At this rate, I'll just quash it, 'cause all you people do is throw out ZEROES (except I got a few tens. Thanks as always for kissing my ass. ;-) )
When/if I get a critical mass of data points, I will add a "sort by ratings" pane to the Wienerlist display page. I may also figure out a way to allow you to set a threshhold whereby you can skip posts made by people below whatever rating you're most comfortable with. That might just destroy our CPU, though, so I need to play with it a bit first.
Basically it was a project I assigned myself to see if I could successfully assimilate some acmlm1.8a code onto our acmlm1.65 (just barely, given all the customisation I've done) framework without my head exploding. (It may yet explode, of course...but at least for different reasons this time.)
Is it possible to replace the numbers with "comical" rankings like 0 being "Lord Azzington" and 10 being "Steve Blackman"? That might prevent us from dishing 0's out like Halloween candy.
And I'm wondering if there's any way (once enough data is collected) for people to see their "rating". 'Cuz that would be a very depressing thing to see.

I think a Lord Azzington would actually be a negative number. I thought the bloodbath was going to be 1 of 3 things: Either a) Z was going to return to recapping. b) He was going to ban everyone for his own amusement. c) He was going to admit he has Steve Blackman locked in his basement and is transcribing his every movement for his book. A question of the ratings: Why can't we rate ourselves?
I consider the switch from Pathetic to Loser to be a promotion.
One thing I noticed is that when in a thread you go to rate a user it sends you back to the main page when you're done. Is there any way that could be tweaked to bring you back to the thread you were reading when you're done rating?

Hmm, it's SUPPOSED to...I thought I'd fixed it. There must still be a few bugs.
Well I just tested it in this thread, and it led me back to the main board. No biggie.
And not ALL of us are being all nasty and negative with this. Some of us are taking valuable time out of our workday to give high marks to those posters who bring us all so much joy.
In honor of one of the people who earned a 10, if we ever go to a ratings system like Schippe mentioned, I think a rating like 4 or 5 should be "Needs more Kane"

Turns out I completely took it out when I was "fixing" something else. I think I put it back in there okay. *crossing fingers*

Is this similar to the Slashdot rating system (although in this case, we're rating users, not posts)?
Although if this is the case, I might start paying more attention to the Wrestling folder....
I quickly thought of people who said they "like me" and I think of 3 off hand, but one of them got himself banned "Uh oh"... On the other had I certainly know some who can't stand me, so hopefully it balances out LoL.
I thought it was funny Zed mentioning people are just throwing out Zero's and Tens. Isn't that lot of times the case with this sort of stuff Hate it = zero, Love it = 10. Specially with wrestling fans with extreme opinions on Worst thing ever or Bestest thing ever
I better stop blabbering, I'm feeling my rating percentage falling by the sentence
cause there's limits to our liberties. 'Least I hope and pray that there are, cause those liberal freaks go too far.

I'm seeing behaviour that's close, but not quite what I'd expect. If I go directly to (say) page 4 of a multi-page thread, then do a "rate this user", I get redirected back to the correct thread, but page 1, rather than page 4.

Okay, I figured out what was wrong and fixed it. (This problem doesn't happen if you have "Show New Only" selected in your profile!)
Yeah, I tend to do that a lot while I'm "fixing" things. Usually it's just syntactical - me misplacing a quote or paren while going through the code, so I notice (and hopefully correct)
