What I am hoping is that this will prove, once and for all, that judged sports have no business in the Olympics.

The final placings in Ice Dancing will be as follows - keep in mind that competition has not yet even begun.

Gold - Italy
Silver - Russia
Bronze - France
4th - Lithuania
5th - Canada

Should this come true, 1 of 2 things will be absolutely irrefutable:

1 - I am the foremost expert on ice dancing in the entire world.
2 - The outcome was pre-determined.

I'd bet heavily on #2.

Be sure to remember that if Italy falls down three or four times, no matter how pre-determined the outcomes were, they cannot win the gold. Only the silver. But not, I repeat NOT the gold.

I hope.

I think we all already know that judged sports are not sports. They are staged.

Real sports have balls and pucks and you can hit each other.

I don't know anything about Ice Dancing :) I just assumed it was a different version of Ice Skating. So actually, anybody who wants to enlighten me, feel free. :-)

Perhaps "prove once and for all" WAS a tad strong. How about "lend credence to the theory"?
EDIT: Just read that the IOC awarded a gold medal to the Canadian pair (they'll share it with the Russians) and suspended the French judge, on which the IOC had evidence of collusion. Gotta give the IOC kudos this time - I didn't expect anything to happen at all. A definate step in the right direction. And that should be the end of all my bitching which I'm sure everybody's sick of. Thanks for putting up with it! :)

More geopolitical(cosmopolitical?) than anything else, but kudos to the European Space Agency for going ahead with ion propulsion: Europe readies to shoot for the moon LONDON (AP)
