I admit i really dont care for edge. I guess he's an OK worker. And i guess he can be pretty funny at times. But having him go 50/50 with Jericho, I mean c'mon. I dont know about the rest of you but edge was alot more entertaining singingalong to a kazoo. Yeah his entrance is cool, but last time I checked i didn't here an E-D-G-E chant in the crowd. And ten bucks sez by the time WM20 rolls around Edgeward will be on stolen finisher # 7.
Edge is ok to me, but he still has a long way to go to get to the top. Every time he comes out i wonder why he is still wearing the black "we are what we are and we will become what we will become" vampire cape. I think he needs an updated look. I still like him as a midcarder though.
Updating Ohio State's basketball record could get to be a chore. Just remember, Michigan sucks.
Both him and Christian have gone WAY down in my eyes since their break-up. Maybe their break-up and individual pushes were handled wrong or maybe they're just better as a tag team.
Edge is boring. He's not very menacing when he tries to look "tough". His matches seem to be very formulaic. The crowd seems to go dead as soon as his music stops.
But he wasn't always boring. He used to be the highlight of many shows when he was with Christian. He was even very entertaining when running down Billy and X-Pac. The common denominator is that he got over with humor, and that has been taken away in this lackluster Regal fued.
He needs to drop the badass act and entertain the crowd again.
I miss the Team ECK or RECK days so much. There was a time early last year that they were the best thing on WWF TV. Now Edge is just some guy and Christian hardly makes it on TV and when he does he's some guy with a cool entrence.
The Tag division is so brutal and they were certainly the best thing on there, now there is so much talent in the single ranks and I think it's insane to push Edge like he's more important then someone like RVD (ie 6 man tage and Edge get's introduced after RVD like he's the star people are waiting for)
I think Edge needs a new name. I don't think anyone can be on top of the WWF for any significant amount of time with a one syllable name. Kane suffers from this too. He is a top guy, but he can't carry the Fed.
In case anyone feels the need to point it out, Rock has a "the" in front of his name.
If you set your expectations low enough, you will never fail.

That may work if there was never a man named STING!
As for Edge I kinda wanna be an Edge fan I just can never get into his matches. He should go back to fighting Christian.
People say that Edge has been buried since his win at KotR. But, I recall him getting wins over guys like RVD, Angle, Kane, Regal and Test. Two former World Champions and three guys that could conceivavbly be put in a main event match on free TV without insulting the fans intelligence. Plus he's one of a handful of WWF wrestlers with theme music by known recording artists. The WWF wouldn't give that much to somebody they weren't highon. Even the Rock has WWF produced music.
Sometimes I can't tell if people are blind, or just not letting the facts get in the way of bitching about the product.
"HOROWITZ WINS! HOROWITZ WINS! HOROWITZ WINS!" Jim Ross
What happened to Edge freaking out and punking out the referees? It seemed like they might be going for some sort of frustration angle, but no mention of it since.
For that matter what happened to Test wiping out the refs (or the fact that he can't be fired, that seems to have been dropped as well)
True, Edge has had some big wins over some impressive guys and it hasn't done jack, but you can't just win matches and that's it there has to be some kind of story to go along with it. Plus every time he loses he gets thrown back into something with Steven Regal when he was boring. Now, i'm not saying Edge is the greatest wrestler or anything, but since being a singles wrestler he really hasn't be given all that time to shine like he did when he was a tag team.
Remember when he ran down Billy Gunn after winning the KOTR? Everyone seemed to enjoy that, but that was the end of him ever getting any significant air time.
Yeah, if they wanted to get Edge over, I'd have to see him on my TV doing something in a storyline, rather than this random booking against Jericho. Same goes for Test. I have no idea why Test does anything at all, so I really don't care to watch him.

Edge is currently in a feud with William Regal over the Intercontinental Title. Edge keeps getting screwed by Regal and the brass nucks. Edge is in a storyline as far as i'm concerned.

What I think he meant was that it seems like Edge is just thrown out there in the ring with no additional interview time, skits, or such that it seems like he had before. He just gets a < 2 minute match (the Edge-Storm match a month or 2 ago was a farce, it was so short) where Regal interferes somehow. There is just no feeling of actual character advancement with Edge. The WWF seems so tied up with the upper-card (a 20-minute plus "wedding" - sigh...) that the lower tier guys (IC and below) are getting no real time for their stories.
Here's hoping the rumored split will allow more time/development for the guys getting glossed over right now.
I'll be sold on Edge once he starts trash talking again and backing it up, and having an entertaining feud...
---=---:---=--- [Look up a line] Wow, that belt looks like crap... I'll take it and carry it around for years and see if people can take it away from me... What? What was that? You mean even THIS belt doesn't matter! What? I'm insulted! Get away from me you... you... defiler!
I was reading the Heyman/Lillian Garcia Thread and it came to me that maybe the problem doesn't lay so much in the booking of the wrestling/wrestlers or in the recent over the top storylines, but in the television presentation of it all.
