Finally got to see it yesterday (Derby and storm cleanup were more important), and enjoyed it immensely. Are there nits to pick, sure. Of course, they only came to light for me after the movie was over, and not during for the most part.
Alan Cumming was indeed awesome as Nightcrawler, seeing Colossus was very welcome, and berserker Wolverine was too cool for school!
Ian McKellan is indescribably great as Magneto. He has that simmering, could take you out at any time, but appears so tame when he has to vibe going. I think his lack of chewing up scenery as an over-the-top bad guy says wonders about his ability as an actor and realizing it's an ensemble piece and while he's probably the best actor in the room, it's not his place to deliberately try and outshine everyone and make the movie "his." Of course, I have no way of knowing what's going on inside his mind, that's just the impression I get.
I'm actually hoping that the "Phoenix" story becomes a subplot in the 3rd movie and sets up a 4th movie so it doesn't become a "Search for Spock" and kill the parallels to the Star Trek Wrath of Khan/Search for Spock vibe people are drawing.
Hopefully we're going to see some Sentinels at some point (just my selfish wish).
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned one of the best comic adaptations (although it's not billed as such) Masters of the Universe. On the surface it appears to be He-Man, but if you look at little closer, you might see some of Jack Kirby's "New Gods" in the mix, or not.

I can't add anymore comments that what already has been here, heh. Jackman and Cumming and McKellan, they just rule the school, as do Colossus and Beast and Shadowcat cameos. But I saw it again tonight, and noticed a new mutant name. It's on the second computer, the one with Cerebro, and it's a folder name: Tom Cassidy.

Who?

Tom Cassidy is Syrn's Uncle, Banshee's brother and Juggernaught's best friend. He apperantly became a plant and tried to kill some X-Men a few issues ago. Thus, Juggernaught is now with the X-Men. Christ, they got fucking Strynski for Spiderman, couldn't they open the pocket book up for Gaiman or Moore.
