Nathan Jones recently threatened to quit World Wrestling Entertainment and return to Australia due to some sort of dispute with management. Johnny Ace calmed down Jones and word going around is that Jones was given a pay raise.
Three words for WWE: CUT. YOUR. LOSSES.

In the issues of December 16th, 2000 to November 10th, 2001, we may have given the impression that George W. Bush had been legally and duly elected president of the United States. We now understand that this may have been incorrect, and that the election result is still too close to call. The Economist apologizes for any inconvenience. --- The Economist, 11/17/01
They've *got* to know he's got no upside. This was the perfect opportunity to let him go w/out having to pay him out, and they go & give him a pay raise. I'm sure that's going to make more than a few people upset in the lockerroom.
"i dont know what it is or what it could be but i get a woody when these pussies try to push me thinkin they gonna put me in a position to pickle me y'all tickle me pink i think i'd just rather have Pink Tickle Me" Biggie, 50 Cent, Eminem "The Realest" (RemiX)
The fact the he did/may/could've/should've threaten management is irrelevant...the guy sucked. He sucked so bad, they actually booked him to look like he sucked to explain away the fact that he sucked.
Yet Rhyno, Jaime Noble, and Rey Mysterio have nothing to do. There's your bullshit.
I really doubt they gave the guy a pay raise. That one probably popped up three or four people in the game of "telephone" that is the wrestling rumors scene.
Maybe they upped his WM pay off. There's been some stink about those. I just don't see them giving a raise to someone they apparently had to take off the card because he sucks so bad.
This better be internet bullshit. Because if not, it proves the point that Vince McMahon has gone insane. Anyone want to even attempt to spin Nathan Jones getting a raise (hell, him just not getting a pay cut on principle) as a positive?
I consider the switch from Pathetic to Loser to be a promotion.
You know you can take decisive, definitive words as "word is going around" to the bank! This has to be 100% true. And how do these guys at the Torch get such detail into the behind of scenes happenings of the WWE? I mean, with such details as "some sort of dispute with management". Man, stories like these make me feel just like I was there! Great story!!!
I think they have found a pretty good role for Nathan Jones the last couple of weeks.
Yeah, you can see how his role at WrestleMania deserved a big payoff....
"The Rock also knows damn well, what in recent years the WCW Title has come to... Diamond Dallas Page? Booker T? The guy from Scream 2, the dog from Married with Children, the maid from the Jeffersons! Shane McMahon, this title is just like your sister, everybody gets a turn!"
I read a differing version of this story with some rather pertinent words attatched at the end.
"Nathan Jones recently got so angry backstage in WWE that he reportedly threatened to quit the company and return to Australia.
WWE road agent John Lauranitis was able to settle Jones down and was said to have persuaded him to stay with the company by giving him a pay raise, however that has not been confirmed."
Presumably this was the word from 'many of the boys' at hotel RumourMill in Inside Sources, who 'were said to be upset' at the possibility that this alleged story could conceivably have the potential to be, in some part at least, true.

You might be on the right trail but you've got the wrong guy. Does this story make Nathan Jones, whom the internet already hates, look bad or does it make WWE management look bad? More specifically Johhny Ace, whose decisions have recently come under fire(LOD, Matt Hardy). He's the guy they're trying to put heat on. And Vince for letting this bullshit go on, of course.
WWE.com is reporting that Jones is out because he chipped a bone in his elbow and it was causing him excrutiating pain, so Dr. Andrews performed surgery to remove it. He's not expected back on Smackdown for several weeks.
