TSN had the game on up here and call me one J.S. Giguere convert. He was unbelievable. 63 saves, including a rather impressive 36 in the three overtimes.
Go Ducks go!!!
---------- And the real wonder of the world is that we don't jump too ----------
Where the wild are strong, and the strong are the darkest ones, you're the Darkest One.
It's all about to fall apart for Anaheim. They've been outplayed in both games and Giguerre's heat is starting to fade. Luck can only get you so far, and Anaheim has had A WHOLE FUCKING LOT of luck. Much like last year, something is going to go horribly wrong and Anaheim will crumble. There is no way, NO WAY, that Detroit is going to lose game 3. Watch the series turn around after that.

I am a big Ducks fan (huge Kariya mark) and I hope they can continue this, but logic tells me they cannot win eventually. Then again, logic told me they would be swept. J.S. is a great goalie, something he proved this season. Ducks have great defense, something they proved this season and finally they aren't just Paul and some guys. They have several threats and most of those are guys that can shine in the play-offs.
Perhaps the Wings will fire back, but the Ducks have the momentum, the crowd and the cards now to upset Detroit. Hey, everybody figured they would be swept so they already beat the odds, and might as well beat them completely! :)
Kariya has a goal, Oates has a goal...that's about it. Kariya, Oates AND Sykora need to get going in Game 3 or the Wings will definitely win. The Duck PP has to score a goal as well, Ozolinsh has looked really flat. Ruchin has been shutting Federov down extremely, but Shanahan, Hull, Yzerman and all the Wings are going to pick it up for Games 3-7 and the Ducks are in deep trouble if they don't match the intensity.
The Red Wings have been receiving too many good chances and now the Mighty Ducks need to win a game for Giguere rather than having Giguere win it for the team.
This is the one series that is drawing non Anaheim/Detroit fans, simply because it's such an amazing turn of events and because it's featuring some damn good hockey.
Big props to N.J. for dragging the Bruins down to a 3-0 deficit.
Now, as the final buzzer goes off and the Ducks take a 3-0 series lead over Detroit, select Red Wings fans begin to contemplate their suicide notes.

Ugh. The problem for the Red Wings right now is that they're not making the big plays they would normally make. Shanahan didn't get the shot he wanted on the breakaway, Hull screwed up like 4 times. Fedorov missed a one-timer. Datsyuk missed a gimme. Nothing is going right for the Wings. Combine that with Anaheim's STUPID LUCK, and of course they're down 0-3. To Anaheim's credit, they won a ton of faceoffs, which really killed the Wings, and they played good defense for most of the game.
If the Wings are going to stand any chance, then Fedorov, Lidstom, Hull, Shanahan, and Yzerman have got to start making plays. If any team can do it, it's the Red Wings, but the odds aren't exactly in their favor.

It's just fantastic to see CuJo falling flat on his face! It's just great!
Go Sens Go!
Ottawa Senators 2002/2003 Stanley Cup Champions
"You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold the America's Cup, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn't want to go to war, and the three most powerful men in America are named 'Bush', 'Dick', and 'Colon. Need I say more?"
Big Bad said: In Cujo's defense, it's not his job to score goals.
No, but he's allowing more goals on fewer shots than the goalie at the other end of the ice. Ergo, he is being outplayed. Badly.
(I know it's not so cut and dried as that, but if Detroit is eliminated in the first round CuJo's going to hear plenty about it)
A buddy asked me before the playoffs who I liked this year. I had watched Detroit dominate Ottawa the night before and I couldn't see any team except Colorado beating them. I said as much at the time; I hope he didn't pick his hockey pool based on what I said...
Detroit is playing like a team that doesn't have confidence in their goaltender; this time last year they knew they had Hasek behind them and that Vancouver's luck would run out. This year they're not playing with that same kind of quiet confidence; and it's showing on the scoreboard.
I saw an interview with a pissed off Yzerman, where he basically slammed the press and told them not to blame Cujo. He said it was all the teams fault, and is perfectly happy with how well Cujo is playing.

Hee hee hee hee hee hee hee hee! Hee hee hee! Aww, *man*. Whoof! I'm sorry. I was going to write something, but I honestly can't follow that up. Hee hee!
Fuck Luck. Luck is with those that play better. Ducks win face offs, screw with the minds of Detroit, make them niss those shots and force shots that bounce on the goal...
It don't matter now, they swept the Wings!! Muahahahhaha! Err...did they ever even win four games against the Wings in their existence? *grin*
The only reasoning I can think of is that it's the Leafs' third jersey, which I think they get permission from the league to wear every now and then. It is screwy, though.
