I only caught about half or so of it, because the kayfabe piece with the FBI put me to sleep.

However, that said, the piece on Freddie Blassie was so well done. I think the only thing bad about it was Kelly Ripa. Honestly. It almost makes you want Kathie Lee back, because at least she met Blassie. Again, however, a very good tribute.

The "Cribs" segment was pretty cool, since it was Ivory. Color scheme in her living room was all over the place, but oddly enough, I wasn't staring at that too much. ;)

The thing that bothered me is the same thing that usually happens during the obit pieces: almost always the same people: Vince, Steph, Ross, Brisco, Hogan. I understand why, but I'd love to see some new blood in these pieces. I mean, where was Pat? Flair? They have historical perspective too. And why always Steph and never Shane.

And, not to take anything away from Blassie, but it seems they put him over a little too much. I loved how Hogan says he was a wrestler was all about: "blond hair, sun tan, always looking cool." Yeah, don't mention his ability to work. Hello, Lou Thesz? That guy that didn't look like a million bucks but could outwork everyone.

Stupid Kelly Ripa, she's useless. Seriously, Regis was all serious and letting everyone know that a close friend had died and she just said in her whiny voice "Oh really, that's so saddd". It was obvious she didn't have a clue who he was, it'd have been better if she just said Oh, who's that? Indeed, any person that makes you long for Kathie Lee has to be terrible.

Remembering Blassie- A nice piece of on Blassie. Looks like they were preparing for this day and really made a nice reflection of his life. I didn't know he had such a close relationship with Regis.

Ivory likes cats- Segments on Ivory is always a good thing. She's got a thing for kittens. She knows that her shower fits 4 people! She's got photos of fellow divas around her house, that's nice!(I'm guessing Jericho doesn't have photos of HHH proudly displayed LoL). Ivory also has power drills, bzzzzz. On a bit more serious issue it's interesting Ivory talking about her parents not even wanting to see each other but made a chair for her. Nice seeing Ivory getting some attention to her on Raw and now Confidential.

Outside the Ropes: FBI- Well the Deniro vs. Pacino debate and which Godfather movie was better (even though they were bigger Good Fellows fans). And Hoffa being buried in Johnny The Bull backyard was a bit of a chuckle as well. But once they started asking Gangster questions and they were acting dumb it got a little tiring... Most of the time these 10 questions are great, this week was okay.

Hunchback of Castle Frazier: Brock visits Aberdeen, Scotland. I like Brock and all but he sometimes comes off as a major dofus and this was one of those times, and NO I wouldn't be saying that to his face LoL. I got a feeling that tour guide picked out the shortest straw to get this assignment Kind of a generic castle, come one where's the torture room!

Snuka vs. Muraco: I never saw this match as much as the shown tonight. And with all the constant love and reflection WWE puts on this match, I was expecting something a little different. What a BS ending LoL, Muraco stumbling out of the cage door because of a overhead chop. I also never knew that the big Superfly splash was done after the fact.

Rey in Mexico: Is Rey so famous in Mexico that he can go through border customs with his mask on? Is his face blurred on the video as well? In the arena young looking females playing volleyball and shorts, and thankfully Jerry Lawler is no where to be seen.

The first half hour was good, really liked the Ivory house tour and the Blassie eulogy was nice. The second half hour was okay but not very interesting and hard to keep my attention... Oh and Spike TV hasn't even launched yet and I'm already sick of it. I couldn't think there was a way to be more annoying then the New TNN ads but they found a way.

Showing the Backlund/Snuka match a few weeks ago shows how much more impressive it was when Snuka tried it in 1980 in the course of the match for the World Title, instead of as a post match beatdown. And, since the match with 'The Rock' Don Muraco was 3 months prior to Hogan winning the World Title, how could it be that over 22,000 were in attendance at MSG? According to Hogan Lore, wrestling was performed in empty buildings prior to his becoming world champ.
Only caught a little of the Blassie piece (Ward/Gatti III took precedence), but considering the tasteless style they've gone lately I'm surprised they didn't rerun the segment from the Invasion where Vince's daughter screamed at Blassie that he was going to die.

The Blassie piece was good. I agree with all of you on Kelly Ripa. If you watch SNL, Amy Poehler does a hilarious imitation of her.

Sadly, I fell asleep during the Brock Lesnar segment, otherwise I would've mentioned at least one crazy thing he said.

I liked Mysterio in Mexico.

Overall, Confidential was so-so.

The "Rey in Mexico" segment is straight from the 619 DVD. His face is blurred there as well. (Yet they do show his face as a child and a teenager...)WWE revisionist history now states that he NEVER lost his mask.

I like Ripa. She's pretty hot. She's the kind of annoying that makes you just want to do her, so she'll shut up. But of course, if you're any good at it, it'll only make her louder.

Anyway, I liked the Blassie piece. Well done, but again, a lot of hyperbole. If you notice, the week after any wrestler's death he becomes the greatest wrestler alive. I love Blassie, but I've never before heard in my life that he was the prototype for a platinum-blond heel. Does Freddy honestly rank anywhere near Gorgeous George, Buddy Rogers, Pat O'Connor, Ray Stevens? All of whom were bigger draws in their territories at least for short-term periods?

Ok, so Pat O'Connor wasn't blond. But you see my point. Factoring in Thesz, who was one of the biggest stars of early television, and you can really see that Blassie wasn't quite as big as he was made out to be. He was fun to watch as he hob-nobbed with stars, but other wrestlers may well have been doing that. And also, they blatantly lied about him being the biggest in Japan. You can't tell me Blassie is bigger in Japan than Inoki.

Ivory made me hard with that whip. The FBI is boring as hell. Brock in scotland...for a second I thought the russians were taking over.

Fred Blassie was a huge draw in California through the 50's, 60's and 70's and in Georgia before that. He was a good wrestler but it was he speaking that brought people into the arenas.

His 1971 match with John Tolos still holds the record for the most attendance at a wrestling event ever in the state of California and at the time was the biggest gate in history up to that point.

As a wrestler, he was a bigger draw then that Confidential piece made him out to be.

AHOY MATES!Blassie was the NWA World Heavy Weight Champion when that was THE Title. He worked for years in japan and was well respected there. watch the Andy Kaufman video "my breakfast with Blassie." the skits were staged but the parts where he talks about his history are awesome and for the most part non kayfabe.

Rey can go to TJ unmasked but the rest of Mex isn't so happly about him. and on the 619 dvd he does mention briefly about being demasked but they never show it.

That's just ignorant.

I'd say that announcers during the "olden days" spent at least 75% of their time talking about the match in front of them.
