At this point, I'll feel better when WWE dies for real. It'll be a mercy killing at this point.

Yeesh! I admit, I get that feeling a lot lately myself. Then I think about all the people I'd miss (even the assholes). Still, just do what I'll do and take a stroll to Japan, where I here that gizmos like "angles" are virtually nonexistant.

Scar: "You know not everyone wants it to die. No one is forcing you to watch (unless your only chanel is TNN and you want more VIP)."

*I* want it to die. I watch solely to see the people that entertain me, even though I know they'll never get their due. Maybe once WWE becomes a forgotten memory those people can go somewhere where they can actually, you know, WRESTLE.

I personally prefer indy wrestling, but remind me to pick up some tapes of the Japanese wrestling, I've seen some of it.

Meanwhile...In Vince McMahon's Office:

Vince: "Sherman, prepare the Wayback Machine for the year 1995! We're going to relive history!"
Shane: "UH...Dad, my name's SHANE. And...why in God's name would we want to relive 1995? We lost more money than ever back then..."

Geez, I'm as unhappy about what the WWE is doing nowadays as the next guy, but the last thing I want is for it to die. There is still good, such as Rock (except for last night), Lesnar, Cena, Booker, Jericho, Van Dam, Matt Hardy, Los Guerreros, Benoit, Misterio, Angle (when he returns), and several others. That's why I'm so pissed off about what WWE is doing latley. Because I DON'T want it to die. Unfortunatley, it looks like they're heading on that highway, and instead of pulling off the road, Vince McMahon is driving straight down there like a madman.

There is good talent, but they'll NEVER be used right. Do you really want to watch just to see your favorites get screwed over time and time again? Benoit will never be champion, Booker will never be champion, RVD will never be champion...deal with it.

Yes, but those guys still put on quality matches that are fun to watch.

As much as I hate Triple H, Nash and Michaels, I'll still watch WWE to see RVD, Benoit, Booker, Jericho, Kane, Lance Storm, Christian, Trish, Victoria, Eddie, Chavo, Rey, Rhyno, Matt Hardy, Goldust and, when they return, Edge and Angle (And probably a couple more I forgot about, too). That's enough to keep me watching, painful though the title scene may be.

There's still a lot of good in WWE, it just isn't at the top of the card.

I think there is some irony in this. I was talking to a one of my friends at work who owns WWE stock, I found this out today. He told me he was junking the stock, because the WWE had been a real slide and that they are requiring mandatory stock options of late. He made an interesting point of why Rock won't leave. Apperantly Rock is number six on the shareholder list behind Vince, Linda, Shane, HBK and Big Bossman. Those BB pushes make a ton of sense now. Rock gets 20% of the stock after seven years starting when I don't know, probably during his big contract signing in 2000. I wonder if that means he and Shane could lead a revolt of if Shane as 30%?

He was also hearing that word is starting to spread to the stockholders about the fans disinterest of late. More shareholders are dumping stock due to WWE's decrease in revenue, but some are starting to hear through the internet about the HHH conspiracy theories. The confrence calls are getting more intense with the holders starting to really grill Linda over backstage stuff.

He told me Steph dumped her stock awhile ago. I have to ask if HHH bought those stocks or what happened to them. Weird, how she dumped the stock. The more we talked about how Raw sucked, the more he came to the conclusion to dump the stock.

Oh, please. Cite me a REAL source to back ANY of this up or don't bother.

(Besides which, the "30%" you're talking would only come to 30% of the *common stock*, which only has like 3% of the voting power. They kept the REAL stock in the family.)

On the stock question: First, its actually gone up close to a dollar a share in the past week, with the English court verdict leading the recovery.
Also, any share that is not owned by a family member becomes the 'worthless' stock. Thus, neither Flex nor Trip could own the company. Now, Trip and Steph's child could own the company, as that would be a direct McMahon.

The following information comes from CNBC and from company filings:

The only SEC filings by corporate insiders in the past year were by Viacom, which sold blocks of shares totaling approximately 95,000 shares during the time period between May and December of 2002.

The largest shareholder is Vincent K. McMahon, at 77% ownership at the time the last report was filed on August 19, 2002. At the time, he owned approximately 54 million shares, with a value of approximately $529 million.

The total breakdown is 83.39% ownership by the 5%/Insider Group and 16.62% floating; which is mainly in mutual funds and institutions.

There is only one man left to save Vince McMahon and the WWF/E. One man who will provide weekly Hogan/Andre Main Event ratings for RAW. Baghdad Bob is your salvation Vince. www.welovetheiraqiinformationminister.com

That's simply not true. The McMahons hold the largest stake in the company, but as of last year, the biggest shareholders were (in this order): a company called Invemed Catalyst, Viacom, Capital Guardian Trust, Citigroup and Artisan Partners. Together, those five companies hold roughly 40 percent of the stock. So there's no way that Rock, HBK, Hillbilly Jim, or whomever else you mentioned ranks that high on the list. Some of them probably get stock options, sure, but nothing big in the grand scheme of things.
