This surprises me. For all of his failings he still was one of the more over people on the roster and moved a ton of merchandise. I wonder if his exit and Lita's return were at all related. He did mention in the book how they got a lot of heat from management for refusal to do certain storylines.

Shee-it! So much for the "time-off" rumors. This really sucks. Jeff was THE MAN once (remember the "Next Shawn Michaels" tag?). I hope he can follow Eddy's example and pull himself together and come back better than before. (If "personal issues" are the cause of termination.)
I think I'll break out some ladder match tapes today. Sad.
EDIT: Can I ask that we spare the "He was Willy!" jokes?

Much thanks to GrubbyLongJohns for condensing my sig pics into this nice banner!
Damn. I was always a Hardyz mark, so this news hits me really hard. Hopefully he can resolve his problems and regain his love of wrestling a la Eddie. This really sucks.
In case of nuclear radiation, stand directly behind your door, but do not open the door, even if the radiation knocks.
Good. He has basically been begging for this for months now. I grew to detest seeing him on my TV on Monday nights. Him staying on wasn't doing anyone any favors. I know Trish can breathe a sigh of relief now.
Considering all the breaks Vince and Co. gave Jeff, I don't feel sorry for him. Hopefully though, they don't punish Matt for Jeff's problems. And, we know who will be the next 'surprise' NWA-TNA performer.
There is only one man left to save Vince McMahon and the WWF/E. One man who will provide weekly Hogan/Andre Main Event ratings for RAW. Baghdad Bob is your salvation Vince. www.welovetheiraqiinformationminister.com
I wouldn't say I detested seeing Jeff Hardy, but I disliked the feeling of worry that hit me every time he climbed the turnbuckles. I'm somewhat glad that if he returns to the TV, that feelings of "Is this going to be the time he gets crippled or killed?" won't be there.
I wish there was a way to know what the REAL reason behind this is. Does he have a Drug Problem? Family Problem? Butting heads with Management? All of the Above?
It would just be nice to know, so that those of us that are big Jeff Hardy fans could offer some words of support.
I don’t go to sleep at night, I job to my blankets.
When my mom dies I'd like to know it was peacefully in her sleep, and not fucked to death by 38 men with AIDS.
Can't say I'll miss him. I was never a Hardyz fan (up until Mattitude, that is), so no big loss.
Matthew: You would've loved it, David. A week in a foreign country, strange people, strange customs... Dave: Oh, I know what you mean. I've been to Canada.
It shows how much he's fallen that, while he used to be damn near my favorite wrestler, I'm completely apathetic about this news. I too hope he cleans himself up - when he was at 100%, the boy was just bursting with potential.
Still surprising to see it happen so out of the blue....sure, Jeff had been acting like a fool both in and out of the ring for months now, but still. Just last week, they were pushing the Hardys' book like everything was hunky-dory. And Jeff was nowhere to be found saving Trish from the Dudleys last night.
Over 1100 posts and still never a Wiener of the Day!
I'm glad. Not because I wasn't a fan of his or because he was going no where these past few months. I'm glad because the WWE may have just spared another wrestler from passing away too early. It's obvious Jeff was not interested in wrestling anymore. It may have been from pain/abuse his body was taking or just being more into music and other things. But it is good he is no longer in the ring risking his or someone else's health.
This is a long shot in the future, but any chance Hardy will be the "masked luchadore" in TNA? He could have some past issue with Lynn or something, and Konnan didn't know who it was, plus Hardy would thrive more in TNA, as it is once a week.

Funny, the first thing I thought of after reading the news is `will he end up in TNA?'. I somehow doubt it, but there would be a ton of upside for both parties:
Hardy would be THE single biggest name they have - like his recent matches or not, he's extremely marketable and people may just order the PPV's if he's main-eventing against Jarrett or Raven (well, more chance of that than Disco Inferno, at least).
For Hardy, it would probably do him some good to work just once a week (well, he was for a while during the house show ban, but I mean without publicity tours, etc.) and the trip from North Carolina to Tennessee probably isn't a bad one compared to some of the places WWE sent him off to.
I think he's still a decent talent and has some name value. Hopefully, TNA folks can take advantage of that....

Whatever Jeff did must have been pretty significant for the WWE to fire him while the Hardy Boys' book is on the best seller list. The WWE loves to have that type of stuff to promote.
And, what the hell is wrong with that boy? He's getting paid damn good money to make out with TRISH STRATUS and he gets himself fired.
I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.
After Jeff not being on Raw last night I thought that we was given a break or he was gone. I used to be a Jeff Hardy fan until it seemed like his heart wasn't in it anymore.
Great main event this week. As the blowoff to a 9 month feud, that much blood was very much appropriate. Ethan Carter's post-match promo was (despite the inevitable swerve-beatdown) some strong character growth for him.
