I tuned in for the first time last night, mainly to watch two of my favorite local indy workers make their debuts in the 6 way X division match (Matt Sydal and Delirious). I have to say that the wrestling impressed, but man is RUsso always over the entire show like he was last night? I was starting to get very annoyed because they could have used his time to make a couple of the matches go longer. Anyways congrats to Matt and Delirious for a great match.
It's too bad, DangerBoy Derek Wylde and Showtime Eric Young (two FANTASTIC local indy guys) were supposed to be in the 6-way, but they had problems at the border. Hopefully they can get on the show at a later date.
Hate to break it to you Whiskey, but Russo's been in the last few shows. My eyes are still recovering from seeing him in tight velour or whatever that was, yikes. The best line of the show, however, reflects my feelings:
"At Vengeance, Stephanie McMahon vs. Sable. Folks, it doesn't get any funnier than that." BG James
This thing with BG James, Konnan and Ron Killings is really funny. At first I wasn't sure what's going on, but yeah, it's really cracking me up now.
Not quite on par with the previous weeks, and Russo grates on my nerves in so many ways.
At least James didn't say, "Yeah. That'll put asses in seats."
"next to of course god america i love you land of the pilgrims' and so forth oh say can you see by the dawn's early my country tis of centuries come and go and are no more what of it we should worry in every language even deafanddumb thy sons acclaim your glorious name by gorry by jingo by gee by gosh by gum why talk of beauty what could be more beaut- iful than these heroic happy dead who rushed like lions to the roaring slaughter they did not stop to think they died instead then shall the voice of liberty be mute?"
I hope WWE counters with "Folks, we heard at TNA's next pay-per-view, The Harris Brothers will be wrestling! Plus several appearances by Vince Russo!!!"
Geez, I bet more people will actually be interested in that crappy Steph vs Sable match than most of the stuff TNA puts on. Just goes to show ya...
The work schedule hasn't allowed me to catch TNA in the last few weeks. Too bad, since I was looking forward to seeing AMW take on Simon & Swinger. THIS is what you need to do with AMW while you find something for them to do. Take a good team that the fans are somewhat familiar with who only show up part-time (such as Simon & Swinger), have them put on a good match with AMW, and put AMW over cleanly in the end. This is what helps make legendary tag teams. I actually don't see anything wrong with bringing in Danny Doring & Roadkill for a one-time appearance. It'll give the fans another outstanding tag match while it'd give AMW a huge feather in their cap by knocking off the last team to hold the ECW tag titles.
I seriously have to wonder now what the hell the point of these BG James, Konnan, and Ron Killings skits are. I mean, they are pretty funny, I'll give them that. ("The 19-year-old sexually assaulted by Kobe Bryant was NOT Juventud Guerrera.") The only thing I can think of is that Russo's trying to create a DX-like cult following for these guys...which actually isn't a bad idea at all. I mean, what else are you gonna do with these guys?
The main event sounds like an overbooked mess, which is a shame considering that Styles and D'Lo rocked the house about a month or two ago.
No RAVEN this week? Well, I heard his return next week was being hyped big time, which is a good thing. I'm looking forward to his program with Father James Mitchell.
Did I hear right? Has DON CALLIS returned??? YES!!! One of my all-time favorites is back! My favorite Cyrus moment is still the night he came to do color with Joey Styles and told him "What is that you say? Oh! Oh my goodness!" with a dorky grin on his face. CLASSIC! Oh, but did I also hear right? Is he seconding a BIG, FAT GUY??? Indy followers, can anybody tell me about this guy? I hope he's worth at least something, because the last thing the world needs is the second coming of Cheex.
I'm still itching for the big blowoff between Chris Sabin and Frankie Kazarian. If you saw their first match, you know why.
I heard they did big hype videos for Elix Skipper, Christopher Daniels, and Sonny Siaki. That's simply genius! Word of mouth about TNA continues to spread and a lot of people who tune in are likely tuning in for the first time. Chances are that they've never seen an Elix Skipper or a Chris Daniels before. Thus, it's important that these new fans are given proper introductions to the new faces they're about to see. Absolute genius on the part of TNA and something they need to continue doing.
You've got to believe that with these Sting interviews, they're setting up for a tremendous return run for him. Watch the roof blow off the Asylum when that happens. Sting's return can make this promotion...and can more than likely MAKE the career of World Champion AJ Styles.
Next week: The Harris Brothers vs New Jack & Shark Boy. PLEASE let this be a hardcore match, because otherwise there will be LOTS OF PAIN AND SUFFERING...for the viewer!
"Yeah, I'm ugly and disfigured. Just like Molly's fatass. Right."
""At Vengeance, Stephanie McMahon vs. Sable. Folks, it doesn't get any funnier than that." BG James

Much like Bulldog up there, I have to point out the bush-league nature of this. Fact is, TNA should concentrating on getting ITSELF over rather than trying to run down a promotion roughly twenty times their scale. And to do it using two of the most hideously untalented "Attitude" goons out there...well, that's just stupid. How many crappy matches and two-years-stale mic spiels has Roaide subjected us to in his time? How many cruiserweights did ol' Orale pointlessly go over-including the ridiculous TV Title win over Chris Jericho? Maybe if they stuck Daniels, Skipper and Low Ki out there and had them poke fun at WWE I'd give 'em the time of day, but using two of the most annoying washed-up asswipes they can find just makes them look even more hypocritical and bush league. But hey stealing tactics from Eric Bischoff-I'm sure they'll be in business in five years' time.
At least James didn't say, "Yeah. That'll put asses in seats."
If they were going to make an ass-related joke about Stephanie McMahon, this would likely be the tamest possible choice.
Is this Abyss guy anyone that we've seen before?
Over 1650 posts and still never a Wiener of the Day! But I'm not bitter!
Q: If you could have one superpower -- the strength of 100 men, invisibility, or the ability to fly -- which would you choose and why?
Michael Vick: Oh man, invisibility. If I was in a bad situation or something or I said something or you know, caught with two girls I could just disappear. I could be gone just like that -- no trouble.
"I don't understand the creative process. Actually, I make a concerted effort not to understand it. I don't know what it is or how it works but I am terrified that one green morning it will decide not to work anymore, so I have always given it as wide a bypass as possible."-- William Goldman
I so hope Regal stomps the young Eye-Talian and takes the IC belt. If the ratings don't pick up this week, the swerve will undoubtably Vince returning already next week. The theme for vengeance should be Queen's "the show must go on."
