The second week of RAW where nothing really impressed me....at first, I thought D-Von was doing the attacks (he was absent in the Dudley's locker room) as a way to join Teddy Long's group...The thing about Kane is: he's not THAT ugly...As for the Highlight Reel, Michaels was right with pretty much everything he said (wow, never thought I'd say that), but trying to turn Jericho heel was just stupid. Can we end the screwjob references NOW?...Remember when guys like Jindrak and O'Haire could work awesome matches in WCW? Me neither. Thanks, "WWE Main Even Style". I can't believe how indifferent the crowd was to that match..I still think it was a mistake for Gail Kim to win the title last week. I believe everyone in the woman's division has held the title now. That gets pretty uninteresting after awhile...turning Rosey face was just confusing...Nash jobs to Test? My money is on 1 month til he walks out..."Stevie Night Heat"- great tights...the final Kane/Austin segment was alright.

As far as the whole Rosey thing goes -- I'm really hoping they're setting up a Rosey / Hurricane tag team. Rosey's not bad, and I think being in a team with a guy who's totally different (i.e., not Jamal) will help him show that off.

Rosey / Hurricane could then feud with Mack / Nowinski. Am I the only one here who would enjoy this?

-Austin interview- It's cool seeing Austin react to a huger then usual pop. It's just cool see top guys getting surprised themselves on how over they are... -Booker T vs. Christian- Speaking of over Booker was huge in Montreal. I didn't know how the heel/face thing would work with Canadian Christian (I wonder if he did a heel promo before the show). But the crowd was very pro Booker. Real great match too. Nice way to start out the show.

-Rosey vs. Hurricane- Hurricans quest to find the perfect tag partner to go against Frenchies takes a week break I guess. Match was about 90 seconds long. Nice shinning wizard and Rosey didn't do any mistakes. So that's okay... Rosey turns on Teddy because with Teddy he finally won a match. Yup makes sense to me, or not.

-Gail/Val vs. Victoria/Richards- Positives, Gail offense look pretty smooth and seems to have a nice chemistry with Val... Negative, Victoria got 1 move in the entire match. The match was lets see Gail to her stuff and Victoria job is to catch and sell for her. Hope this trend doesn't continue in all Gail's matches much like another high flying diva matches were, because that does nothing for her opponents.

-Highlight Reel- This should be really interesting. Jericho was insanely over, HBK was pretty much hated even though I agreed with what he said. I don't really know what to think of this segment. Interesting turn of events, which I didn't dislike but it did seem to deflate the crowd. The person they really want to get behind tells them DON'T LIKE ME... Oh well Jericho and HBK did interplay with eachother perfectly and I loved how JR & Lawler were saying Jericho's just a sh*t starter and doesn't give a damn about Bret but just using the emotion of the situation to cause trouble. LoL

-Test vs. Nash- Oh man who's going to bump in this match? Oh here comes the answer's! Here's Trish LoL. Yup she did take a big bump being pulled leg first out of the ring and crashing face first to the floor (ouch). Then TSN "protected" me from any more Tirsh's bumping abilities by not showing the rail shot... Garcia got flustered and said "Kevin.. Test" but it's hard to blame her getting tongue-tied after seeing Trish in THAT out.

-Jericho vs. Jindrak- Why didn't they do this match before the highlight reel? You took potential you most over wrestler and it would guarantee reaction and heat for the match from the Jericho loving crowd that might make people at least into the match and what Jindrak was doing... Instead they do away the love for Jericho anymore, and the fans couldn't bring themselves to boo him. So they became indifferent to the whole thing and to Jinkrak. Pretty idiotic thinking.

-Molly vs. Trish- On the other side, this was pretty smart booking. Trish came out looking like she woke up on the wrong side of the bed, by her selling her sore neck & her ring attire(Don't know about that as good wrestling clothes but that's another story). Speaking of, Garcia gives Trish a special introduction by actually saying Introducing! Match not as entertaining as their Heat match, but it served a purpose & told a story. Trish's neck/shoulder was messed up and Trish sold it the entire match, even on offense. Molly worked on it & finished her off with a shoulder breaker & necklock. I'd probably add another 30 second of a Trish offensive flurry just to keep the crowd honest but they booked it alright...

I'm not buying the conspiracy, Trish has always been willing and cool to put her opponents over strong by pin & even tapping out. This is nothing new. This is actually one of her more protected loses with all the circumstance that happened with Test/Nash which looked like it was used to set up this match. Plus setting up uber-face Trish vs. newie-face Gail, is not a smart move. So they setting up Molly to be fed to Gail, which unfortunately is going to happen next week. Lets hope it's made to look like a good even match.

-RVD/Bubba vs. Flair/Orton- I thought Flair blew his arm out doing that really forced hip toss. Match was decent, nothing really memorable. Looks like they are setting a RVD vs. Orton feud... What happened to D-von? Lawler tried to ask Ross and JR pretty much said "It's not the time or place to talk about it"

-Austin/Kane interview- When I figured this was the last segment I thought ERRR. But it turned out good. Austin is so entertaining and seeing him getting annoyed with Kane's stupidity "You think I'm Funny" made me chuckle. Nice brawl at the end, haven't seen Austin brawl in a while so it brought back some good memories... With all the criticism WWE took with Kane's look(deservedly so maybe) I think they are pushing him as a pretty interesting character. Second time in an hour the Montreal got someone they were cheering hard for turn on them. Lesson learned "Never Cheer" LoL

-other stuff- I guess lesson learned with Nash and Canada and they had him take up for Canadian sweetie backstage to get some positive reaction and it kind of worked, at least he didn't get booed. Trish was pretty cute backstage sarcastically saying "Wow you choose me Test"... Austin rules all, I could see his backstage antics without ever getting bored. Running around backstage interrogating the beaten guys and snapping at Coach "What are you scared". Austin selling Kane's face especially after watching the women #1 contender match on TV then turning around and doing a major flinch when encountering Kane. LoL That was too funny.

-Sign of the Night "Wrestlemania XX Spoiler: HHH Retains"

-Line of the Night: Garcia's revenge "Kevin.. Test"

I thought the show was very good this week. Solid bookends with a real hot beginning and a very good ending. Austin running around backstage is entertaining by itself, good backstage stuff this week. 2 women segments which made me happy, but I would have liked Victoria to at least get something more meaningful in against Gail. Molly/Trish wasn't their best match but good storytelling. Hilight Reel, don't really know what to make out of that but it was certainly interesting. Test/Nash was kept short and wasn't too bad, at least delivered some story... The only real stand out bad parts was Rosie's "turn" (I guess that is what it was), and Y2J/Jendrak match after Jericho's turn which destroyed any chance of the crowd being into it. But I have to say this week was one of the better shows recently in recent memory.

Nope. I'd mark out like a madman if Rosey became Hurricane's sidekick-in-training.

I'm stumped as to what his superhero name would be, though.
Any ideas?

Now if only Triple H would help Randy Orton screw Booker T out of the IC title and kick start a Booker / Hunter program. They could do it at Summerslam...

I think trish's losing streak is more along the lines of only the champion face can be dominant, so unless she's gonna turn on Gail, she's gonna be losing more and probably down another rung when Lita arrives. But then of course, when (probably not if) Trish wins the women's belt she'll have more reigns than Moolah IIRC...

Maybe I missed something on the board, but I haven't seen any comments on the debut of the SummerSlam commercial. Brock F5-ing the shark is hilarious. And astonished I am that they're already announcing HHH vs. Goldberg.
(Y'all did see this commercial, twice on Raw & once on Heat, right?)

I missed the F5 on the shark unfortunately. I almost forgot to mention Gail Kim. I think there's something there with her. I really do, and I really think her and Victoria would rule. Gail has some smooth moves, and hey, she's hanging out with Val, which is not a bad idea. Canadians need to stick together in these tough economic times, you know.

Emma, I think that might have been a local spot since SummerSlam is right in your backyard this year. I didn't see the spot once. I'm assuming it will go national after Vengeance.

On a side note, does anyone else get ads for live tapings featuring one of the Jerky Boys? Or is that just an L.A. thing?

Oooh, I feel so privileged! :-)

It's cute. Crowded beach. Somebody screams "Shark!" Jaws-like background music. Everybody running away from the water in a panic. Brock, in full wrestling gear, running through the crowd toward the water. He jumps in, comes up with a BigShow-sized shark & proceeds to F5 it. Voiceover includes, "What will Brock Lesnar do for an encore? Plus, Triple H & Goldberg go toe-to-toe."

Now that you mention it, the spots were positioned out in the middle of the adbreak time -- where the locally sold ads usually go. So I guess we get the special sneak preview. Cool. (Do you suppose its too early to invite all the wrestlers over to the house for a pool party? :-) )

Because a true HOSS wouldn't let something like his father's funeral get in the way being on RAW, of course.

Actually, I thought JR sounded much more upset with Lawler, who kept harping on "why isn't D-Von here, JR?" and trying to make into some kind of an angle. Yet another class move from the King.

I also heard the annoyance in J.R's voice, but I truly thought it was towards Lawler as well for pushing and bringing up D-von's personal matter... Hearing the D-von's dad passed away I want to no wonder JR seemed annoyed with Lawler. Why bring up "Where's D-von", is Lawler so shut out of the lockerroom that he didn't even hear the news or is he being an idiot
