I love the Haas of Pain. What a great move.

The FBI/Undertaker-Jones angle is pretty funny so far, and I love the quality of those FBI promos.

Is there ANY reason why Undertaker has to wrestle Rey Rey? Couldn't it have been Benoit/Rey and Taker/A-Train? Though Benoit and the Train actually had a pretty decent match, so I can't complain. A-Train really isn't all that bad, just not the "future of the business" as the announcers call him.

Wow a post of smackdown threads that was short! Pure genious.

I definitely loved the Team Angle/Kai n Taj match. That was classic old school heels vs faces action, and I think that Kai n Taj demonstrated their sweet power moves and weren't a pushover. I loved when Funaki got the hot tag and leveled T.A.! Plus T.A. had some classic super villain faces after their win. I think they are getting better at being bad.

Why does Big Show always remove the turnbuckle, when it inevitably causes his doom? That's like Flair climbing up the turnbuckle, or (generally) Jericho doing a lionsault, or HHH doing a pedigree for the first time in the match, or Test doing a pumphandle slam for the first time in the match... well, you get the point-||:-]

best, eocs

Piper’s Pit?!? Jimmy Hart?!? SABLE?!? Cripes…Sable looked like she could be Torrie’s MOTHER. And what’s up with Torrie always getting stuck with the lesbian story angles?

I hadn't seen Lesnar's Shooting Star from a good television angle yet. That was even sicker looking than it looked live.

If I were Big Show, I would have snapped A-Train’s neck for getting me disqualified. A-Train the "future of the business"? Wow...There really IS somebody trying to drive the company out of business. Okay, so that move WAS impressive, whatever it was ("train hitch"? hahahahaha)

I liked the FBI bits, even if it meant more Nathan Jones is coming.

Taker/Mysterio...I guess if there was a point to pairing them against each other in the tournament, it was to give Mysterio an opponent he could lose to without losing credibility. I liked it for what it was.

"Get in the car, Dad!" Geez, Hogan's kid is a pussy.

Knoble/Kendrick was criminally short. That should have gotten a minimum of 5-10 minutes. Feud these 2 guys and I'll be *VERY* happy. Hell, just get Knoble away from being a jobber and I'll be happy.

I'm probably one of the few FBI marks around, so I'm interested to see where the FBI/Jones/Taker thing is going (FBI getting squashed, probably, but a guy can dream).

Unintentionally Un-American comment of the week:

Tazz: "Big Evil and Old Glory: A Perfect match!"

Okay, so it wasn't THAT bad, but it definetly caught my ear for a second.

I liked the show. Here's hoping Taker does the right thing next week and puts Cena over semi-clean and in convincing fashion.

Aw crap, I forgot, Cena has to wrestle Undertaker next week.

My prediction: 'Taker beats on his for five minutes and no-sells everything. On the big screen, it shows the FBI backstage kicking Nathan Jones' ass. Undertaker runs backstage to help his buddy, and gets counted out. Cena gets "put over."

They have Cena positioned so perfectly to become a star. Next week he can pick up the biggest win of his career against Undertaker, and the week after that he can have the best match of his career against Benoit(provided he beats Rhyno, which I guess isn't guaranteed). If they manage to not make Cena look like a chump and have him defeat them both we could be looking at a new main-event caliber talent. His ring work isn't quite there yet, but hell, neither was Rock's when he first was getting over big. Cena seems to have that x-factor that makes a guy a noticable talent, as opposed to another midcarder. He's taken one of wrestling's most incredibly shitty gimmicks and made it entertaining. He also has this unique intensity to his promos that most heels just wish they had. They've gotta run with him while he's hot and hope he gets over huge.

Cena has definitely had it for a while. I remember back on Velocity months back when he was being interviewed before a match against Albert (back when he was Cena and Albert was Albert), he said some really funny comments and stuff, so that was entertaining, and I liked him!!! Yay, I agree with ~%95 of net fans!

I'm all for the Cena push. As long as he brings back the "Rewind and repeat" gimmick he did at the beggining of his WWE run.

"I'm gonna kick your ass! Let me say that again... *rewinding sound* I'm gonna kick your ass!"

Well, at least *I* liked it.

Flame me for saying this, but I thought, and so did about 20 people I've spoken to tonight, that Sable looked (while old) a lot more attractive than Torrie.

It was very cool to see her back, and the timing's perfect. And did you see the reaction? It's like getting a new girl, and you're banging and shit, and then your ex-calls. And all of sudden this new girl doesn't seem so good anymore.

Also, when watching Team Angle against Teej and Foon, I couldn't help but shake my head. Two guys in American Olympic-style unitards being booed against popular Japanese dudes, neither of whom knows coherent English. If you watched ANY wrestling in the 80's or before, that had to be surreal.

Cena's the shit, and Vince once again took ten minutes too long to get to the point. Maybe Austin comes to Smackdown and Hogan goes to RAW? I dunno. And Steph still looks hot when she's clothed up to her chin. It's just those arms and those nasty-huge boobs.

Yeah, that's a great prediction, and I could very well see that happening based on what happened tonight. And if it does play out that way, credit has to go the WWE writers, for once: they would build up the FBI, Nathan Jones and John Cena all in one storyline.

The coyote goes...Honestly, I hope Cena doesn't win the tournament. Let the Cena/Brock thing stew a bit, until it's ready to pop.

Oh, and Sable garnered a definite "Uh, whatever".

I think FBI could cause some trouble in the Undertaker match but I think Cena will atleast get the pin on Undertaker, could be because of FBI interference but I think he will pin UT. IT just seems like too good a setup for him not to. It's obvious they are hyping him up as Lesnar's next opponent and pinning Eddie who was the toughest first round opponent, and then the baddest man in the WWE Undertaker, and then the best wrestler in the WWE Benoit is a good way of putting him over as a legit threat.

As for the rest of the tournament, it all went well for me, I liked UT/Rey and A-Train's match was about the best match you're going to get out of him. Would've liked to see Eddie get a win but I guess he has to stick to the tag team scene.

I think Sable is dog ugly, like she always has looked and she still makes me want to rip my ears off.

Team Angle vs. Funaki/Tajiri was good as well. Man Tajiri is getting huge crowd reactions again and he's not even doing the promos with Regal anymore.

Kendrick vs. Noble was kind of short but unless you're going to cut out Sable/Torrie or Hulk/Vince then i don't know what to do differently.

Where does Matt fit into the whole Lesnar's next opponent angle, he did make the challenge tonight and they do have a past.

Hulk/Vince was blah, I was ok with Hogan getting his time at WM but now he's had it get rid of this crap. Didn't really pay attention, especially when i found out Pitch Black was on.

I'm looking forward to a UT/Nunzio match, that would be interesting to see.

If it is Cena vs. Lesnar next then where does Benoit go?

a few of my thoughts:
-I also thought Kendrick/Noble should've gotten more time. But it was a pretty cool match. Also I marked when Cole finally called the "Sliced Bread #2". HOT SOUP COMIN' THRU! Also I really like Kendrick's theme. It's your basic production music I know, but it's a good change from most of the really generic, bland hard rock stuff they give to alot of other people.

-The FBI promo was great. It reminded me of those commercials for "The Getaway" game.

-A-Train/Benoit, that match just proved how great Benoit is in the ring. Like always, he bumped like crazy for A-Train. Did you see that camel clutch into a flippy-slam type thing A-Train did? That looked 'swank'.

-Cena/Eddie, that delayed suplex was reminiscent of the Bulldog's (R.I.P.). The two put on an ok match. I like Cena's sitout DVD. Though I miss the proto-bomb.
Also Cena's rap on Undertaker was great. I was hooked on the guy before but now i'm behind him more than ever.

-The whole Torrie/Sable thing...ugh...just ugh. Sable's shrieking had me running for cotton balls to stick in my ears.

-Funaki & Tajiri vs Team Suck Squad, again good action. Though Funaki and Tajiri aren't really in any major languages, it's still good to seem them in a good match AND on Smackdown.

-The final half hour of the show was pretty....ehhhh....But you have to look at the bright side, it's better than Raw's being an hour and a half of "ehhhh" stuff and a combined half hour of good stuff (on a good night). I mean tonight's Smackdown wasn't unbelievably off the charts, but I still think it kicked Raw's butt especially in terms of its mid-card talent. It just seems the SD mid-card guys seem to have more direction than alot of the Raw guys.

Like someone else said above, i'd kinda hate to see Brock/Cena wasted so soon but i'd so love to see him win this tournament. The whole rapping gimmick is just perfect right now. And i'd love to see a Cena/Benoit final.

Hey, just a thought, what if the final wasn't resolved properly and they decide to go into a Benoit/Cena/Brock 3-way at Backlash? I mean that way they wouldn't exactly waste Cena/Brock or Benoit/Brock right away. Then possibly, if Cena does get over enough that WWE has confidence to put the belt on him, we could see the 3 trade off the belt for the next few months or at least all chase after each other.

As for the Cruiser, I see Kendrick and Mattitude building up next. I'd like to see Kendrick get it, then with Ultimo Dragon coming in, see the Cruiser division get a good kick in the ass and see more attention given to it. I mean just imagine, Kendrick, Ultimo, Rey Jr., Noble, Kidman, Moore, Tajiri, Funaki!!! Christ. You can have some off the charts matches with those guys. WWE needs to finally take this division by the balls and really push it.....but it probably won't happen.

As for Matt, maybe see him thrown into the mix with someone like Rhyno...and possibly someone else and whoever reigns supreme in that can be thrown into the World Title chase, possibly feuding with whoever isn't being pushed as the main contender. (let's say they concentrate on Brock/Cena, then maybe someone like Matt can go at it with Benoit)

(sorry, looks like I got ahead of myself and started looking forward to future Smackdowns )

I hated Cena's gimmick when they stuck him with it, but he truly has taken it over and turned it from silly to not only believable but threatening. The promo about Taker as he was on his way out was gold.

While I feel that Cena will take the tourney, my fear is that a loss to Brock will make it all for naught. After all Brock scored a convincing win over Cena in the match that "injured" his leg.

While I like Brock a lot I think Cenamania needs to run wild. This is a guy where the true "future of the business" should be.

The canned cheers and boos are so messed up especially during Stephanie's opening promo.

-Undertaker vs. Mysterio- For whatever reason I was happy to see Undertaker today, it's strange, don't know why. I liked the match, maybe I was in a good mood but I enjoyed it. "Big Evil + Old Glory = A perfect match"... okay take it to the politics forum I know

-Kendrick vs. Moore- This match kind of ended before it started, well it was nice while it was on.

-Benoit vs. A-Train- This matchup again, poor Benoit has to keep being matched up with Albert. Now he knows how I feel back in my school days when I always had to sit beside the stinky kid, because our last names started with the same letter. Damn alphabetic seating plan. Talk about going off on a rant... The match was actually the best they've done so it was okay. But the BEST thing was the little sign with the picture of Thomas the Tank-engine, with Thomas' face replaced by Alberts. That sign ruled!

-Cena vs. Eddie- Wow Cena really is getting a good push. I just felt this match was missing something, don't really know what, maybe it needed more time.

-Torrie interview- Torrie looking extra slutty, but in a boring way. She looks like an employee if Santa's village merged with the Bump & Grind stripclub. Someone really should tell her to stop dressing like a stripper to get attention... Wait who's this IT'S JOAN RIVERS!!! She'll give her fashion tips even though she's wearing a bodysuit that is as outdated as her face! (You know jeans & T-shirt is sexy, I like girls who dress like chicks not like they are cartoon characters. Raw divas are much cooler) I know she's wearing heels but she doesn't seem to be even able to walk normally. Sable kisses Torrie and Torrie sells it pretty much the same way she sold Dawn's kiss and entire offense (which is no existent). Torrie & Sable the Joy! It's like having to choose to drink Crystal Pepsi and bleach, Both Equally Unappealing.

-Team Angle vs. Funaki/Tajiri- I didn't like this as much as some others, maybe the Torrie and Joan Rivers was still effecting this match but couldn't get into it.

-Rhyno vs. Bigshow- I liked this match more then I thought I would, the DQ ending was as dumb as dumb could be (ie bringing Sable back, that's the new measuring stick guys LoL). I enjoyed these two big guys going at it.

-Vince/Hogan interview- Hogan looks SO funny in white sneakers, old men in white sneakers make me laugh, they remind me of old guys going for their morning run/Brisk walk. Vince SWERVES us and goes heel then SWERVES us and becomes mean again. Hogan gets fired off the show, that's almost as original as Austin getting fired off his show the days before. Distinct product What? Brother!... Well I did like Vince kicking Hogans punkass kid into the limo. Also I think a 3 minute warning guy was driving the limo because he missed his spot to start driving when Vince kicks the bumper, Vince actually had to tell the bastard to start driving already. And it was raining in the state of Washington, I'm shocked. LoL

-other stuff- FBI ruled. I never liked the FBI, but for whatever reason I was laughing at the sight of them and continuing laughing even after the segment. I think it's because I ventured into the Italian community of my city a few days ago and I saw each of the FBI stereotype in my journey. Small guy with oversized leather jacket who thinks he's tough. Muscle guy in a muscle shirt or undershit. And my personal favorite ugly guy who looks a bit older then the rest in a WHITE JUMPSUIT. FBI got the stereotype down to a T.

I had a messed up night tonight. I enjoyed things that I usually don't but didn't like some stuff that I should have liked (and most did) I liked matches with Undertaker, A-train and Big Show involved and laughed my ass off at the FBI which before I never found funny. Very odd! I'm scared.

Line of the Night: Cole or Tazz said ""Big Evil and Old Glory: A Perfect match!"

Sign of the Night: Thomas the Tank-engine with Thomas face replaced by Alberts.

Scott- yeah, I was thinking the same thing.

It's kinda cool how now that they've decided to give Cena the big push, the first guys he really takes out are Rikishi and Eddy, two guys that did indeed spend months squashing the shit out of him.
