Okay, I haven't checked out Velocity in a while, but there were a TON of cool little moments on tonight's show.

1. Shelton Benjamin in the back working out before his match while humming his theme music. During the "You Suck" parts, he sings "Shel-ton! Shel-ton! Shel-ton!" Shel-ton!" Too funny.

2. Team Angle are facing "Los Chihuahuas" (Christian York and Joey Matthews under masks. After two blown spots by the Chihuahuas, Josh tries to cover by calling it Lucha Libre style. Cat comes back with "Lucha Libre my ass! These guys are busting their own ass in there!"

3. A cameo appearance by Moppy(!!!) in a backstage segment with Crash and Shannon Moore. She was just hanging there on the locker behind them.

4. Bill DeMott doing one of those old-school Superstars syle picture-in-picture promos.

5. Crash (the newest "Moore-on") trying unsuccessfully to do the Version 1 hand signal. (This followed a pretty kickass match between Crash and Funaki.)

It's cool to see all these little character bits on a B-show. WAY better than Heat.

WHAT ABOUT KANYON?! He showed up as well and made my night. Sucks he had to lose, but at least he made a triumphant return to TV.

Actually, it was a Moppy T-Shirt, which makes me worry how many of those they must have in a warehouse somewhere and/or given away.

I wonder if Kanyon's going to see Bulletproof Monk this weekend.

Why do I get the eerie feeling that Kanyon's search for "Who Betta Than Kanyon" will end with him joining the Mattitude Army?

Not that that's necissarily a bad thing, I'm just saying...

Man, that crowd heat behind Kanyon's promo sounded more fake than a Milli Vanilli live album. But it was a good match, as was Crash/Funaki (which is where I tuned in).

Maybe if it were more original programming and less recap, the show would garner more attention.

I was also somewhat annoyed that, as little as I watch "Confidential" anymore, they managed to repeat a show I've actually seen.

I noticed the Moppy shirt as well.

I guess the Demott-Josh feud is as dead as the Hardcore Holly- Marc Loyd feud.

No mention of Kanyon's cameo on Smackdown this February. Not surprised.

Also, I think Josh is improving on Velocity, even though he's stuck with the Cat.

I really don't understand the Kanyon love, I haven't been impressed at all when I've seen him on in WWE.

I never watched him in WCW though, so I may have missed the goods.

That's because, surprise surprise, WWE didn't use him properly. Kanyon is a great worker; he had a gimmick in WCW for a while of doing a new move in every match, and damned if he didn't do some stuff I'd never seen before.

Kanyon's not a Main Event level player but he's certainly not a Velocity guy. He's funny on the mic and one of the best bumpers in wrestling.

He's the perfect midcard guy that gets a few wins here and there for credibility but is mainly used to get guys over.

I read awhile ago that Kanyon got in trouble for having too good of a dark match with Shark Boy because it upstaged the other matches on the show. I guess I can see their point but Dark Matches are usually tryouts for guys like Shark Boy so don't you want them showing you their best stuff?

Ahh, same situation here! I actually intended to watch a few of the past weeks' new episodes, but missed them. Then I finally get to tune in this week, and its a fuggin rerun from last summer! Atleast it was a rerun with my boy Shawn, and I marked out for the Marty Jannetty clips.

I also unintentionally missed Velocity. A good match with Crash Holly? Stranger things are happening.

Me too. Except there was one little difference. When Tazz was talking about how he's not young like some of the other guys on the roster, they inserted a new clip of Cena with his current gimmick. This originally aired in August, and Cena didn't start rapping until October. I guess the editors had nothing better to do that day.

I didn't watch it all the way through, I did a lot of flipping during the telecast, once again Cat has me shaking my head on how he still has a job... Cat said one time "Lesner is hungry for that title going into Backlash". Josh replies "Cat? Brock is the champion right now". Cat answers "I know that". And out of nowhere Cat yelled out at Kanyon "He can go to hell! I hate that guy". Also got the kick out of "Give The Cat a raise" which I hope it's sarcastic but can't really tell LoL.

What was the deal with "Los Chihuahuas", were they suppose to miss those spots? I don't think they were but Josh mentioned they were hand picked by Team Angle to cover up for Chihuahuas inadequacy during the match.

Was I the only one who thought when Kanyon was talking about the "one person better then Kanyon" he'd be introducing Jackie Gayda which would be too weird.

That was a great gimmick for Kanyon, he pulled out some great stuff. Another great gimmick for him on the funny promo side was when he was "Postively Kanyon" He was fueding with DDP who had a book out called "Positively Page". SO Kanyon would wear a DDP wig and go around Diamond Cutting people everywhere. What was so great was the randomness of it. You'd be watching a backstage promo by someone and in the background there'd be some stage hand just standing around then out of nowhere Kanyon would run on the screen and Diamond Cut him and then do the Diamond Cutter sign. Great stuff. I actually thought the Invasion MVP gimmick he had when he first came to WWE was funny and he did get a run with the US TItle (or IC title, don't remember). But he's been injured most of his WWE career so the WWE couldn't really do anything with him. But i'm sure now that he's back they'll probably screw it up somehow.

Now while I have always hated the Cat since WCW, and I wouldn't mind a better commentator taking his spot on Velocity, that Kanyon quote was brought on by Josh. He mentioned that Kanyon was going places, which caused the Cat to jump down poor Kanyon's throat. They actually did fued with each other near the end of WCW, so if this was a scosh of continuity I'd be awfully happy/surprised. Unfortunately the match they had on the last WCW ppv, which I attended, wasn't exactly going to bring down the house.

It was the US Title, Booker had both belts at the time, and gave the US Title to Kanyon becasue he was the MVP of the Invasion PPV.

I *think* it was York and Matthews just having a bad night. I don't believe you could miss a top rope wheel kick that bad on purpose. WWE booking likes to have the clumsyness lead directly to the finish (see: Shawn/Sean Stasiak's matches) and the mess ups got no special attention in the layout of of the match.

Kanyon did say "find HIM" at one point, which may mean it's not Jackie Gayda - of the many things she's been, a guy is probably not one of them. On the other hand, it may be that Kanyon just assumed it was a guy and wasn't paying enough attention to the Buddahist Monk.
