The following post expresses the opinions of a raving Jerichoholic. He is biased, opinionated and bitter. You have been warned.

First off, I'd like to wish a get well and a very speedy recovery to the Marlins pitcher who got hit in the back of the head tonight. Secondly, the pitcher who drilled David Ortiz in the knee is a no-good piece of crap. It's one thing to hit a guy in the butt when you're down by 14 runs after the first inning, it's quite another to drill a large guy who's had a big game on the kneecap when you're down by going on 20 in the bottom of the 8th. Good to see that Ortiz stayed in the game and the Sox hung a four spot on that ass clown. Thirdly, I think Almonte (IIRC) was right in throwing behind Fox. He was not right in trying to drill him in the head. That's just not called for. I think he will get fined and maybe suspended for a game or two, and the pitcher who hit Ortiz should get the same. Doesn't really matter for the Sox, as it looks like that pitcher will be the one to go down to the minors when Gabe Kapler is brought up. I, personally, would rather see Jeremy Giambi dragged into the street and shot, though, because he's batting less than .100 this month! More playing time for Ortiz, less for Giambi.

EDIT: Adjusted sig for magic number.

Fuckin' A right you were, Simba. Come on, man... that game was amazing. How many records were set and matched tonight? How horrible was it to watch that poor bastard get hit in the head? (Get well soon, Mr. Olsen). How comical was it to see Doug Mirabelli at first? That was just mystifying, man. This kind of Twilight Zone shit doesn't happen in most other sports.

Actually, I heard Jeremy Giambi WILL get dragged out onto Yawkey in his brother's jersey. Either that or designated for assignment. Whichever's more humane.

And to think I missed this game because of bowling... they almost outscored one of my friends.

I can't believe Damon almost got the cycle in the first inning.

Being a Marlins fan, that performance was truly pathetic... and before that game, the Fish had actually been playing well for once!

Kevin Olsen will be ok, thank god. He's in good condition at a Boston hospital, will probably be released soon.

Almonte throwing at the Fox in the 9th inning was bush league. 19 run lead, the only job Almonte had to do was not do anything to cause a member of the bullpen who doesn't suck from having to appear. Instead, he gets ejected.
And after watching the game, one thought came immediately to mind: Why the bleep is Freddy Sanchez an untouchable? He has the worst batting stance I've ever seen, and if he couldn't get a hit in the 28 hit parade, something is seriously wrong. And if Hillenbrand was deemed an old player because he was 28 in his 3rd season, how is Sanchez a young player when he is 25 as a rookie?
As always, after a game like that, better than even money that tonite will be a 2-1 or a 1-0 game.

I have to say that this was the most bizarre baseball game I've ever seen. 14 runs in the first inning (and 10 before the first out) for the Red Sox, an injured pitcher, plunkings, near-fighting...

Well, if MLB was looking for new rivalries with the interleague system, I think they just found one.

And an update on tonight's game: Boston gets seven in the sixth, but Florida gets eight in the last two innings and steals the game, 10-9. MWAHAHAHAHA.

More grist for the mill: Florida has been in the league 10 years and has a World Series. Have fun, Boston fans!

You know I've never heard anyone make that joke before. You're the first. I've never heard anyone reference that outside program before. Because that's what she says on the show, right? Hmmm? 'You are the weakest link. Goodbye!' And ye...ye..yet you've taken it and....and used it out of context to insult me in this everyday situation. What a clever, smart girl you must be. To come up with a joke like that all by yourself. Mmmmm...that's so fresh too. Any Titanic jokes you want to throw at me as long as we're hitting these phenomena at the height of their popularity. Kim's apparently getting moved to the bullpen anyway, so he went out with a bang. Seems like an odd move, since Brandon Lyon (a former Jay...sob) is doing a pretty good job.

Wow, it only took them a month to figure out how to use Kim properly. Kudos to the Red Sox!

Wow... 4 days after that horrible game for the Marlins, they lay a whuppin on the Braves that was just as bad as the Red Sox game: 20-1. New franchise highs for the Fish in runs (20) and hits (25).

Oh, and the getting hit in the head bug strikes again - this time a cameraman got whacked in the noggin by a flying bat. They paused the game for almost 20 minutes as he was taken to the local hospital - he was a bloody mess. What a shame - hope the guy's ok.

Texas has a guy in AAA named Nick Regilio that is 3-0 with a 1.93 ERA so far this season. I think that's either four or five starts. That doesn't mean he would be great in the bigs, but CHAN HO is 1-3 with a 5.50 so far this season.
