So we've had threads on 24's season finale, Simpsons season finale, Buffy and Angel season finales, so which season finale was the best? (among all tv shows, not just the ones listed above)

THAT IS AWESOME!

I'd have to vote on The West Wing, actually. Talk about a shocker. John Goodman is the (interim?) president now?

Over 1250 posts and still never a Wiener of the Day!

In the issues of December 16th, 2000 to November 10th, 2001, we may have given the impression that George W. Bush had been legally and duly elected president of the United States. We now understand that this may have been incorrect, and that the election result is still too close to call. The Economist apologizes for any inconvenience.

In addition to 24's excellent season finale, the Sopranos' season finale way back in December was awesome as well.

The Shield. A satisfying ending which makes me look forward to next year, when, by the looks of things....EVERYTHING CHANGES! Am I going to have to wait till January again? The wait was interminable last time around!

Also, a little off the beaten path, and it was a while ago (though I just saw it replayed earlier this week), but I would have to give a nod to the 3-part Justice League finale, which Cartoon Network presented as a TV movie (new episodes start July 5th).

Why not? He was once the King of England.

Where's the love for OZ? Violent, a Don't Fuck With Quernz comment, violent, and enough storylines left open for me to delude myself that it could possibly return to the air.
Also, I must say on the season finale of West Wing: John Goodman did look Presidential. That's a phrase I never thought would enter the English language.

The original. And you just knew that was coming when Jack got 'that look' when the boy mentioned that his first encounter was on Labour Day.

I agree on The West Wing. Sorkin went out with a bang - the last two episodes this season may well have been the best yet. Whomever takes over is going to have some huge shoes to fill - and they better not fuck this storyline up.

I agree with Big Bad--TWW was the best, not only for the surprise ending but for the overall episode as well. Then again, on any given week I'll probably think TWW had the best show of the week...I just hope the new writers can keep that up next season.

The Simpsons finale(s) was very funny, especially the Beatles stuff and Moe with Maggie (woman: "Awww, she looks just like you." Moe: "Are you saying she's repugnant, because we're gonna have a problem...")

The Practice finale was pretty poor.

I've never seen King Ralph, but isn't it weird to wear a Packers jacket AND a Cubs hat? Or does the rivalry not carry over from football to baseball?

EDIT: Punctuation and spelling.

No, it doesn't. We've got a whole bunch of Cubbies fans up here in Titletown, USA...probably as many as Brewers fans. Milwaukee baseball's been so bad for so long that a lot of folks have latched onto the Cubs, even if they are from Chicago.

Come football season, though, wear a Bears jacket and you get a whole bunch of evil eyes upon you...such as mine. :-)
