Test is a TERRIBLE actor. I don't like the short hair either. Test seemed so much more real when he was the Corporation's "hired gun." I mean, Stacy is this guy's only appeal. Without her, he's not much personality-wise. But he did a really good job in the ring with Jericho last night. He was pulling off some high impact moves. Still don't like him tho.

This show had a strange feeling to it, the show seemed a little disjointed with matches that went longer then I thought they would (which is not a bad thing)

-Clique interview- Out comes Big Lazy with fireworks (They cut Christians pyro to give it to this sponge). I guess they need a jolt to wake up from the "roseanne" music, which I think changed this week, don't really know I was nodding off from his entrance. I wish the pyro didn't wake me, because I had to hear Nash talk (his promos are his strongest feature, Yikes). Nash whines and reminisces of the old days (like all old people do). HE even throws out a modern reference "Why don't we all get along". Well the LA riots was "only" 10 years ago, it seems like yesterday for Old Man Nash... HHH had to add his on flavor to this crapsicle and say all his tag team partners walk 10 steps behind me. HOpe you like the view from back their Jericho and Flair. Seeing the clique on TV makes me want to CLICK the remore control.

-Jericho vs. Test- This was one longass 7 minute match, it wasn't bad but boy did I look at my watch and say "this isn't the finish yet". The match was decent enough but hard to follow with the concentration on Stacy and she flashed her ass twice, was the first time a missed thong spot (did I just say that). Yeah plant fan, boy this reeks of dying days WCW... So the best thing they can do with Jericho is to use him to further Test and Stacy?

-Jazz/Victoria vs. Trish/Ivory- Trish & Ivory now there's a hot young/mature chick combo that I like. But some strange booking like a newly face Ivory getting the hot tag of the match and Champ Trish tapping out, I guess I don't have too much trouble with Trish submitting(umm), she does it all the time I wonder if it hurts her a bit, but I guess it's okay. Real good job by Trish selling a twisted knee for a bit there I thought it was legit because she didn't totall oversell it but just got up with a slight limp and Jazz took advantage fast with the STF... Nice headscissors and hurricarna by Ivory & Trish respectfully.

- Bischoff interview- They show the graphic of what's for sale which clearly states $39.95, but a minute later Bischoff says "Guess the price of this combo deal, $75, $100" (I don't know let me guess $39.95) "$39.95!!!"(How did I guess)..

-RVD/Kane vs. Storm/Morley-RVD almost missed his RVD *point to self*, because Lillian reminds him he's the World Tag Team champ (dudette I almost forgot), Lillian's wearing military gear, seeing her wear that makes me want to support Bush all of a sudden... What can I say, 15 minute match is a good thing, it all paced very well through out. Storm/Morley have a lot more inring chemistry together then Storm/Regal. The crowd was into this 100% more then they were for the main event. RVD made the tag titles more over and important then HHH has done for the World title, but of course he's not World title material, people actually look forward to his matches.

-Coach/King talk to a video tape- I remember not so long ago when WWE production was a smooth running operation. The announcers were trying to save it but no chance. I wonder what was the original plan for this segment on paper

-Golddust vs. Christian- Christian's backstage on the phone was just classic. "My ribs weren't hurt, I was holding them because I was laughing so hard because of how little the spear hurt." and telling those union workers who are just setting around doing nothing to beat it, "Damn Paparazzi"
(I Miss the pyro shower during Christian's entrance, take away the little perks from hardworking guys and give it to big lazy guy, damn WWE)... Well that match was fast, Christian hit a greco-roman kick in da nuts. Which is illegal in the state of Virginia. Christian called out Goldberg big time "Take off your bra and panties!" "Your time of the month!" I even thought What the hell! LoL. Goldberg comes out and Christians sold the spear big time. Cue the Gooooldberg chants

-Nowinski/Steiner debate- This has so bad it's good written all over it. I thought Nowinski would go a little deeper but I guess they don't want to go over the heads of everyone... Steiner is hilarious, he can work for the Bush administration, he kept throwing out trigger words like "Terrorism" and "9/11". He forgot "weapons of mass destruction", does Nowinski's mask fall under weapons of mass destruction. A 3minute Warning run in which made little to no sense. I just find it insanely hilarious that in the pro-war WWE, the intelligent man making valid points is their heel but a juiced up blow hard is representing America. Just Too Funny.

-Hurricane/Booker vs. Flair/HHH- What a sad sight seeing Ric Flair, the greatest of all time coming out for his match in the background of HHH music and entrance like he's some sort of no name mid-carder, he's a god damn legend! Flair w/robe and tights and not coming out to the "Space Odyssey" theme is like taking a pee in the church holy water holder, IT'S JUST WRONG! Couldn't Flair come out 1st on his own for wrestling occasions. Phuck Triple H and Phuck this match because it sucked. This match was 6 minutes long and not even that good. Now I could care less about anything HHH is involved even if he dropped the title to Booker, if he did it in Mania I might have cared...

You see one of your friends about to strike your other friend so you stop it by slowly strolling to the ring, I guess he's banking on HHH seeing the sight of him and be put in a hypnotized sleepy state. Hey Nash how about breaking a damn sweat, or is he worried about breaking a sweat would cause him to break a ligament again! Nash is leech.

other stuff- For the first time in the longest time I didn't find the Golddust backstage segment funny, just didn't work for me at all "I soiled my pants I have to change them"?? Please. But more importantly was that girl with the headset that told Goldberg that a family member wanted to se him, was that Jess from Tough Enough, I heard she had a production job in the WWE, it looked like her... The Hurricane with Flair/H was pretty eh as well... I did like Stacy & Test backstage, I thought that was kind of funny... And of course Christian backstage was a riot LoL

Line of the Night: Christian "Damn Paparazzi" and "My ribs weren't hurt, I was holding them because I was laughing so hard because of how little the spear hurt."

Sign of the night "Now we can finally see Gillberg vs. Goldberg"

It's really hitting me hard how much I can't stand the sight of Nash, just his presence annoys me. HHH/Nash/HBK storyline is just boring and annoying, I like HBK a bit but the other two I could care less and could care less about their clique friendship. After the Clique opening promo crap the first hour was pretty entertaining including the tag title match. Second hour had it's moments like Christian and the train wreck aspect of the debate but the second hour was pretty dry. Next week a repeat of The Rock concert, didn't that segment do an awful rating before Wrestlemania (even though I enjoyed it), and a repeat of the Raw title match of Wrestlemania which I actually could care less either way who wins now. Especially with the obvious tons 'o clique involvement

Okay, near the end of the show, during the Nash/HHH confrontation, when Nash is backing H into the corner, you can clearly hear H say, "Book, come on." During all of this, he was pantomiming like he was talking to Nash, but again, he says, "Come on, Book."

Finally, once he's in the corner, he looks DIRECTLY at Booker and says, "Book, FUCK! Do it!" Which is when Book comes in, Nash levels him, and all hell breaks loose from there. Did anyone else catch that? I even Tivo'd it back to make sure I heard what I thought I did. I know the censors caught it, cause H got bleeped.

I wonder if a) the ending was supposed to be different, or b) Booker got there late to get the whole mess started. Sadly, to me, that was the most entertaining part of the show.

God bless DirecTiVo. Even though I'm on the West Coast, I get to watch the show live, and I can fast forward through the crap, and I don't lose two hours of my life every week.

Yeah, I watched the end twice, too. (Though I missed HHH's choice words...)That sequence was definitely botched. On first viewing, Nash looked like he hit Booker intentionally (Heel turn, we thought.), followed by Booker accidentally hitting HBK. On second viewing, Nash's motions still indicated intentional, but after hitting him he did a little half-assed "What did I do?" motion with his hands.

Watch me feign shock...................................................................................................................Done. Oh, that Nash is helping things already. But I didn't really pay much attention to that (didn't tape it either), because I was just still glowing from the fact that IVORY'S BACK! WHOO-HOO! IT BETTER BE FULL-TIME! Oh, by the way, before I wrap up...

Here's another misunderstanding caused by the word "sell" being used to mean so many different things, so I'll try once again to propose alternate terms:

Bump = take the impact of a move esp. in an impressive way. Like RVD does with the DDT.

Sell = use body language and facial expressions to express how much a move or hold hurts. Like Test didn't do for Jericho's chops on Monday.

Psychology = incorporate the after-effects of a move into what you do later in a match. This is what people are talking about when they complain about RVD not "selling". He does the other two just fine.

(Just to clarify, the above aren't any kind of official definitions, just what I think we should call these things to avoid confusion.)

To apply this to the current misunderstanding, the way Goldberg does the spear he drives his victim right to the ground which isn't conducive to an impressive bump, unlike the way that Rhynos and Edge's victims can fly around or do a forward flip after impact.

But since Goldberg's debut, Rocky and Christian have done a great job of selling the pain to their ribs from Goldberg's spear and put over its effectiveness as a finisher.

why doesn't anyone say wow I was impressed by the way Goldberg hammered christians ass to the mat, no we have to hear about how great christian is at grabbing his ribs like a fucking homo. I guess i'm just bitter that all my old favorie wrestlers have to take a back seat to these new generation guys who've been shoved down our throats. nobody on this board has any respect for the old guys who made this business. Nobody sits back and just watches the shows, everyone has to disect every little move and facial expresion.

I think those that are inclined to bash Goldberg will do so immediately, but those who are inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt are waiting till they see him work a match to say much about it. I'm in the second camp. I've enjoyed Goldberg a great deal so far, and I think it's fair to give some of the credit for that to his foils (Christian, Rock, Goldust) and some to his fans' reaction to him, and some to him. And if Goldberg puts on a great match with the Rock, I'll give him a lot of credit for that--but I'll give a lot of credit to the Rock, too.

And how is Goldberg anything but "New Generation"?

A few thoughts:

Since this isn't SD, I'll break into mini-Dean mode: Test is a dull face. Stacy is a face. Torrie is a dull face. Test jerks off to Torrie's Playboy. Now, how does this make him a heel? And, is this the first time that a face has beat up a planted fan?
Baghdad Bob would have made RAW much more enjoyable than Coachman.
Has Rodney Mack had any matches on RAW (outside of the Battle Royal) since he almost killed Al Snow?
Must say, that was the most impressive I've seen Jeff Hardy look in several months. True, he wasn't on the show, but that's why he was so impressive.
I'm getting extremely concerned about Ric Flair's hair.
3MW and Scott Steiner in the ring together. All we needed was Nathan Jones to complete the black hole of suck.
I was hoping against hope that Christian was going to try to top Jericho's 4-0 record when he call out what's his name.

There is only one man left to save Vince McMahon and the WWF/E. One man who will provide weekly Hogan/Andre Main Event ratings for RAW. Baghdad Bob is your salvation Vince. www.welovetheiraqiinformationminister.com

Because this the weinerboard.

No one actually complimented his ability to grab his ribs like a homo. Just his selling of the move.

Well, since nobody else said it, I will...

We-heeeelllll....Well it's the BIG NASH!

Seriously. His modified music...the walk to the ring...the big chokeslam backed by pyro (which Big Show also used to get after his chokeslam), it was total deja-vu and made all the sense in the world.

I suppose Goldberg's popularity (which was clearly evident for those of us at the Seattle RAW) defies me because I saw him in WCW exactly once, and that's when he speared the metal pan under Bret Hart's shirt. So he can spear. So he can pick up a guy and toss him. So he can make even more ridiculous facial expressions than Dwayne Gill's parody of him. So he looks like my wife when he puts on a blonde wig. I still don't get it.

I hate the Teddy Long racial angle. And not in a heel heat kind of way.

Seriously. Who over the age of fourteen is jerking off to Playboy?

The scary thing about the 3MW/Nowinski/Steiner feud to me is that it looks like the logical setup of another six-man match with Steiner being backed by...the APA. Now THERE'S a match to bump down to Heat.

Aside from the tag title match and the HHH/Flair/Bischoff/Hurricane segment, this was a ho-hum effort for me.

I think Goldberg's appeal is that he LOOKS and ACTS like someone whose slightly-crazed and can seriously kick the sh*t out of someone.

And there aren't many other people who have this look and act in the biz. Most wrestlers now rely on humor, inuendo, finesse, or a gimmick. Chris Benoit comes close, but lacks the body size to pull it off. But on RAW... who else is there with that look and act? Goldust? Jericho? HHH? Spike Dudley? Scott Steiner is the next closest thing, but comes across more like a spaz than an intense ass-kicker.

This isn't about workrate. And until it is, Goldberg will remain incredibly over.

Goldberg is an "old guy who made this business"? Goldberg worked in WCW for about two years, and has only been wrestling since about 1998. He hasn't been in the sport as long as most of the "young guys" (including Christian, for that matter). He has no respect for the business - he's said as much in numerous interviews, and he only got where he got because WCW turned the hype machine on him full throttle because he kinda looked like Steve Austin.

It's a completely valid point if this was a thread about, say, Roddy Piper or Hulk Hogan, or even Steve Austin himself, but Goldberg has *nothing* to do with the sucess of the wrestling industry.

Otherwise, am I the only one who thought it was insanely cool that they snuck Jesse from Tough Enough II on in a cameo? (She was the girl who told Goldberg that he had a guest to see him in the Goldust segment). I know she's worked for them for some time now - Ivory pulled some strings and got her a desk job backstage shortly after she was cut from the show. I remember I was seriously rooting for her, even though I knew she had no chance whatsoever since she was so tiny *and* had a bad back.
