rookie year."

Most Shocking Moment: Tie--The Big Show's Attack On Rey Mysterio At BACKLASH; Roddy Piper Pulling Off Zach Gowen's Artifical Leg

"In terms of shock value, The Big Show's attack ranks right up there with Mick Foley leaping from the top of Hell In The Cell or The Undertaker emerging from beneath the ring canvas. Little did anyone realize what the one-legged Zach Gowen was capable of doing in the ring."

Biggest Upset: Eddie Guerrero & Tajiri Winning The WWE Tag Team Championship From Team Angle At JUDGMENT DAY

"Stephanie McMahon had declared the bout a Ladder Match, adding another level of complication for latino Heat and his newfound teammate. Yet somehow, Guerrero & Tajiri managed to pull it off, and claim the top spot in the SMACKDOWN! Tag Team Division."

Best Match: Kurt Angle Vs. Brock Lesnar, WRESTLEMANIA XIX

"It was the greatest meeting of former amateur wrestlers that the sport had ever seen. Even by WRESTLEMANIA standards, the match was an absolute classic."

Breakout Performer: John Cena

"Cena gave Lesnar one hell of a fight at BACKLASH. Although he was unsuccessful in winning the WWE Championship, he earned the respect of the masses by main-eventing a WWE Pay-Per-View just a few months after breaking into the company."

Best Comeback: Kurt Angle

"A tremednous amount of buzz surrounded his comeback from neck surgery and it's likely that Angle will have a significant impact on the second half of 2003."

Most Heated Rivalry: Hulk Hogan Vs. Vince McMahon

"There are few individuals in the business with as much bad blood between them as Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon. There's enough water under the bridge between these two to flood the Grand Canyon."

Most Inspirational: Spanky

"Brian Kendrick's out-rapping of John Cena on an April SMACKDOWN! was a hilarious moment, and saw the reintroduction of his current ring name, which he first used when trying to make it on the independent circuit."

Most Hated: The Big Show

"The Big Show is seen by many as today's Andre The Giant. Few Superstars in recent memory have been as unpopular as The Big Show."

Best Executive Move: Stephanie McMahon signing Mr. America

"Stephanie may have have some major second thoughts about her talent acquisition but the fans have been loving it. Delivering a jolt of fun and excitement to SMACKDOWN!, Mr. America was a most welcome addition to WWE."

Your thoughts? Your winners? Your phone number? (hey, it was worth a try ;P)

RAW....
Yeah, that Hurricane is a future world champ, all right. Only the best job to Rosey.

Smackdown....

"Best Comeback: Kevin Nash"

"Nash came back to RAW and immediately went to war with his one-time best friend, Triple H. He showed little ring rust and looked as dominant as he did a decade earlier when he held the WWE Championship. Kevin Nash has been inspiring fans and fellow competitors for years. Known for his quick wit, this year he is leading by example."

Wow, Nash has been inspiring fans huh? Inspired to what, not get into wrestling? Believing that if no talent Nash can make it, so can I?

Showed little ring rust? Heh. It's hard not to exceed expectations when the bar is set so low. And who was Nash facing off against for Best Comeback? Scott Steiner? Well, okay I guess his comeback is better than Steiner's, but that's another low bar scenario.

Molly, Stacy and Daffney all in WWE? I suddenly lost all my will to complain about anything regarding the WWE. Hope I don't lose my street cred for this.

TS, the greatest Wiener rated 6.4948 ever to live!! Oops, I mean 5.5...4.5?? Oh, dammit! I guess Notorious FAB was right.

The headline of the article was funny too, in my humble opinion anyway. "Mid-Year Mayhem: As 2003 Reaches The Halfway Point, Who's Carried The Ball For RAW And SMACKDOWN! ?" Yeah, because if I need a touchdown ASAP, obviously I want Kevin Nash or The Big Show running with the ball.

Most Outstanding Performer: Triple H

"This year, Triple H has fought off a series of challenges that no champion has ever had to face, and he remains on top."

I don't think I can say anything about this that hasn't already been said.

Biggest Upset: Hurri-Shock For The Rock

"Many thought they would never see the day when The Hurricane would best The Rock. It happened though, and launched The Hurricane to previously unseen heights."

Mere weeks later, Triple H squashes Hurricane, sending him back to Jobberville.

Breakout Performer: The Hurricane

"The Hurricane was given an opportunity and ran with it. The only question now is, when will The Hurricane become World Champion?"

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Belee dat!

Most Shocking Moment: Tie--The Big Show's Attack On Rey Mysterio At BACKLASH

Yeah, we were shocked that Big Show was getting pushed to the main event AGAIN.

Best Match: Kurt Angle Vs. Brock Lesnar, WRESTLEMANIA XIX

"It was the greatest meeting of former amateur wrestlers that the sport had ever seen. Even by WRESTLEMANIA standards, the match was an absolute classic."

Sometimes one spot does make a difference. Had Brock not blown the big SSP, I would have agreed. (As it is, my choice remains Angle/Benoit at RR.) But Kurt deserves eternally major props for doing this match and taking those bumps on a broken freakin neck.

Much like Triple H did to Hurricane, watch Undertaker send Cena to Jobberville by no-selling his offense and generally making him look weak. He can't work "WWE style"!

Best Comeback: Kurt Angle

"A tremednous amount of buzz surrounded his comeback from neck surgery and it's likely that Angle will have a significant impact on the second half of 2003."

Why do I get the feeling that if this had been published a few months later, it would have been BILLY GUNN getting this award?

Most Heated Rivalry: Hulk Hogan Vs. Vince McMahon

"There are few individuals in the business with as much bad blood between them as Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon. There's enough water under the bridge between these two to flood the Grand Canyon."

To be continued...at Wrestlemania XX.

Most Hated: The Big Show

"Few Superstars in recent memory have been as unpopular as The Big Show."

And that's a SHOOT, brother!

You know, it's a lot of fun to look at these and compare them to OUR opinions. I mean, yeah this was written by company shills (as should be expected. That's not a knock on them), but it's funny to look at what they say, especially in hindsight.

-Most Outstanding Performer: Triple H
"This year, Triple H has fought off a series of challenges that no champion has ever had to face, and he remains on top."

What a fantastic underdog babyface. Umm wait a sec.

-Best Match: Triple H Vs. Ric Flair
"With his legions of fans behind him, the "Nature Boy" nearly won his 17th World Championship from "The Game". He certainly won the fan's hearts and added another signature moment to his long and storied career."

It was a good match and might be Monday Night Raw match even though I could think of a couple of matches that was on Monday Night that I thought was better... But this is for the entire roster match of the year including PPV and how on earth is Jericho vs. Michaels in Wrestlemania not Match of the Year.

-Best Comeback: Kevin Nash
"Nash came back to RAW and immediately went to war with his one-time best friend, Triple H. He showed little ring rust and looked as dominant as he did a decade earlier when he held the WWE Championship. Kevin Nash has been inspiring fans and fellow competitors for years. Known for his quick wit, this year he is leading by example."

The only person I could think of having a good comeback on Raw is Jazz.

-Most Inspirational: Theodore R. Long
"We went with a controversial choice: Theodore R. Long. many see him as a grandstanding hate-monger but WWE Magazine decided to look at him as a courageous human being, willing to take on the system and "The Man". For fighting so hard for his cause, Theodore R. Long is our choice for Most Inspirational. Plus, anyone who comes up with the "White Boy Challenge" deserves some award

haha

-Most Heated Rivalry: Stone Cold Steve Austin And Eric Bischoff

Great and produce the greatest that is the Red Neck Challenge. Let's not give credit to in ring competitors who can deliver in the ring as best Rivalry

-Most Heated Rivalry: Hulk Hogan Vs. Vince McMahon
"There are few individuals in the business with as much bad blood between them as Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon. There's enough water under the bridge between these two to flood the Grand Canyon

I would have expected all of these choices from WWE Magazine except for one; Why the hell would they not choose the ring imploding as the most shicking moment on Smackdown?

Net Hack Slasher: You do realise the source right? They're not like, actually giving out awards to the folks the WWE genuinely believe to be the most deserving. Thus picking holes in it is a tad pointless to say the least.
