Pro wrestler charged with felony fraud

SKIPPACK- A professional wrestler who resides in Collegeville was returning
to the United States from Japan when he was detained by U.S. Customs in
Detroit, Mich., for and active criminal warrant, according to state police.

Steven Corino, 30, was charged May 19 with forgery and misdemeanor and
felony access-device fraud charges after Pennsylvania State Police concluded
an investigation which started in 2001.

According to the report, Corino, formerly of 1100 block of Mensch Road,
Skippack, allegedly forged a check in his roomate/victim`s name in the
amount of $2,100 on June 11, 2001.

He reportedly obtained account information and credit cards issued to the
victim and proceeded to make more than $10,000 in purchases without the
victim`s knowledge.

Corino was extradited from Detroit and arragined in from of District Justice
Benjamin Crahalla Sunday.
His bail is set at $10,000 and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for June
23.

I blame Dusty Rhodes. First he cuts Magnum's brakes, now he frames Corino.

Well you can expect a few juicy mugshots of Steve Corino at the Smoking Gun in a few days. They always have stuff posted like that.

And I don't blame Dusty Rhodes. I blame Steve Corino himself. IT'S ALL A SCAM!! He's probably sweating bullets right now, due to the fact he's got a barbed wire match with Terry Funk at MLW HYBRID HELL tommorrow night. So this is just his way of getting out of it. BASTARD!!

Everyone who worked in ECW said working with Paul E. was a learning experience. And just now are we starting to see what they learned.

Still, it explains why he didn't make RoH the other night. Being on the lam takes it out of ya.

Not that I'd know.

1Wrestling was contacted by Steve Corino and he wrote:

Steve Corino contacted 1Wrestling.com in regard to his arrest on 5/19 in Michigan on forgery and misdemeanor and felony access-device fraud charges. Corino made the following statement:

"It is absolutely not true. I am not guilty This is a situation involving my ex-girlfriend and I am confident that when we have the preliminary hearing on Monday, they will see there is no evidence to support the charges. Please tell everyone that my spirits are high and I look forward to my day in court."

Corino is in Florida and will make his scheduled barbed wire match with Terry Funk tomorrow for Major League Wrestling. He is scheduled to leave next Wednesday for his next Japanese tour with Zero-One and was informed the current situation will not affect him working the tour.

-----
I hope it gets worked out because Steve Corino is fun to watch and I was shocked when I ead this cause allI could think is "what doesn't he make enough money?"

If he can get Spike Lee's lawyers to represent him, he will be fine.

If not...........then there is always Johnny Cochran and his "Chewbacca Defense" to fall back on.

Steve Corino is one of the most stand up, real, dedicated people in this so-called sport. It doesn't matter why I know this. Safe to say this is all bullshit. The real tragedy is that this is the biggest news story about him.

In short, the man is a great guy that may never catch a break but still won't give up. Believe me. This ain't shit to him.

Bigger than the time he challenged Sean Shannon? Unlikely!

It's being rumored that the charges against Steve Corino were dropped.

With these charges behind him now...

If Corino was smart (and from everything I've read, he seems like a pretty enterprising guy), he'd turn this into some sort of angle. Let's face it, he's had quite a bit of publicity from this over the last couple of days, and it would probably behoove him to get some coverage because of it.

He could start as a `Fugitive from the law' type character or something on the MLW show (at least I *think* that's where he is these days)... I could totally see Vince Russo buying that as a great idea for TNA as well and bringing him in for that.

Well i for one trusted him from the start. In his statement he sounded so confident. I know everyone does but i really trusted him. Good to see that he is free.

Ego. Too many times, I find it hard to look past Stephanie. She's just tiresome and uninteresting to me. HHH still does some things that I enjoy (the Roman beat down last year, his selling of Dirty Deeds being the most recent)
