Logical - Raven. He hates Jarrett, and is willing to put aside differences with AJ and SEX to get at him.
Nostalgic - Vader. There's lots of backstory there.
Russoriffic 1 - Russo. Can never go wrong with Russo as the partner.
Russoriffic 2 - Dusty Rhodes. Pointless swerves involving semi-retired wrestlers...yup, I could see it.
Unholy - Luger. He does have some heat from basically killing Miss Elizabeth. Could happen, but I doubt it.
Inexplicable - Buff/Rick Steiner/other WCW reject. It wouldn't shock me, it would sadden me though.
Lightning in a Bottle - David Arquette. You never know
Lineage - David Flair. There should always be a Flair when a Sting is close by.
Inevitable - nobody. Jarrett and Sting come out. Styles comes out. Russo comes out with a mic, laughs when Sting asks where Russo's man is, Jarrett hits El Kabong, they all laugh at Sting still being the Dumbest Man In Wrestling, all the storylines cease making any sense, and I pull the TNA link from my sig.
I really hope it's Vader. That would be an old-school angle that would actually rule.
Over 1400 posts and still never a Wiener of the Day!
Well you're in your little room and you're working on something good but if it's really good you're gonna need a bigger room and when you're in the bigger room you might not know what to do you might have to think of how you got started in your little room da da da
I really hope it's Raven. He isn't booked for the show yet, and, in my own humble opinion, he has been, consistintley, the best thing on the show. Leaving him off the big anniversary show would by BLASPHEMY! BLASPHEMY, I SAY!!!
So you mean to tell me that TNA now has Jarrett, Sting, Raven, Styles, and didn't Douglas appear last week? That's a main event group that i would rather see 100 times more than Raw's group of main eventers.
And if Vampiro did show up, man, i need to start getting TNA.
"So you mean to tell me that TNA now has Jarrett, Sting, Raven, Styles, and didn't Douglas appear last week? That's a main event group that i would rather see 100 times more than Raw's group of main eventers."
So you'd trade HHH, Goldberg, Jericho, Michaels, Nash, Flair and Booker for a midcarder masquerading as a main eventer, a man at least as past his prime as anybody currently in the WWE, a former ECWer who'se so broken down through injury that he should've called it quits years ago and an independent cruiser who, while admittedly impressive ring-wise, is absolutely nothing to write home about? And of crouse, the main event man himself, Shane Douglas.
There's optimism and then there's just plain silly; at least the washed-up legends in the WWE were actual legend sin their time rather than "also-rans". If TNA really were a viable alternative to WWE-and yes, I do believe we need one-then it wouldn't be reliant on filling their shows with wrestlers and angles that revolve around past dealings in other companies. It's bush-league all the way, and it ain't never gonna pull itself out of the doldrums; a vicious cycle, to be sure.
In all fairness, Oldschool, he did say they were wrestlers that HE wanted to see. Don't knock him for personal preference. I don't think he mean that those guys should be main eventing Raw.
Your criticisms of TNA in general, however, are absolutely valid.
I personally OSH would rather watch a show with a top group from TNA than to watch the Raw roster. The guys who I like on Raw are mostly stuck clustering in the midcard/tag scene with whiffs of topcard here and there. I love Goldust, Hurricane, RVD, Jericho, Christian, Dreamer, Booker, and the women's division on Raw. But most of those folks are rarely given much time to do anything. On the other hand in TNA Raven and Styles are in the main angle. XXX is in a major angle in the tag scene and has been for a long while (and given ample match time usually). Kid Kash/Trinity has been given a long time (possibly too long) to play out. I'm disappointed but hopeful that the Red/Raven issues haven't been totally forgotten.
Admittedly, all bets are off now that Russo is firmly in control on and off screen of the product. That is seriously killing my TNA buzz something harsh. But about 2 months ago they were on a run where TNA was consistently my favorite show every week.
Monday (I think) Meltzer thought it was going to be Sean Waltman, but today he says probably Raven. He had said the company swore to him they'd never have Waltman in the company last week (though he didn't name Waltman at the time.)
Washington Huskies, 2003 Pac-10 football champs. Coming soon.
Jeff Hardy would have been a great guess if it was Jarrett with the mystery partner slot, but I really cannot imagine them bringing in Jeff Hardy as a heel if/when he ever joins them. You know he'll get the monster face pop when he arrives, and even Russo wouldn't be so dumb as to screw that up....I think.
I am gonna go way out on a limb here and guess X-Pac, despite the gaping hole this leaves in the storyline. Just the kind of cheap stunt Russo would pull.

I don't suppose you checked the TNA results already, did you? (kidding!)
Yes, it was Sean Waltman. Earlier in the night, Raven came to the aid of D'Lo, then Shane Douglas came out and attacked Raven. All this time, I was thinking maybe it was gonna be Shane.
Though Russo came out with Styles to introduce Styles' partner, a man he despises, the scum of the earth, blah, blah, etc, etc...then out came Waltman.
For what it's worth, Russo building up the match the whole night and the in ring interview earlier in the night, I found it enjoyable. I think it helped get Styles over as an actual world champion. Styles' performance in the main event was very intense. He worked very well, the boy is shining.
Waltman was ok, I guess. But it was Styles who shined.

Yes, that is what I meant. *I* would rather watch Jarrett, Raven, Sting, AJ, and Shane over all of the Raw main eventers except Jericho. I'm not saying it would be good business for the WWE to swap their main eventers with TNA's.
