Reports are coming in that the WWE has started cutting jobs. They've started with the front office and it seems like it is only a matter of time until the hit the roster. With ratings, house shows attendance and PPV buys all in the dumps I say that it's about damn time.

Except don't just cut the Credible and the Ravens like they have in the past. Cut half the damn roster. It's time for the WWE to cut it's roster down to where it was before the WCW/ECW collapses. It's also time to cut down to the one roster, two show format that they used to use. At this point I don't really care who stays and who goes. There are to many people doing to little to even care about anymore.

Yeah, but who do you release? That is the question and what I feel will be the source of great debate.

Don't worry, folks. I have a feeling that Triple H's job is secure. He won't be going anywhere for a long time! ;)

I love the fantasy land that WWE exists in. Business has been going down for years, getting worse every day, so what do they do? Seperate PPVs.

I wish to hell they'd get rid of every show except Raw and get rid of the split. WWE overkill is killing the whole industry. It's not like Smackdown is anything special anymore with Heyman out of power, so the split has pretty much no reason to exist for the most of us anymore.

As for roster cuts. Well if there's two elements to the creativity of a wrestling company, the workers and the bookers, then I definitely think they should fire a hell of a lot of guys who have zero charisma. Start with the big dog, Brock Lesnar, get Batista while you're at it, take Maven with them.

Rikishi, Nathan Jones,Chuck Palumbo, Bill DeMott, Chris Kanyon, Billy Kidman, Jammal & Rosie, Redd Dogg, Team Angle and even Rhyno and Tajiri and Nunzio I could all live without.

As for bigger names, I might think seriously about the contractual status of Scott Steiner and Goldberg.

Then again, maybe I'm the one in fantasy land.

Rhyno and Tajiri??! Whats wrong with them?? Eh, well, ok its your opinion but I think they're very talented(and fairly young).

I'd say start with getting rid of the all the highly useless TE kids, maybe excluding Nowinski since he has personality and potential and hey he didn't technically win the sham of a contest(he didn't need to!). Big Show, Albert, 3MW, Test, DeMott and perhaps Jones have about NOTHING to offer at this point, but you know most of them they ain't going anywhere. Some of these disposable barbie doll bimbos wasting up my TV time could really take a hike and spare us anymore useless soft porn T&A segments, but much like the previous aren't likely to go anywhere, thanks to Vince's awkward fetishes(big men, young little girls...hmm).

Ah I give. Like little old me would know whats best for them anyway.

I loved Rhyno and Tajiri in ECW but they're not really WWE style sportz entertainers are they? I can't believe I forgot A-Train, god he'd be the first guy I fired.

I don't think many would miss Rosey and Jamal if they were suddenly disappear from WWE programming. Same goes with Bill DeMott...

Bob Holly and Billy Gunn spend so much time injured that they should go. There are also a lot of poor quality wrestlers who are injured/not on TV who are cutting a hole in the finances

Now can u dig that

A swap in RAW and Smackdown rosters should also be done. Since all the younger guys aren't getting a chance to main event anyway, why not just put them on one show. That way they can do their thing on one show while the superstars/legends are on the other. I think I recall that being the original idea behind Thunder when it first debuted. The midcarders would have a chance at more tv time. At first the NWO and major angles would only be on Nitro and Thunder still did fairly well.

You are right. Thunder was only supposed to be young wrestlers and debuting wrestlers. Actually the idea was that the two shows would not even connect. But when Thunder started getting high ratigns, all the top names worked their way to Thunder.

Brock Lesnar? Are you insane? He's the most over face on SD not getting nostalgia pops, and one of the most over faces on the entire roster. Great look, bumps great, solid wrestler. Cutting Brock would be a colossal mistake.

Rikishi, Nathan Jones,Chuck Palumbo, Bill DeMott, Chris Kanyon, Billy Kidman, Jammal & Rosie, Redd Dogg, Team Angle and even Rhyno and Tajiri and Nunzio I could all live without.

Some of those names I'd agree on. However, Kanyon has charisma, good size, can wrestle, and can talk (ignore the lisp). If they're serious about a cruiser division, Kidman stays, as does Nunzio. Plus, he's (Kidman) big enough to move out of the division if needed. Tajiri is over, as is Rhyno, and both have tons of charisma. Team Angle are good young wrestlers, both w/ amateur experience, and both are getting better on the mic. Chuck's got good size, and can be a servicable mid-card guy.

While you're at it, why not Nash or HBK? Crash Holly? Bob Holly? Bradshaw? Jacqueline? Jackie Gayda?

As for bigger names, I might think seriously about the contractual status of Scott Steiner and Goldberg.

Agreed on Steiner. Goldberg might be a bit early in his WWE stint to tell.

Then again, maybe I'm the one in fantasy land.

That's the direction I'm leaning towards.

Agreed on Kanyon. I like him but I think they don't need to be working on any more WCW guys, just cut their losses with him and Bill DeMott who I also like. Same deal for Kidman, I think he's got lots of charisma and ability but to hell with him, they've got no spot for him.

Why not? The WCW guys are relatively new faces, and can be a breath of fresh air, rather than going w/ the same guys that have been there for years & years & years. Especially Kanyon, since he's been out of sight for a while because of injuries. He's talented and has a lot to offer, and the WWE shouldn't ignore that just because he's a WCW guy.

Bill DeMott I liked, too, but I wouldn't be upset if they cut him.

If the WWE does decide to have massive layoffs of wrestlers, either TNA or some other league will immediately grab them.

Guys like D-Lo and Raven are talented. TNA grabbed them because they are known to the wrestling public, and they can work well. Just because the WWE doesn't use a wrestler doesn't mean they won't go over with the fans in another league.

Look what happened to WCW. They cut a bunch of wrestlers back in 93-94... Steve Austin, Cactus Jack, Jean-Paul Levesque... and these guys became the foundation of the WWF's revival. If I were the WWE, I'd be worried that if I started cutting wrestlers left and right, I'd let the next Steve Austin go.

*raises hand sheepishly*

Um... I would a bit. I mean I'd get over it soon enough but I really think that some of the flak these guys have taken is a bit extreme.

They're both pretty mobile for big guys and can pull out some pretty cool moves IMO. I just can't understand for the life of me why they're using Rico as a valet for them. If they had been given a tried and tested manager who could cut a promo and made them a monster heel team they might have had a chance of getting over. But the Rico character just seems so at odds with their personalities that it makes the whole gimmick look stupid.

Sure they've had a couple of ropey matches and all but the guys are still pretty green and I thought they deserved more of a chance before becoming cannon fodder for all and sundry.

I would like to see Nash return to a parody of HHH's U2 video. Hell, even an exact copy, showing Nash busting his ass through rehab, would have a certain smark-ish humour to it.
