I'm waiting until June. I usually download all kinds of music, but for my favourite bands (U2, Pearl Jam, the White Stripes, Radiohead, etc.) I like to savour the anticipation.
"I have no intention of uttering my last words on the stage. Room service and a couple of depraved young women will do me quite nicely for an exit."-- Peter O'Toole
"I'm gonna rip the eyes out of your head, and piss down your dead skull!" -- Jack Nicholson, in A Few Good Men
Well, I'm different. I want the music ASAP. Radiohead is my favorite band in the whole wide world. It's not like I'm not going to buy it when it comes out. Especially since it's being bundled with a COMPLETELY REDONE version of Pablo Honey.
Get well soon Kurt, Batista, Randy, Edge, Kevin, Scotty, Bubba, Regal....
Man, that's depressing...and I know there's people I've forgotten!
Radiohead's acknowledging that "Creep" exists?! Shocker.
Tell me this, are the rumors true? Have they actually starting making..., ...what do they call those things again..., ...songs~! on this album, or is it more of that dreary elevator music "Amnesiac" shit?
(I mean, I gave them credit for "Kid A". It takes balls to do something that all together unique, but "Amnesiac" was just retreading the same ground and the whole thing sounded terribly cliche.)
I'm not trying to be an asshole, I just am hoping that they've reverted back to their fantastic form from the "OK Computer" era.
"Like an Iraqi soldier dressed in civilian clothes, Fox News has crept in under the false cover of objectivity to unleash a blitzkrieg of bias so right wing that channel-surfers often mistake it for a eugenics infomercial. The only nod at an actual exchange of ideas is Hannity bitch-slapping the hapless Colmes while slobbering permaguest Bill Bennett slowly undoes his belt buckle in anticipation of giving that liberal fucker his final comeuppance. It's enough to scare the teeth right out of Ann Coulter's vagina" ---Mr. Cranky Reviews The War Coverage
If I were to rank the albums in order of greatness, they'd be Kid A, The Bends, OK Computer, Amnesiac, and Pablo Honey. Hail to the Thief will probably fall somewhere between The Bends and OK Computer. The guitars are back with a vengeance. The first song is called 2+2=5 and it starts up like something from Amnesiac and ends up in a rain of guitars. If I were to compare it to anything, it'd be Paranoid Android. It's freaking great. Other standouts are the first single which is called There There, We Suck Young Blood (which has little claps in it...neat stuff), Myxamatosis (which reminded me a lot of Airbag) and my favorite, Wolf at the Door. Thom breaks out the rapping skills! Now, the word is that these are the rough mixes. If that is the case, I'm SALIVATING over what the real thing is going to sound like.
As for Amnesiac, I can see your point. It's a very schizo album. There are great songs like Packt In Like Sardines, Pyramid Song, Knives Out, I Might Be Wrong, Like Spinning Plates, and Living in a Glass House. However, the other half is just barely music. It's definitely a different album.
As for the record, I'll say that this is up there as the best album since Sigur Ros's ( ) and one of the best this decade. But, I could just be biased...

Uhm, did you read that on GreenPlastic.com yesterday? I think that might have been an...April Fools joke?
Also, it has been confirmed that the MP3s are from an early, unmastered edit of the album. So they`re basically the same songs, but not the final versions of them.
You know, had it been any other band, I would have seen through it immediately. However, this is Radiohead we are talking about. Thom and the boys are always trying to improve on themselves, so it sounded credible to me. Count me as one of the suckered.
I've since read that these are the unmastered tapes from the original sessions. Which, quite frankly, amazes the hell out of me b/c the songs are so great. I cannot imagine what they'll do to fix them.
