Embarassing as it may be, I'm a big Michelle Branch fan (ever since her demo found it's way into my collection via my station). As such, I really like it, and I think it fits with the mood of the show ending. Maybe a little Teen Pop? Yeah, but that's the audience that Buffy's always tried swinging for.
It still has some deep seeded meaning for Buffy fans anyway, because that's the song that played when everybody imploded during "Tabula Rasa", so it works.
*does R-V-D taunt*
Glad to see i'm not the only MB fan here. Hate to go a little off-topic here, but Dawson's Creek is also using her new song ("Are You Happy Now?") for their finale promos.
Anyway, I also completely agree with Excalibur's first alaysis above. Seeing them finally turn on Buffy was pretty cool.
As for the Xander kiss next week...
--POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT (that could very well be next week or not)!!!--
It could very well be Xander/Dawn. I read another spoiler elsewhere about a month back explaining one scene where Xander is asked to take Dawn out of town. I didn't see the promo next week, I don't know if the kiss was in a car or not, but that might be the situation that prompts the kiss.
My Sports Team Support List: Go Dodgers! Go Brewers! Go Lakers!
The kiss in the promo looked like Xander and the unidentified girl lying on a floor (in a kitchen?). There look to be three panels on the far side of them (brown, white, brown), and then there's another brown panel (wall, furniture?) on the near side of them. The panels are only visible to about two feet off the ground. The near panel obscures them from below the waist, although it is clear they are wearing pants. The girl is just in a bra. Xander still has a flannel on. The girl is on top. Interpret from this what you may.

Please God, no. I don't need Xander molesting Dawn. If that shit happens then I think Joss has finally lost it. My guess is that its Anya since the room is dark and you can;t make it out. I think Xander is going to end up being the Watcher character for the next chosen one. I see Giles going back to reform the Councile or just dying. I've heard the BBC rumors too, but I just don't see it happening.
Wouldn't the network censors have an issue with sex between a 15/16-year old Dawn and a 23/24 year old Xander? I would bet that it would be Anya. If there were going to be a "dark horse" candidate, I'd have to recall Seasons 1-3 and bet on Willow. Though, if I understand correctly, certain special interest groups would staunchly object to Willow "reverting" to men.
If the special interests care so much, they should put on their own show where they can control the characters and let them do what they want.
That said, Xander is only 22. Dawn is 16. Its not the prettiest of numbers, but when Buffy was Dawn's age she was kissing a 240 year old guy. As far as sex goes, all I can say is that wasn't in the promo. Besides, as for Willow, she and Kennedy were clearly shown in bed together.
Bear in mind though this is all speculation. An Angel promo recently showed Fred and Angel kissing, but when they did it is was so they could hide, and not romantic at all. On Friends weren't they hyping a kiss between Rachel and Joey that turned out to be a dream sequence? And last week in the trailer they showed Dawn kissing Buffy on the cheek this week, which apparently got edited out. So this all may be much ado about nothing.
However, given Dawn's past crush on Xander (which they brought up this season in Him, the same episode with the "daddy like" comment I keep quoting), Xander's speech to Dawn at the end of Potential, and Dawn's concern and touchiness towards Xander last episode, I'm squarely in the camp that thinks it will be them. (Although I would buy it being in a Xander dream sequence).
I apologize for apologizing for being a Buffy/Angel mark.

A)Slayer blood runs through 3 folk, Buffy, Faith, and Dawn. Somethin's gonna happen to balance that.
B)Buffy's the key to Armageddon, she has to be. The power is hers, and as the First Good/Not Joyce/Not Darla said she's not going to choose Dawn.
C)If they kill Xander, I will cry without shame. Poor guy. Isn't Dawn 16-17 now? Speaking of which, where's the disasterous birthday Buffy's due for now?
Hey Burkett, quit friggin appologizin fer bein a Whedon mark.

Synopsis? Anyone? Help a Bongo out?
Well you hooked me up with the Lain speak, so I'll do my best.
Willow and Giles got FBI files about religious type violence in hopes of tracking info on Caleb.
Xander got visited by Buffy and Willow. Xander's opening line of "I'm gonna need a parrot" was yet another reason to worship the Xand (Iron) Man.
In the basement, Anya tries to coach the Potentials/recap the situation and last few weeks. The ones who actually have names ditch to hang out with Faith upstairs. Andrew writes "Breakup Sex" on a white board and I laugh.
Buffy went to the school to get her things. Caleb kicked her ass.
Giles sent Anrew and Spike to investigate a church Caleb attacked.
Faith took the Potentials to the Bronze, where a group of whacky cops tried to kill her. Faith did something Buffy has failed to do repeatedly when she rallied the troops to fight as a team. Cops get K'Oed, Buffy arrives and punches Faith for taking the girls out. Buffy is getting more like SMG by the episode...
Caleb talks to the First about manipulating "Her".
Spike and Andrew discover that Caleb found an inscription saying the power is "for her alone"
Faith and Wood interracted. Big house meeting as Xander comes home. Buffy, acting dumber and more callous by the minute turns "Welcome Back Xander" into "Let's go get our asses kicked again." Giles disagrees. Buffy bitches, and is put in her place. Wood disagrees. Buffy bitches, and is put in her place. Anya disagrees. Buffy bitches, and is put in her place. Xander disagrees. Buffy bitches, and is put in her place. Willow disagrees. Buffy bitches, and is put in her place. Dawn disagrees. Buffy bitches, and is kicked out the damn house.
How'd I do?

You mean OTHER than the Scoobie Gang turning on Buffy?
The Obtuse Angle (wienerboard.com) <- No kidding, right? Buffy 7.19 gets a 8.33 Cat fighting! Clem! Curly Fries! Faith dancing! It's a bumpy ride to the end. Next week: Faith and Wood? Ech.

Good point about Buffy morphing into SMG. Was it just me or did the "putting Buffy in her place" promos strike anyone else as a shoot? Anyway, you done good, Angry Johnny.
But Colbert was absolutely correct... http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,284920,00.html (sorry for the Fox link my liberal friends) I think the ocean and Lyndsay Lohan need to start dating other people.
