Yes, it's been established that Hip Hop isn't the Wienerboard's first choice of music. But I saw the first Ja Rule thread and I see this whole thing's been garnering some interest. With that in mind:

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1472090/20030527/ja_rule.jhtml?headlines=true

Yes, folks. Ja Rule hasn't given up and he's recruited one of the Outlawz to help him in his war against Aftermath. Why this idiot CONTINUES to feel the need to escalate this situation is beyond me, but can we just establish one thing right now?

TUPAC SHAKUR IS DEAD!!! HE'S BEEN DEAD SINCE 1996!!!

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the inevitable retaliation (and having followed Eminem, there WILL be more retaliation) as much as the next person, but does this whole thing strike anyone else as pointless? And is anybody else getting sick of Ja Rule starting more fires and burning more bridges? Does he REALLY think he's going to come out looking good when this is all over? The whole "singing thug" routine is bad enough, but to be waging war against the hottest acts today (50 Cent and Eminem) and the hottest act of yesterday (Dr. Dre) just strikes me as incredibly pointless and stupid.

Thoughts?

Ok, so maybe all the other guys haven't worked, but will THIS be the man to save WWE???

Um...probably not.

It's a cycle that will keep on repeating. Rappers' egoes are always going to clash. Whether it's a nationaly published feud or a tussle after a freestyle session.

I not a fan of either guy but Em would destroy Ja Rule in battle.

Actually, let them all act, and yes, let me restate that, ACT like they are tough little gangstas, and shoot each other all up. I just dont get the deal, the whole east coast/west coast thing was retarded, and some of the only decent hip hop artists of the 90s died as a result, but these stupid fucking morons cant just say "Fuck it, I am just gonna put out albums, get rich and mind my business" They all think they have to act all bad ass. Bunch of fucking idiots, let them kill themselves off, and perhaps one day hip hop can emerge back into an enjoyable music genre again, and not the utter shit it has become.

Ja Rule is a little, little man. He can't rap, he can't act, and he complains about everyone.

I do enjoy the rap dissess that Eminem "leaks" out. They're usually pretty funny and creative. Especially the ones against Benzino.

Ah, Ja Rule bashing.
I missed the last thread before it closed.
I'm so glad to see others agree that this punk has no talent.
Jennifer Lopez featuring Ja Rule, Ashanti featuring Ja Rule,...see a pattern? Does he even have a song without a female singing on it? I can't believe the local Top 40 teeny bopper station plays his songs with lyrics like "keep my bitches high on ecstasy" and "F**** you with the skirt on, in the back seat of my Yukon, ...you know how we do it feet to shoulder" Does this guy have anything to say? I like hip-hop that makes me think or makes me laugh. This guy does neither.

About the only thing Ja has going for him is his unique voice. I like the way it sounds. He doesn't say much I'm interested in hearing but it's a good voice.

I wonder how that Hieroglyphics album is coming along...

Let's not forget DMX and Busta Rhymes. I think Ja Rule is in way over his head. I used to think he was alright back in the "Holla, Holla" days, but this whole singing thing he's been doing is weak. I knew he'd lost his mind about a year ago when I heard him challenge DMX to a fight or a battle or something. What a sad, deluded man.

My favourite Ja Rule moment was when he was on SNL and had not one, not two, not three, but FOUR keyboardists. It was like he was a member of Yes or something.

Hmm, don't know how I missed this post yesterday, but I have to disagree about the unique voice thing. As a matter of fact, when Ja first came out, everybody and his brother tagged him as a DMX wannabe. I agree that his voice has carried him a long way, but it isn't quite unique.

Actually, according to an interview Ja gave to Yahoo!, he was supposed to come out before DMX, but he was stuck in a shitty record deal and had to wait until it expired and he could sign elsewhere. In the meantime, DMX came out with his stuff first. At this time, they were actually close friends. When DMX was first getting popular, Ja was backing him up and whatnot. Apparently, DMX is now using that previous relationship to call Ja his old "hype man" and that has Ja pissed off. Ah, hip hop drama.

Heh. As you can tell I don't listen to a lot of above ground rap. Gimme some Talib Kweli. I don't even bother with Mtv, Da Bassment or radio at all. Bites me in the ass sometimes but that's okay.

When the song came out originally, I seem to only remember hearing the radio edit version. I was shocked the first time I heard "fuck" at the end of Who Are You on the radio. I believe it was during 'safe harbour' hours.
