I've become a big fan of watching ECHL hockey. Who is your favorite ECHL team? I pesonally can't stand the Icegators but I usually support nearby Baton Rouge or New Orleans franchises. check out the web site at www.echl.com
It may not be the NHL but it still is hardnose Wall to Wall hockey!
Big Time Trenton Titans fan up here in NJ - sure is a lot better to watch these days than my beloved NY Rangers.......too many friends in Lafayette from my old traveling days to hate the IceGators.....Louisiana Hockey Rules

The Trenton Titans OWNZORZ. Even without Scott Sterling, they are rocking the North Conference and are second in the league with a record of 25-9-7. What's scary is that the expansion Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies are close behind Trenton in fourth place in the ECHL with a record of 24-9-6. Oh, and the Louisana IceGators are the X-Pac of the league; I can't stand them nor their 32-5-3 record either

Hey GuruZim, I just learned the New Orleans Brass is one of the San Jose Sharks Minor league affliates, I think Double A.
I thought we were the Dallas Stars club but I guess the Brass switched on me.
No, the New Orleans Brass of the ECHL aren't affilated with anyone in the NHL. The Richmond Renegades are affilated with the S.J. Sharks. (An aside: The Cleveland Barons are the AHL affilate) For some odd reason, my new issue of The Hockey News is also telling me that the Dayton Bombers are also affilates of the Sharks, but the info from ECHL.com and daytonbombers.com says that Dayton's only affilation are the Columbus Blue Jackets.

they must have changed on me again, The 2000-2001 media guide for the Brass had the Sharks and the Brass 1999-2000 media guide had the Stars as our affliate.
I will find out for sure, but I guess unlike minor league baseball, it is a year to year thing.
I'm a Wheeling Nailers Fan, and they are the ECHL team run directly by its NHL parent club, The Pittsburgh Penguins. Plus right now we are getting alot of attention from all sort of hockey press due to Coach Brophy getting close to 1000 professional wins( only Scotty Bowman has done it), and I guess from all the stories he is ledgend in developing future big league pros.
I can't believe this is the tenth season of the Thunderbirds/Nailers being in town, I remember when the league was actually east coast and had teams in the north. I miss Erie, Columbus, and Huntington they were great rival games. Now I did miss a few seasons when I was in the Army, but I did get to watch WPHL hockey when I was in Texas (the Central Texas Stampede) but that league in my opinion didn't come close in quality to the ECHL as far as "AA" hockey goes. The Stampede would go out an goon there way to the best regular season title, but when it mattered they chocked in the playoffs, plus the next year they folded midway throught the season due to the ownership not knowing crap on running a team. But now I'm back in ECHL country and loving it, plus if I can get some of my buddies to go tommorrow is Coach Brophy Bobble Head doll night.

Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?
A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"
My local team is the Reading Royals, and I attended my first game at their charming little mudhole^H^H^H^H^H^H^Harena last week. Good stuff; it won't make me give up my (AHL) Phantoms tickets, but I will be going more often.
When I was in college, the Raleigh Icecaps were created in the ECHL, but apparently that team died off in '98. Oh, well.
HELLO KITTY gang terrorizes city, family STICKERED to death!
Hmm..so when is the Let's Go Rangers song used then? Wasn't that the goal song? Damnit, I just realized I could, no WOULD have been there if my trip hadn't been canceled. Is that guy still there in the nosebleeds who dances to the 2Unlimited song?
