Elizabeth and Savage's relationship was truly unique, we talk about people who are remembered as standouts and Elizabeth was because of her relationship and storylines with Savage. It was mentioned on my local radio sports/news updates, plus was on page 5 in the news section of my local paper with a big photo of her (mini photos of Savage and Luger) and the story... She's a memorable character of the years gone by. Savage and her co-existed, the best I've ever seen. From her being his conscious to their matching wardrobe for all 4 of Savages matches in the World Title tournament.
I felt the same emotions all you guys felt, shocked, deep sadness, but I also experienced fright... Fright that an industry that so many of our heroes die before their time not even Miss Elizabeth is immune to this. Even though we don't know her as a person but just the thought that Miss Elizabeth dies at such a young age for whatever reason, it just shakes me to the core.
cause there's limits to our liberties. 'Least I hope and pray that there are, cause those liberal freaks go too far.
I'll crush all opposition to me And I'll make Ted Kennedy pay If he fights back, I'll say that he's gay
Ah, Miss Elisabeth...back in the day when a womans wrestler or manager didn't have to dress up in tight lycra spandex thongs and bikini shorts to be over with the fans.
Well, unfortunately like OMEGA, I find myself being affected less and less by these events and that saddens me. It is nice to see that the denizens of this place can come together at a time like this and be reflective and thoughtful and decent. That thought gives me hope.

There's not much that I can add. This truly saddens me and makes me wonder what if anything will happen in WWE to change this. It dsoesn't have to be steroids; something is making professional wrestlers use drugs to either improve their performance and take the edge off. Something has to change before somebody dies in the ring from drugs.

As of Monday, April 21 at 12:55 AM, the Boston Red Sox' Magic Number to clinch the AL East is 147. A combination of 147 Red Sox wins and New York Yankees losses will guarantee the AL East for the Boston Red Sox.

Unfortunately, it's basically being wrestlers that tends to do it. It's a necessary evil do to the abuse they do to themselves, plus the demand we put on them every night, but hopefully one day it'll come under control and be at a level where this kind of thing happening can surprise me again...

Originally posted by rlbehanThere is not a whole lot I can add to these wonderful tributes. Some of my favorite moments were the few times George 'The Animal' Steele was wrestling Macho Man on I think Saturday Night Main event, and how he loved Elizabeth. Classic moments. George was kind of like the rest of us, how could you not love her. RIP, and God Bless.
Here's what Steele (real name Jim Myers) said about Elizabeth today on Slam! Wrestling: "I had nothing but respect for her. I think she carried herself in a very respectful way during the years I knew her," he said. "It's sad to see a person that young die," Myers continued. "It's such a waste. Maybe these (recent wrestling-related) deaths start opening some eyes and change some lifestyles. Maybe it's not all in vain."
Steele is also supposed to be on Live Audio Wrestling tomorrow night (Mojo Radio Web site) to talk about her. Should be interesting...

While I don't disagree with the sentiment, I find it odd that you'd bring it up here since neither Lex nor Liz had been in the WWF for like YEARS.

I think it's just a matter of the WWF being the only real company left, so there's no one else TO change. There's no real point in saying "wrestling companies" unless you want to start counting the guys down my street that tape their shows from their garages (But just don't let those Puro guys hear me say that! They'll kill me!)

While I am leery of posting a 411 link I made the mistake of Click Here (411mania.com).
Amish gives no source but I just hope this isn't the reason for Miss Elizabeth's death. If it is true, I am about ready to jump on the Muchnick bandwagon. As morbid as this quote sounds - "Enough is enough and it's time for a change".
With the new "mass gaining" products on the market and some gym time I hoped the days of real equine steriods were over. The only 'newz' I have heard about Lugar recently was how big he got during the HHH/Steiner pose fest.
I am sorry if I am off base here. This is one time I would be glad to be completly wrong.
After a few days away from the net due to our town's giant party we have every spring, this is the first news I read. I'm completely heartbroken by this. Liz was involved in my favorite wrestling moment ever at WM 7. She was a beautiful, classy lady who paved the way for the Divas in the WWE. RIP and God bless.
Later tonight, the nWo take their overbearing methods to new madness with the launch of their own exclusive pay-per-view event. Do you want to watch 3 consecutive hours of Nick Patrick screwing over WCW wrestlers for the low low price of $29.95? Yes?
