Anybody have a clue about a Outkast CD? I know that most of the talk was that there would be a double album coming out, with some solo stuff by each Big Boi & Andre, but where is it? Their web site says the first quarter of 2003, and several months ago, Time Out New York made mention that they broke up.

Anybody know what's up? A playa can't waits much longer!

My turntables might wobble but they don't fall down.

Don't know anything about that but hiphopsite.com's "News on the D.L." and daveyd.com would be good places to check for info.

It's coming out next month. Outkast's site hasn't been updated in forever.

"Entertainment Weekly" said the new album would be out Aug 19. It's a 2 disc set, with a Big Boi produced CD and a Andre produced CD. Big Boi said his was a hip hop disc, and Andre's was more of a funk album. I believe they also appear on each other's "album".

Edit in: There's a little bit more info (titles to upcoming singles) on their record label's web site: http://www.arista.com/Page.asp?sn=Arista&

Rock!

The first thing about Outkast's music that caught me was the killer bass lines. They encorporated funk a lot better than anyone else that I've heard in hip hop. And didn't they break nationally just after the P-Funk trend died out? Good timing.

I was disappointed in Stankonia because it went more techno than anything else. It was an alright album and they've got a good enough back catalogue to justify branching out and experimenting, but it just didn't hit me the way ATLiens or Aquemeni did.

It's good to see they're going back to the funk sound for one, and a hip hop sound as well. From Playalistic on they kind of shed hip hop gradually. Good to see they're going back to it.
