I haven't posted a thread in a while due to the slight negativity I recieve around here. Yet I am back with some slightly interesting news which could be discussion worthy. I have a few wrestling contacts that are on the indy circuit. Yes, workers. Some are male and some are female. Now, I'm trying to boil this down to a level that to where we are all on the same level or plateau. Marks, Smarks, and Indy Wrestlers. Well apparently I have done that and stumbled on to it quite accidently. Just like us here on wienerboard and across the information superhighway there is an uproar or uprising taking place towards the WWE. The same thing is happening on the indy circut. We have all reached a common unity. Your probably wanting me to get to the point by now.

So here we go.

Due recent and no so recent events, which i'm not going to mention, the WWE has fed us a load of garbage. This garbage has unifited the US the fan with the indy worker. We don't like what the WWE is doing and they don't agree with it either. Now here is the question that is at hand. Has Vinnie Mac reached a level in his own mind that he won't listen to us? What we want? How stubborn has he become that he's chancing everthing thing now for gain later. There might not be a later even with is "business savy" if he keeps throwing us the same recycled stuff. Well, I know I don't agree with his antics, you'll don't, and indy wrestlers darn sure don't. What are we going to do about it?

This is getting annoying now isn't it?

We'll all keep watching and keep bitching about what we're watching. The cycle will never end.

There's nothing wrong with WWE. They had a great quarter. Everything is fine. It's just the war and the economy. Linda told me so.

Who is this "we" that doesn't like what the Fed is doing? They happen to entertain me everytime I watch.

5 things you can do:
1) Don't watch the WWE.
2) Go to the shows of your local indy feds.
3) If you really think you could do better, start your own indy and do the booking.
4) If you come across (or start) a good indy, tell your friends, tell people on the net, send out some tapes of it. It's how ECW got started.
5) Watch NWA-TNA and buy their PPV's, if they are presenting something you like better.

Just some suggestions...

I think your giving "we" too much credit. Vince don't care what the smart fans think. Vince cares about the casual fans, the one who will blow 30 bucks on styrofoam fingers and T-shirts.

I'll recommend #2 in a heartbeat. Support your local indy wrestling! (Down with backyarders, though.)

#3 will take some financial resources, though. With the business in a bit of a down cycle, it's very easy to lose money on an indy show.

And as for #4...I've been doing that for awhile now.

And the cool thing about #5 is sometimes you'll see guys who've been in the above link: Raven, CM Punk...

Star wipe, and...we're out.

Okay, just to clarify, yeah when i said indy's, I definately didn't mean 12 year olds running around backyards, giving each other brain damage. I meant more - and theres a few good indy feds in my area thankfully there are some entertaining indy's run out of high school gyms, YMCA's, etc. Personally a lot of what I've found lacking in WWE I've been able to see on TNA or in some of my local indy's. Especially if you don't expect slick production values, they can be surprisingly good.

Cool to hear about you doing #4 BTW, #3 is an idea I've kicked around a little...

And if WWE really gets *that* bad, you can always tune out...

Sadly, I've come to realize that even after being in the biz, and seeing more backstage politics in the f'n indys than you could throw an HHH water bottle at...I'm just too much of a mark to ever tune out WWE. Damn Monday Night Wars hooked me but good.

In related news...I hate it when backyarders don't realize just how dumb they are. At least the local Gannett rag knew to talk to my fed's promoter and one of our top stars when they ran this article on "nice" backyarders. Oy gevalt...go get trained, or go away.
