After a week's full of wacky sci-fi related discussions about what was going to happen tonight, this is what we get?

LAME!

Holy cow. That finale was just about insane.

Odessa, I think you're forgetting something... the show really isn't a sci-fi show (Marshall notwithstanding), so to expect a sci-fi style ending would be to go against a lot of what the show had previously established.

That being said, did anyone get a time-machine vibe from the last 5 minutes? That was just so incredibly weird, especially if they stay 2 years in the future. Of course, all the "resolved" plotlines may very well come unresolved, which could either be really cool or really annoying.

At least the fight scene was insane.

That's exactly what I thought. I'm glad it wasn't all a 'dream' (so far anyway). It was a kind of stupid way to end, but hopefully it means we'll get some all-new good stuff next season.

If she travels back in time at any point during the series, I'm going to be pissed though.

It wouldn't have been so bad if Syd had been climbing out of the shower at the end.....

One of the rumors that I had heard leading up to the season finale is that the final Rimbaldi artifact would be a time travel machine, leading to:

1) Sloane going back in time to save his wife

2) Revealing that Sloane actually is Rimbaldi.

Neither has been contradicted yet. But, I just hated the end, esp. since they didn't kill Will.

I agree, not killing Will was a bit of a cop-out on their part. That's not really what I'm waiting anxiously to find out, though. Evidently Syd did something to save him, else why would she have the scar?

I really hope they avoid the entire time-travel arc. Things could just get WAY too confusing (although the writers have been known to leave plot holes the size of semis before), not to mention downright screwy. I don't think that's a road they want to travel down, but I may be wrong.

Now, time-stasis? That's another issue entirely. If Sydney was locked up in stasis for the last two years while everyone else went on with their lives...

Also, another theory to throw out there. Kendall said that everyone thought Syd was dead - but he never mentioned for the last 2 years. (Besides, with the CIA, what are the odds that a code like that would work 2 years after being issued? You know they change them.) Perhaps she was only gone for a few months, and can't remember anything that happened previous due to amnesia.

This still leaves the Rambaldi mystery unsolved, though....

I think the reason they didn't kill Will was because they were so heavily foreshadowing his death, only to have him escape it, only to have him almost die... he's giving Weiss a run for his money.

I just watched the last two episodes on tape and I thought the finale and the cliffhanger were very well done. I am thinking, however, that the time travel thing is too obvious for them to go with and that they'll spend a bunch of episodes working throungh where Syd has been. Of course, by using the show's precedent, the could just use some regression therapy and figure it out.

Considering that they've got me to be into a show where things like a 15th-century philosopher/prophet predicted exact world events 500 years away and they created technology to "double" people and it used not to create a duplicate world leader or someone important, but *Francie*, of all people, I think I can give the writers the benefit of the doubt that they'll be able to explain the two years missing from Sydney's life.

I hope to get this, even though it's $60. I can't wait to see the alternate ending. Maybe one of the other characters dies?
