After yesterday's improbable win and with the way Phoenix has been giving San Antonio headaches all season, is it possible that the Suns can pull of a major league upset and send the Spurs packing? I think Stephon Marbury will continue to neutralize Tony Parker and the Spurs won't find an answer for Amare Stoudemire. And I believe Shawn Marion is due for a big game, which doesn't bode well for San Antonio. Can the Suns pull off the big upset?

Personally, I hope so, because I'm a huge Lakers fan and the Spurs have Los Angeles shaking in their boots. The last thing L.A. wants to see is a Lakers/Spurs second round.

You know it won't be long now. May God help us all!

I think it's more likely the Spurs will actually get the wakeup call and realise what's going on. Hey, I'd be THRILLED if the Suns won but all the stars had to be in alignment for them to win last night - that's not something that's going to NORMALLY happen. I don't think it can happen three more times.

If it was still best-of-five, I might believe in an upset, but no way Duncan lets Phoenix win three more....Spurs in 6.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Suns win. However, I still think that the Spurs will win, in 7, then job to the Lakers.

"is it possible that the Suns can pull of a major league upset and send the Spurs packing?"

... Only if those backboards keep working.

"I think Stephon Marbury will continue to neutralize Tony Parker and the Spurs won't find an answer for Amare Stoudemire."

... I think the Suns WILL give San Antonio trouble in those areas, but Penny's not near what he once was and Phoenix has no center. Robinson (believe it or not) will eventually make the difference in this series.

"the Spurs have Los Angeles shaking in their boots."

... No, they don't.

I was live at that game, and that was painful to watch. The Spurs should've won, but a few bad breaks and some amazing shots by the Suns enabled Phoenix to steal that game. The Spurs didn't get the #1 seed by accident. I'm sure they'll make the adjustments in Game 2.

I just watched the overtime part, but it looked like piss-poor free-throw shooting by the Spurs had a lot to do with it (maybe that's what you mean by 'bad breaks').

It was a lot of bad free-throw shooting, Parker's poor shooting, Duncan pretty much contained. It was amazing the Spurs weren't in a hole for most of the game with the way they were playing. Ah, well, you have to win on the road to be a champion anyway (like Tom Tolbert said, I can't remember the last playoff series where the home team won every game), so the Spurs should focus on winning the game tonight, then think of trying to steal one in Phoenix later.

Phoenix can win. They peaked at the end of the season and are playing some great ball. I think the youth and athletisism of the Suns is the real advantage. Willis and Robinson out for game 2 is going to hurt. If the Suns win game 2, then watchout, Spurs could be gone in 5.

Phoenix can't be completely counted out as a contender. I think they can win. Marbury and Marion are great shooters and hopefully Amare will get hot inside. Even though they lost game to Phoenix will be no pushover for the Spurs.

Phoenix is not a typical 8th seed. They had be worried midway in the 4th before Duncan stepped up and the Spurs knocked down the free throws to seal it. Nice job on shutting down Amare. If they can keep him in check, I don't think Marbury and Marion will be enough. Admiral and Willis should be back for Game 3, and hopefully they can prove that size does matter. :)

And, of course, none of this matters because all roads go through Arco. Healthy and happy Peja makes opposing teams sad.

Hell, the *awesome* Lakers might not get past the Wolves.

Edit: Oh yeah, and I agree with Senator Messenoir of France on the Arco thing.

Give a pay raise to whoever lit a fire in Tony Parker. If he keeps having game like that, this series will be over in five.
