Ok, before I go, I just wanted to bring up as to who I thought were the 'Top 25 Biggest Names' in the WWE as of now. I think the first 10 or so are on the money in terms of how I ranked them, but the last 15 are interchangable.

Also, I find it hard to believe that with a roster this stacked, the WWE can be in such poor shape. What do you casual fans want for pete's sake?!!! It really doesn't get much better than this. Well maybe with the additions of Sting, Bret Hart, and Randy Savage.

01. Hollywood Hulk Hogan
02. The Rock
03. Stone Cold Steve Austin
04. Vince McMahon
05. Ric Flair
06. Bill Goldberg
07. Triple H
08. Kurt Angle
09. Shawn Michaels
10. The Undertaker
11. Brock Lesnar
12. Chris Jericho
13. Kevin Nash
14. Trish Stratus
15. Rowdy Roddy Piper
16. Sable
17. Eric Bischoff
18. Rob Van Dam
19. Booker T
20. Scott Steiner
21. Stephanie McMahon
22. Stacy Keibler
23. Torrie Wilson
24. Lita
25. Chris Benoit

I'd put Al Snow up there, because of the Tough Enough exposure, and Rey Mysterio Jr. tears the roof off when he wrestles.

It's not that they don't have the talent. It's more like...they aren't doing anything with it. I would like more in-ring action, and more compelling story lines. But hey, that's just me.

OK, let's take a look, shall we?

01. Hollywood Hulk Hogan - old, hardly wrestles, can hardly get around the ring
02. The Rock - no problem, but back for how long?
03. Stone Cold Steve Austin - neck in bad shape, just returned, contract up soon & looking to sign a non-wrestling one
04. Vince McMahon - non-wrestler
05. Ric Flair - non-wrestler
06. Bill Goldberg - *just* returned, gone from US wrestling scene for 2+ years
07. Triple H - not as good since the quad injury, too much pull backstage?
08. Kurt Angle - no problem here (pending the neck surgery)
09. Shawn Michaels - part-time wrestler
10. The Undertaker - OK, I guess (I don't like him), not averse to the "political card"
11. Brock Lesnar - no problem
12. Chris Jericho - no problem, although quasi-buried ever since his feud w/ HHH, *needs* to go over HBK to blow off the feud
13. Kevin Nash - injured, bad in the ring, old
14. Trish Stratus - improved tremendously as a wrestler, but no one cares about women's wrestling in the US
15. Rowdy Roddy Piper - old, can't wrestle, why is he in the WWE?
16. Sable - gone for a long time, no reason for them to bring her back
17. Eric Bischoff - non-wrestler
18. Rob Van Dam - BURIED
19. Booker T - no problem, but how will outcome of HHH feud leave him?
20. Scott Steiner - horrible in the ring and on the mic
21. Stephanie McMahon - non-wrestler
22. Stacy Keibler - non-wrestler
23. Torrie Wilson - non-wrestler
24. Lita - no one cares about women's wrestling in the US, plus she's horrible in the ring
25. Chris Benoit - no problem

if the Dudleys are on that list you gotta add the hardy's and E&C bc they have made more impact than i'd say the dudleys have. Plus Dusty Rhodes deserves mention on one of those lists possibly legends

Well, Matt Hardy has worked himself into being a "name" character. Same with John Cena, Edge & Christian. Heck, the Big Show & Kane are both big-name guys... Shane McMahon should also be up there.

Heck, big name guys should be the guys that when their NAME is mentioned...the crowd reacts loudly.

Outside of the "Legends & Icons", my non wrestling fan friends seem to know who Big Show, Chris Jericho, and Edge are. Jericho and Edge mainly because they've done a lot of PR stuff in Canada where they've been seen by non wrestling fans.

They also know pretty much any of Bret Hart's main WWF feuds because they used to "cover" wrestling in the newspaper here until 1998.

I have to agree with Freeway in his assesment that Undertaker and HBK are both legends, they are both well more known than Angle and Triple H at this point in time.

The following post expresses the opinions of a raving Jerichoholic. He is biased, opinionated and bitter. You have been warned.

I think Undertaker is probably known by non-wrestling fans because he's been around forever and he always wins at WrestleMania. If I've got a friend who's a fan and I'm not, but I agree to watch WM with them every year, then I'd eventually notice that big guy who always wins.

Not bad freeway, except I would put Vince up a notch simply because everyone knows Vince McMahon with the pub he got during the Attitude boom. Hunter and Angle should be up a notch to, because they were break out stars when the largest amount of casual fans were watching in 2000.

Goldberg has to be up one notch. I told non-wrestling fans about his return and they all remember him. They also all remember Roddy Piper. He may not be an icon, but he is a legend.

Many also remember Sable which surprised me. But the mention of Playboy jogged their memory.

All this freakin' talk about "bonds of friendship" forming -- enough already! Gee, a handful of people forced to live together for months and BONDS FORM? Well, duh .... I mean, is this a wrestling show or an episode of "OZ"?
