No, when I said 'people', I should have clarified that I meant 'a lot of people on the internet, including a significant number and this board'. Sorry.
And what other matches will you be watching for, FAB?
...full of energy. Multi-orgasmic, if you will, in a cosmic sort of way."
How'd I know that would be the next question you'd ask? Because I'm PSYCHIC. That's how.
I've never planned on ordering the show myself. The battle royal should be good once it gets down to the final four. The six man tag Smackdown! hinted sounds nice too.
Wait.... is someone insinuating that an entire PPV can hinge on Chavo Guerrero? I'm a fan of Chavo's, but c'mon... Isn't Benoit on good terms with the Guererro's again? If so, they could easily replace Chavo with Benoit. Benoit has a long history with Eddie, was fighting Team Angle just a few months ago and can obviously uphold his end as far as the quality of the match. Plus he's won the tag team titles in a ladder match before (TLC4), so they could even use that to fuel the storyline about Team Angle being out of their element. (And hey, Taz is even likely to remember Benoit being on the winning team in TLC 4, so it might even come up.)
Personally, though, I'd like to see Eddie bring Super Porky up from Mexico. Don't ask me why, but he's become one of my favourite wrestlers recently. I think it was the result of hitting my head after watching one of his matches and not understanding a damn word the commentators were saying and then all of the sudden, one of them yells out SUPERRRRRR PORRRRRRRRRRKY and I fell out of my chair laughing.
If Dragon is still recovering from his injury, then is a ladder match really the best way to go? That being said, it would still be an awesome way to introduce him.
I think the more obvious and logical choice is Chris Benoit. The eight-man can easily be changed to Undertaker/Jones/Rhyno/Spanky against Cena/the FBI.
Over 1200 posts and still never a Wiener of the Day!
Really, if they told you that SARS was being pumped through the ventilation system into every theatre in which this was being shown, would you be any less likely to go see it?-- review of 'Daddy Day Care' at fametracker.com
Ultimo has been wrestling for months now, but I don't think a ladder match would be the best choice for his first WWE match. I mean sure, it sounds cool as hell, but he would be in a new ring with people he's never wrestled before, trying on a different style. The possibility for injury would seem to be very high. Therefore, I'd say go with Benoit.
How about scrapping the whole damn ladder concept. Jeez people, all the bleeding threads about REAL WRESTLING and how many wrestlers are needlessly injured and "oh the WWE makes them do terrible things" and then you look forward to one of the stupidest added-danger concepts in wrestling history?

I agree with this wholeheartedly. It's an unnecessary risk, especially when Angle and Edge are out with neck injuries.
BUT if they were determined to do this, I'd bring in Kanyon as Eddie's partner. True, he has no heat as a face or heel, but he's innovative and willing to take some high-risk spots. I think he'd win the crowd over soon enough during the match, and it would give him an in.
Paying fans are expecting a ladder match, and the temptation would definitely strong to keep that stipulation in. Let's face it though, now that Chavo is out of the equation, Los Guerreros cannot function and they are the team fans are getting behind. While Eddie can have a substitute partner (Benoit was my first thought considering the history and the chemistry, but Kanyon or Ultimo Dragon are exciting alternatives), there's no way the belts are changing hands this Sunday... at least if we're discussing this sensibly. Without Chavo, the team dynamic changes which gives Team Angle the upper hand and giving the win to a makeshift tag team makes Los Guerreros look like a losing team that couldn't get the job done. Involving a ladder with any of the three suggestions is dangerous considering their injury history. Benoit definitely doesn't need it, and it wouldn't help a returning star to injure themselves again (hello Orton, Randy and Nash, Kevin).
The best choice I see thusfar is to put Eddie Guerrero against Shelton Benjamin (who I see as the better of the two in that team). We'll involve Haas in some shenanigans, and get a run-in from one of the suggested faces (who, maybe, get a little taunt from Team Angle in an earlier segment). Give one final win to Team Angle, via shenanigans, and we set the scene for a new team to continue the feud without making anything look too dumb.
I hope Chavo can stay on TV in some capacity during his recovery as he and Eddy are gold on TV, and it would be a shame to miss out on their dynamic.
