There is one thing that would make me love pro wrestling again but I know it absolutely will not happen. If during Raw with a main guy on the mic (HHH, Steiner, Austin, etc.) "Enter Sandman" came on and Sandman came out with his old entrance (cigarettes, beers-in-pants, big belly, blank expression, etc.) and caned the living shit out of whoever. I'm not saying Vince would know how to use Sandman or anything, I just would love to see it. BTW- does anyone know where or if Sandman is wrestling currently?
And I have to agree. While he's not known for being the best worker in the business, I don't think there is a cooler character than his. He's one of the few wrestlers out there that still makes me mark out.
Prepare to have your guts kicked in by folk singers.
The problem is, The Sandman isn't a household name, so it would only appeal to a limited crowd (not that their fanbase is SO huge anymore, but still)... If it had happened towards the end of ECW, I would agree with you. But today, it wouldn't have the same impact.
Plus, I agree that Vince probably wouldn't know how to use him, over or not....

Vince won't pay the royalties for the music, especially for a guy who would be viewed as lower mid card at best.
Where have you gone Gene Rayburn, a nation turns it lonely eyes to you.
And Sandman couldn't do the cigarette smoking either, at least without losing their current 2nd biggest advertiser and my biggest excuse to change stations...Truth.com.
Quick mark out...
Politically incorrect...*inhales a marlboro* and damn proud of it!
Y'know, if they'd just let him do that enterance, but only wrestle matches that maxed out at 7-minutes long, then I'd love it. But once Sandman tries to wrestle Triple H in a 20-minute WWE-style match... well, the results wouldn't be pretty.
But, yes. It is definitley one of the coolest characters, and THE coolest enterance, in the business.
