It SHOULD be out today, hopefully soon. They said the numbers doubled how many people voted last year. Iknow I myself voted about a hundred times, so I can understand that. Favre was leading everyone else by about a hundred thousand votes. Bubba Franks took the lead from Walls, and Aman Green was second to Faulk, with a few more line and D players getting the nod as well. (From the fan polling)
It was just nice to see the public ralley behind Favre as much as they have. I'm still hoping he grabs the MVP, but that damn Warner with his 17 perfect recievers is ruining everything.

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (www.jsonline.com):
Quarterback Brett Favre, running back Ahman Green and tight end Bubba Franks will represent the Green Bay Packers in the Pro Bowl next month, it was announced today. Favre was selected to the NFC team for the sixth time, although for the first time since 1997, while Green and Franks will play in the game for the first time. The three Packers named to the Pro Bowl is the most since 1998, when Green Bay had five players on the team. Last season, safety Darren Sharper was the Packers' only selection, and in 1999 the club was shut out for the first time since 1991. Six other Packers – safety Darren Sharper, fullback William Henderson, guard Marco Rivera, punter Josh Bidwell, center Mike Flanagan, and defensive end Kabeer Gbaja-Biamilla - were chosen as alternates to the NFC squad.
Congratulations to John Randle and Walter Jones on making the Pro Bowl. Now, if only Seattle can get another win and make the playoffs... ahh, the irony, Trent Dilfer knocking out the Ravens from the playoffs. That'd freaking RULE. Of course, we can go lose to either Oakland or New England...
Someone explain to me how the Bears D only gets one rep in this game. And while Sauberbrun may have the biggest number, no punter was more important to his team than Brad Maynard this year was to the Bears. Oh well, the lag time is usually a year on these things, I figure next year R.W. McQuarters, Mike Brown, and Rosey Colvin get their props.
hmmm...once again the Bucs tie for most players in the Pro Bowl. Now if only all that talent would result in the TEAM'S prosperity, and not just that ofthe individuals...
How does the saying og? "The whole is not equal to the sum of the parts"? That's the Bucs.
Only one rep is kind of a screwjob, but they really are a good TEAM, not great individuals. Who would you replace that made the roster? I don't see it.
As for Brown (who might be your best argument), he can wait for Sharper to get named. Sharper has had a better year. If he had better hands, he'd have at least 4 more interceptions (maybe I just argued in Brown's favor?). That being said, Brown has a better supporting cast, and has had to deal with fewer injuries.
Hope we meet you guys in the playoffs. I'd love to go 3-0 against you.
Well, I would say that Ted Washington was more deserving than Glover or Porcher at Interior Lineman. And while John Lynch is one of my favorite players in the NFL, Mike Brown deserved it over him for one moment above all else, and it has nothing to do with returning an INT for a TD. On Sunday night against the Vikes a few weeks back, it was a close game, and Moss broke free over the middle, and Culpepper put out a ball that was leading him perfectly. And then when you watch you can see Moss look over and see Brown getting set to pop him the moment the ball comes into his hands, and Moss slows his strides and makes his arms so short even Benoit would be embarrassed of those limbs. Ball hits turf, drive ends, Bears win crucial game. Urlacher is a prodigy and a freak, but Brown is the assassin who makes people fear this defense.
Well, if people fear Brown like you say (which I find hard to believe), I am sure they fear the bombs Lynch hands out disguised as tackles a million times more.
I'll agree that Lynch is probably the hardest hitter in the game today, but I used that moment merely as something anecdotal to show not just the fear Brown gives, but to show what a major part of the defense he is. I just think that considering everyone who plays the Bears has to pass to have a chance (unless they have a RB named Ahman, but let's not discuss that), the fact that the Bears have done so well is a testament to their pass defense, which gives up tons of yards, but very few points. Brown lays in huge hits, is a major ballhawk, plays terrific pass coverage, and basically is the leader of the secondary. With all that in mind, I think he should have gotten a spot ahead of somebody, anybody.
Add Mike Flanagan's name to the list of Packers who will be in Honolulu. Matt Birk, the ONLY VIKING REPRESENTATIVE is getting married instead of going to the Pro Bowl. That should mean that Flanagan goes.
I'll cast my vote for Lynch over Brown, based on career efforts, only.
Career wise Lynch should get it, but the Pro Bowl is supposed to be a single year thing, as Tom Brady would attest to. It's logic like that which puts Rod Woodson in the Pro Bowl despite beginning to show his age, and which puts Cal Ripken in about 800 straight All-Star games. Oh well, I have a feeling Brown will get recognized when year-end teams come out from AP and the like.
Now that fans are voting on teh NFL Pro Bowl, I think the career thing comes into play, just like it has in baseball. I'm not sure if that makes it right or wrong, it just is.
Frankly, if Josh Bidwell was second in the NFC in punter balloting, I think the fans should lose their right to vote.
But at least baseball has the excuse that the fan voting is the sole determinant of the starters. The NFL hedged their bets and gave the players and coaches 2/3 of the power to choose. And they still screwed it up. I say it should only be open to football geeks with at least 5 active fantasy football teams
All they do is talk. They talk and talk. They talk their way right into the Pro Bowl." -Heinz Ward. Regarding his opinion of the Ravens' trash talking before their first meeting.
A Fan- Sums up my feeling about the AFC defense in the Pro Bowl.
With all due respect, how could you not choose the Carolina punter? Anyone who's punting for a team that's lost 14 in a row is going to have pretty good numbers.
'Course, nobody's really arguing that....
Out of curiousity, what's Dilfer's record as a starter over the past 2 years?
And why couldn't he play like this back when he was playing for the Bucs?
hear the coach try to blame their season on Springs?
springs at that much of a player, he was an ass when i played with him at springbrook high way back when.
Lets just say that i'm not surprised they caught him with 'roids...
Normally I don't respond to trolls....awww, who am I kidding...
The odds of Seattle making the playoffs are a lot better than they are not making the playoffs. The J-T-T-S are DONE. They aren't winning in Jokeland. Seattle *SHOULD* beat Kansas City. Then Seattle jobs to New England. Yippee.
